First take after 40 chapters: It's an interesting FanFiction of the Dragon Raja Novel/Manhua/Game series. The story has its good parts and its bad parts, and the translation is good, but not perfect.

You can read it without being familiar with Dragon Raja, but there are times where things happen that don't really make sense -> then you realize those things are happening because its what happens in original parts of Dragon Raja, not just because the author wants it to happen.

    ----- Full Review (thus far)

You ever hear... more>> the expression "that went from zero to 100 real quick?"

The first 3 chapters of this story really feel like the Author looked at that saying and went:

"That's cool and all, but what if instead of zero to 100, we made it zero to 9 F*CKING TRILLION!"

The spoiler box below this is my live reaction while reading chapter 3:

    Spoiler

(Go read chapters 1-3 first if you want to fully understand the context.)

    ------

    My live reaction:

Escaped Grandmaster Martial Artist Lu Chen (our MC) fleeing the Federation in a world where the era of superpowers has just begun, watch as our MC begins to regain his strength!

    F*ck yeah! LETS GO!

Teams of soldiers hunting him down? Y'all can't do jack sh*t to our boy Lu Chen!

That bullet barely hurt him, MC revenge gon be sick as fuc-

    WAIT

    WHAT THE F*CK

DID THEY JUST F*CKING NUKE HIM?!

    THEY DID!

    ?!?!

    BRO

    BRO HES F*CKING DEAD

THEY REALLY JUST F*CKING NUKED HIM

    ITS ONLY CHAPTER 3

AND THE MC IS ALREADY F*CKING DEAD

    ?!?!?!?!?!?!?

    WHAT

    ...

    ...

    ...

(sudden realization that this is how 99% of OP MC revenge novels would go if they were even slightly realistic)

    ...

well okay then, I guess we're dead

    (continues reading)

    wait uh

okay, we are no longer dead, now we are... transmigrated?

    WAIT

    Now we have a system?!

    WAIT WAIT

MC now has a system that gives missions?! In a... new world?!?

    BRO I SAID F*CKING WAIT

THE F*CK IS THIS 'ORIGIN SPACE'?!

ayy yo look, the MC's luck stat is tr*sh

bro I could've told you that

    he just got f*cking nuked

    WAIT

WHY THE F*CK IS THE MC SO CALM ABOUT THIS

IM FREAKING OUT MORE THAN HIM

    BRO HE'S LIKE:

"Ah, I'm dead. They nuked me. Classic Federation, smh."

"Guess I'll go do some of these handy new missions. Those Origin Points look lit af!"

    HOW IS HE SO CHILL

    WTF LU CHEN

BRO YOU JUST GOT F*CKING NUKED

AND YOU JUST GOT THIS SYSTEM AND THESE MISSIONS

YOU DONT EVEN F*CKING KNOW WHAT ORIGIN POINTS ARE

    BRO

    B R O

    me: *visible confusion*

    ----

It's, uh, definitely a unique start.

I'm still down to keep reading it, sh*t still looks interesting.

but god damn if that nuke didn't catch me the f*ck off guard, lmaooo

    [collapse]

    That part was wild.

Anyway, I've read up to chapter 40 of the translation, and chapter 41-100 of the original Chinese text.

The MC is a chad badass and the setting is deep, but part of that is because its a FanFiction. The plot itself is interesting but at times it drags on and on and on. Scenes that should end in one chapter sometimes take 3, 4, or even 5.

Also, there are random parts of the story I just dislike, like this scene:

    Spoiler

MC is sitting in a theater.

MC watches as a serial killer begins mu*dering everyone else in the theater.

MC sees the killer start to target the guy next to him.

Verbatim line from the story: 'Since they were both Asians, he thought he should save him.'

(me: uh, I mean, feels a little racist but whatever, lets save him)

MC immediately jumps into action by doing the following:

Verbatim line from the story: ' "Hey, " Lu Chen uttered.'

    ...

The literal next line of the story: 'The next moment, that man covered his neck and fell to the ground.'

    BRO WTF

ALL YOU DID WAS SAY "HEY"

IF YOU THOUGHT YOU SHOULD SAVE HIM

THEN WHY THE F*CK DID YOU JUST SAY "HEY" AND THEN WATCH HIM DIE

    ....

    [collapse]

One more part I didn't really like happened right after that scene:

    Spoiler

After the serial killer mu*ders everyone else in the movie theater...

Our MC frowns, feels confused, and asks the serial killer why he killed all these random innocent civilians.

The story then looks at the MC's beliefs and past, verbatim going: 'He was a Mystic Warrior and a soldier who could destroy his enemies on the battlefield without blinking his eyes. However, he could never bring himself to kill the civilians, so he couldn't understand why the man would do such a thing.'

    BRO

    LU CHEN

YOU JUST SAT THERE AND WATCHED HIM KILL THEM ALL

    YOU COULDVE EASILY STOPPED HIM

YOU EVEN DECIDED TO SAVE ONE GUY (for questionable reasons)

BUT THEN ALL YOU DID WAS GO

    "Hey."

    BRO

'... he could never bring himself to kill the civilians.'

YOU LITERALLY JUST SAT THERE AND WATCHED ALL THESE CIVILIANS DIE

    Meh.

I know it's not exactly the same, but it just feels contradictory.

    [collapse]

Also, later down the road, the MC investigates the Japanese branch and there is a lot of not-so-subtle Anti-Japanese sentiment/writing/racism.

I always hate things like that.

    .

    3/5

    .

Note: It's an interesting world background and the MC is a chad, but the draggy story, somewhat piecemeal nature of the book as a FanFiction, and the sometimes oddly worded or phrased translation see me give it a 3/5.

The anti-Japanese stuff is not super prevalent so its pretty easy to ignore, otherwise I'd bump it down to a 2/5. <<less
