One day, Tim, an F Rank adventurer, suddenly starts seeing an unfamiliar screen in front of him. His own strength is displayed as numbers, and he gains the ability to allocate skill points and status points. When he tries acquiring the skill for experience points, his experience gain becomes twice as much. Similarly, obtaining a magic skill enables him to use magic. The protagonist, who has been ridiculed until now, embarks on a rapid rise to power.

This story seems to be aimed at middle schoolers. Neither the characters nor the world-building are very complex, but it's not a bad story, just a little bland.

The basic premise is that Tim lives in a world where some people can get skills, and a select few get unique skills. Tim has to struggle alone for a year, while getting taunted and ostracized by his peers, before he gets the unique skill that allows him to start on the path to being an OP Protagonist!

The best part of this story:

Spoiler

He has a realistic view of the people around him and how he's been treated. Guild receptionists mostly ignore him and chat with high-ranking adventurers because the high rankers make the guild money. It's a little depressing, but it's to be expected.

After he becomes strong, a priest girl more or less confesses her love for him and asks to join his party. She says she's always wanted to go on an adventure with him. He politely rejects her saying "then why didn't you?". She had left Tim alone to join a team with better ability, but terrible personalities. I love the fact that he calls her on her nonsense!

The title may sound like an isekai, but this is not an isekai. It flows similarly to one with the fantasy world, adventurers, status screen etc BUT this MC won't waste multiple chapters or paragraphs talking about Japanese food or searching for Tomatoes. Only reason this lost a star for me is the lack of an explanation of the setting. Not needed since the setting is seemingly the normal trope but would've set the stage better

This is buch of cliches strung together. Of course that's not a bad thing by itself. Tropes are tools and how you use them matters more than if you use them. Sadly this story is just nothing but cliches. Protagonist gets superpowers, his old cardboard villain old classmates who looked down on him gets faceslapped. Give it a couple years and you can let AI write stories at this level.

Tim, our protagonist is blander than flat bread. His only defining characteristic is his inferiority complex.

"... Despite being familiar, she gave me a glance and returned to chatting with another receptionist and a high-ranking adventurer. For the Adventurer Guild, adventurers who bring in a lot of money are naturally treated differently..."
