The FL died as an orphan at the age of 20 years old. Her parents died when she was 10. She thought that no one would care about her death but it turns out that the boy she had a crush on at school loved her. You could consider them childhood sweethearts. He left and went to study piano abroad without confessing to her but upon learning about her death he returns and is heartbroken. He always thought he'd have a chance when he returned but he was too late. Unfortunately, he is not the ML.

The ML is a film emperor who the FL has been a huge fan of for 8 years. He donated money that helped her after her parents died and because of this she became his fan. There is another connection between the two of them but I won't spoil it. When she transmigrates, she happens to become this film emperor's fiance.

The second thing I didn't like about the novel was how they ended things with her childhood sweetheart. I just felt so bad for that guy. I know it was his own fault for not confessing earlier when he had the chance but I'm just the kind of person who wants a happy ending for everyone I guess. I just wished the author had added on more chapters with him at least coming to a point where he works through her death properly. I'd like to imagine he falls in love again. He deserves his own story!

Which is ironic since ML actually had a crush on MC when she was his fan. If I recall correctly, they also chatted without MC knowing ML's identity while ML knew hers as his #1 supporter and his first fan, which naturally led to the ML having good feelings for her. In the chapter that I'm up to, ML mistakenly thinks his fiancée has been Kapok (MC's alias as his fan) all along, and immediately changes his attitude towards her. He has been gradually treating MC better throughout the story, but the assumption that his fiancée is Kapok seemed to have flipped a switch in him, especially since he has been denying that he has a crush on Kapok for the longest time. I'm not sure if the ML will eventually find out MC's true identity later on in the story, but I am hoping that he does.

Wen Quyi had long since liked Yu Mian, and it was heartbreaking to read how he arranged her funeral all on his own despite how devastated he was. We discover that he was abroad solely due to the fact that his mom promised to approve Wen Quyi's pursuit of Yu Mian if he finished attending the Mannister Conservatory of Music. He even tells his mom how much he regrets going abroad when he could have spent the last two years with her.

Wen Quyi does have a sneaking suspicion that Yu Mian is Yu MianMian (MC's current body) and relentlessly pursues her, but ultimately stops when he realizes that MC likes the ML. He's quite the pitiful character as he basically missed his chance to be with the MC twice (once before going abroad and now where she goes under the identity as ML's fiancée).

I can't help but think that in an alternate timeline, it would be nice to read about Wen Quyi coming back as a renowned musician and how he begins his pursuit of Yu Mian with a status that's equivalent to a celebrity's while she's a hardcore fan of another celebrity. I just feel like their relationship would have been much more natural than that of her relationship with the ML since Wen Quyi actually spent a lot of time with Yu Mian as childhood friends/neighbors.

But of course, ML and MC's relationship is still nice to read.
