One day when she woke up, Lillidia had lost all her memories. Before her eyes was a gorgeous young man named Silvio.

“Good morning, my princess.”

According to him, she was the princess of Clarines Kingdom. But because her body was weak, she was recovering in a residence away from the capital with him, her servant.

Despite not having any memories, Silvio treated her well while she focused on recovery in their mansion in the middle of a dense forest.

But when Lillidia started to realize her feelings for him, she found out that he had a secret.

Apparently he wasn’t her servant, but a very powerful magician…?

dang I have nothing to say, except lowkey bad writing... not to the fault of the translator though

however decent the translation, it can't mediate for pace -or the lack of, so the ultimate issue lies with the story narrative itself.

... more>> the premise is decent, however -man the pacing;

1. escalations were - well, escalated quickly. instead of allowing the readers to understand and then empathise with the emotions the FL was going through, it was telling rather than showing.

2. the banter was awkward between our leads and the chemistry felt forced. this can be attributed again to the poor storyboard planning

3. our FL had no real personality (with or without amnesia)

... now my main issue is our ML, I was mislead by the male yandere tag into reading this.

but yandere?

sure, if you must label it. comparisons to other works with yandere MLs, he's tamed.

we come to know of the existence of an surveillance mirror located in his room. how do we know? because the author described it for us in detail.

the author writes with a 'yandere qualities' checklist on the side. each chapter we cycle through the checklist, until we reach the end and arrive at the top again.

im saying this because theres no real obsession, the ML is an NPC made to speed run this aforementioned checklist.

this surveillance mirror have no real function in futhering plot, nor does it allow us to gain bettet insight into his character.

in her poor attempt at recovering her memories, the FL follows a butterfly into the forest. where was this surveillance mirror and why is it not performing its job?surveillancing?

yes, you can chalk it up to the ML being too preoccupied with repairing his broken magic circles and the butterfly being discrete. notice how, with or without the existence of the mirror, this narrative could have played out regardless? if it serves no purpose, it is not necessary to include.

it read like a y/n self insert. of course there's nothing wrong with that, just not to my personal taste.

it's no literature masterpiece, but if you find the plot interesting enough, I'm sure you can turn your brain off <<less

This story was simply beautiful. At the beginning, it felt a bit boring because it only told about MC and ML's daily life in his eden but as the mystery being unraveled bit by bit, I somehow got carried away by it. There's also a character development from both FL and ML.

ML was a yandere who was super obsessed with FL. It didn't change throughout the story but he began to respect FL opinion regarding of her memories and he also tried to fulfill her wish with his power.

He wasn't alone because MC also cherished him a lot and tried to be mentally stronger in order not to make him worry and so she could stand by his side proudly. It must be hard on her since the trauma she received in the past wasn't light but she finally overcame it with the help of ML.

It's a rather sweet story, it has darker moments, but plenty of fluffy moments too. FL is amnesiac as per title and the story follows her piecing her feelings and mind back to ultimately deal with her past. The story is not too long, the length is perfect for this story, it doesn't drag on needlesly and translation is good.

This is a simple and short story yet I'd like to call it a masterpiece. I love how everything is consistent. The characters, the plot, the theme, heck their chemistry even. I love it all.

By consistent, I mean that, the plot didn't have any sidetracked details or unnecessary scenes. Almost every part is important to the whole story. The characters, mainly focused on ML: Silvio, and FL: Lillidia. There are some side characters like Chloe and the other Emperor but they're just addressed to when needed to the story. Other... more>> than them, there were no other extra characters which I'm glad that's the case, as multiple characters for a short story like this would probably end up not so short or a bit messy in terms of the story's direction.

Their chemistry, omg, I love them so much. When I first started this, I did thought that maybe she'd be scared of what he did to her and run away or just simply do smthng. But while she was scared, she didn't hate him tho, so in the end she also didn't run away. The point is, I love how it shows how she does love him because you tell me, would you stay with someone that did that to you? Personally, I don't think I will, so I like that it shows how she feels for him. Also, it started dark like how obviously possessive he is of her, since he erased her memories instead of killing her like she wanted, but I also love that he ended up not erasing her memory again when she found out. He was still terrified that she'd try to run away or kill herself, but he forced himself to listen because she confessed that she loves him right before fainting. Judging by his character, he probably worried himself all that time whether it was right to let her remember the past or to just confine her like he wants. But still in the end, FL wasn't against being together with him (aka confined) because she also loves him, she doesn't have anywhere to go other than his side. Still, she knows that if they don't talk about the past, it'll hold a chain against the MLs neck that will just continue to hurt him til the end. That's when their communication starts and I love this part so much. Their characters didn't exactly change, he's still obsessed with her and constantly wants to lock her up, but he's trying to lower it down and tell her stuff he wants to do as a way of respecting her wishes, just as how she's still kind and loving as she was in the past, but now she's also trying to understand his perspective more, unlike before that their social status were like an invincible wall between them, at the ending part, there were no such thing as status, just lovers trying to love one another.

Nonetheless, they're both broken people so it's not a surprise they grew up more twisted than others, more feeling unworthy of the other so they couldn't communicate properly in the past. This present time seems like both of their redemption arc or some sort and it definitely fits so well. <<less
