I loved this. I have a soft spot for short stories, especially ones with a twist like Matthia likes to do. Please understand, short stories are a snapshot. They aren't about deep plot or character development. They are a moment, a feeling, an idea. And with this collection, its important to read all the chapters to see the whole thing. Give it a chance, you'll find it's worth it!

The whole thing was just wow. I was very curious at how the stories would connecting the end, and the revelation left me in awe.

Regarding the individual stories, I liked them all! The first three were kind of light and funny, I laughed with them. While the last three were more dark, I suffered with them.

The stories are connected but you don't get to know how until the end. So make sure you finish this one.

There are definitely horror elements although it's not really present in every chapter. I was really moved emotionally by the character introduced in chapter 7 and 8. I kept trying to put myself into his head and wondering what his life might be like.

ExR does really quality translations and this one was a good and unique pick.

I really like Matthia's work, and Exiled Rebels do a great job translating as always. These short stories are not fluffy dog food stories, and one in particular was a bit dark. If that is what you are looking for, then this is a great read. It also is just 8 chapters, and can be read slowly or all at once. I personally liked having something short and different to read while taking a break during the day.
