Liang Xiao, our male lead, is a kind-hearted and a bit shy young man.

• His childhood was full of terrible experiences, being tortured by his foster parents who kidnapped him.
• Weiwei helps him come out of that dark past, it creates the magic among them.
• He's portrayed as gentle, thoughtful, and sometimes lost in his thoughts.
• Liang Xiao's warmth and genuine care for Yan Qiwei make him truly lovable.
• He shows growth as he deals with his emotions and the trauma he has faced. The 'letterhead' chapter and ss will show you just how much he missed her when she left him.

Honestly, this novel didn't grab me at first, especially during the first initial translation phase. But man, when I went to chapter 41, my entire perspective did a complete 180. Suddenly, I was right there in the thick of it, feeling every ache, every heartache, every burst of love that the characters experienced. Chapters 40-41, 45, and 48? Those are the game-changers, my friend. They make you appreciate why Chapters 1-39 and 42-44 were crucial to the story. I cried so much. I'm talking tears, buckets of them. It's been four days and I'm still swimming in this ocean of emotions. That's exactly why I gave this novel a solid 5-star rating.

I didn't like Xia Meng at first, but turns out she's also a transmigrator!!

Sister, this is what they call 'an old friend in a foreign land.' Finally, someone is joining me in disrupting that ridiculous novel!"

ML's foster parents, who abused ML while he was with them, kidnapped MC and ML for randsom, but they intended to kill both of them anyway. MC manages to knock out the foster dad while he is beating ML. She tries to escape with him but they run into the foster mum, who stabs MC in the stomach with a knife. The MTL is not too clear on what happens after, but I think they fall into a lake and die or something like that. ML suffers from PTSD and guilt after that, so he needs higher care in some sort of institution as he gets nightmares and becomes crazy because of what happened.
