Read via machine translation, which was extra entertaining because it kept translating "young lady" as "prostitute". For plot, it's exactly as advertised. Anyone who reads this subgenre has an idea of how it will go. But the plotting and pacing were very well-executed. Additionally, all the villainesses were given ACTUAL motivations. Lot of pathos in this story, but somehow avoids being a complete angst-monster. I really liked the contrast between familial relationships, tho it was a very minor part of the story, it was excellently done. My only minor complaint... more>> is I would have liked the ending to be just a teensy bit less rushed. The last bit of the last chapter was a super short epilogue with no pacing and a lot of telling. Still a really solid piece of writing, even when processed through mtl. <<less

It should be called, ‘Shock! This novel is mediocre!’, honestly idk why I read everything, I even went ahead to MTL it, it was acc rly bad. The MC was a fool. Her logic:

”Oh, I know this person hates me. I know they want to kill me... in fact they did me mad dirty in my previous life... nghhh! Wtv I’m overreacting rn.”

*proceeds to screw her over*

... more>> ”Argh! I knew it!!!”

LIKE??? She never even faced anything for her foolishness cause immediately the male lead would arrive and save her ass, w/o the male lead this novel would prolly be over in like 10 chapters. Towards the end of the novel the malicious as*hole (the transmigrator) lost everything and had nothing else to lose. The system told her that if she kills the MC she’ll get the stuff she lost back, the MC KNOWS the girl wants to kill her... goes w it, get’s in an accident, what was her logic?

”Well I knew my man would save me🥺”

Genuinely was so done w the novel. Also every1 was ridiculously foolish, her mother and brother ngl only stuck w her cause she made an effort to fight back against the transmigrator for their affections, her fiancé she made no effort w him (I don’t blame her I wouldn’t either) but like why did he have to suffer the most out of all the characters 💀 like the pure evil ppl either just got killed immediately or only got the consequences of their actions, this guy that hardly did anything wrong except picking the transmigrator bit*h over the MC (which wasn’t even his fault because she f*cking used her system powers in him??) still suffered the most? And like it wasn’t enough the author made him infertile too???

then there’s the villainess. God I hated this b*tch. I had to resist skipping every scene she showed up in, she had the tenacity of a f*cking c*ckroach, no matter how much u stump she’s still gonna wriggle and try to fight back, the author made her absolutely brain dead. Like let’s be real, the MC wasn’t smart, the bad guys were just foolish, if they gave the villainess the iq of a normal person, an iq that wasn’t in the negatives, she’d have dog walked the MC. Honestly it was a bad read. <<less

This story is quite good with a good pace. MC tried to do everything by herself, ML only covered her up. They have good chemistry. Their previous live got me tearing up ... more>>

after her death, ML went berserk. He killed the transmigrator and her ex fiancee. MC saw it all through some kind of dream while she was praying for ML when he was in comatose during present time. When he killed those 2, she couldn't be seen or touched, but when she goes to the palace, the maids and him can see her. So she lives with him in that 1st life while her real body is sleeping in the 2nd life. He used forbidden techniques to make her come back alive, but she's not really alive. They solved the previous timeline, where I cried a bucket and they started their relationship in current timeline for real.

This is similar to other stories of the same genre. There isn't anything particularly innovative about it, but in my opinion the writing was good and the plot seems quite solid.

MC is quite likeable, hardworking and isn't a pushover, but isn't overbearing either. Up to chapter 47 she hasn't done anything s*upid, and she has been able to avoid being schemed against by the transmigrator girl (the exception was the one time the transmigrator girl used some system bonus to force MC to do something and she couldn't avoid it,... more>> but ML used his special ability to help her then). She's not useless, nor does she need ML to interfere on her behalf constantly. At least up to the point I've read.

I haven't made up my mind about the ML yet. He has helped FL a few times, but not so much that it becomes annoying. My only reservation with him is that he's showing signs that he may turn into an overbearing ML type in the future, which I hope won't happen, because I like how independent MC is. ML seems to have some mysterious ability over systems.

As for the Transmigrator Girl, she's an idiot, and also quite annoying. She completely relies on the system for everything, and is absolutely useless without it. In the last life, MC was a victim of the system, but in this life MC can hear the system, so MC was able to avoid being schemed against. The system is a bit interesting, because it can force other people to do things, even if the person is aware of it. It's impossible to resist without a special ability. <<less

Spoiler alert, I may spoil in this review

First of all I specifically made a account to point out at this novel's portrayal of women and I should applause this novel for the disappointment it gave that my lazy as& is ready to finally review, I think this novel is narrow minded while I do agree that most girls in ancient times were shackled by society and did have self defeating mentality but even they had strong will and sanity but this novel straight up portrayed them as dogs begging for... more>> love /no jokes. They are crazily trying to get love from a man who already rejected them and su*cide when he rejected them or voluntarily following someone to a brothel because maybe then he will pay attention, like literally every girl is hopelessly entangled with a man with no thinking of themselves just trying to be his concubine or lover? Come on now...... I think the author was trying to show the women of ancient times so hard they went overboard a little the only sane person in this matter is the transmigrating girl who is a villian

Second the MC, no matter how high and mighty MC is shown as, even she is behaving mad in front of ML you would think she lived more than others she will be rational but no even when she knows it's a dream and it's gonna hurt her and ml, and like a chapter ago she was sane and all trying to solve his heart demon, all of sudden now she is madly trying to keep him from knowing her conditions, and I can't excuse this behavior with she loves him or love is blind lol

MC while I do agree she is self conscious she know her limits but as much as she is portrayed as having her own thoughts, stubborn and blah blah you never see her with these characteristics because she is given way by ML or her mother without much thinking with sentence I know she is stubborn and have her own thoughts, she never really gets a chance to do anything except maybe 2 times honestly because she us either waiting for ML (her lines) or ML or major general character are ""MAGICALLY"" there for her in EVERY problem which is another disappointment,

Third of all the interactions and communication, like there was a time the system and villian forced MC to do something in a banquet but MC was enduring and it was painful she got shocked and everything and it went for long minutes and I can't help and be like is everyone else dead (??) And communication, like seriously is the whole "HOU" Mansion deaf or something Villian does every disgusting thing she can and heads of house are clueless? I refuse to accept that such big moves from villian for example getting parents from outside can't be discovered by heads but they seem so clueless that it hurts.

All on all it's a ok read

To serious readers if you can ignore the s*upidity that flows in vines of everyone in the plot, you will discover novel writing style is good maybe you will enjoy that

Also maybe the other 3 "5" Star reviews got my hopes too high sadly 🤣🤣 so, 3 stars from me just because I find the idea of hearing system and all interesting and writing skills are solid.

Its readable, but not clever or romantic

MC is blah. Little personality. Very damsel. Very distressed. Relys heavily on the ML saving her life at the last second (multiple times).

ML is blah. Mix the CEO trope with the playground bully trope, but poorly. He feels way younger than he is. The behavior is just childish, not attractive. Hes got a tragic backstory of being the neglected prince in the harem... but his behavior is spoiled favorite youngest prince that walks sideways because of connections (not so much ability).

The romance is blah.... more>> Their secret fated childhood meeting would be any other neglected prince's road-to-revenge story.

MC literaly frames him for a crime... but then gives him candy and he tricks her into climbing a wall & breaking her head? so he fell in love and that justifies his YEARS long obsession? It makes no sense.

MC cant do anything alone except narrate the events of the story. She cant stop or alter anything on her own. ML is constantly saving her with over the top golden finger moves and it makes you wonder how things even went wrong in her first life since she hasnt actively fixed anything in this life.

It seems like the author wants a strong female lead but doesnt understand how to make one <<less
