Whether you enjoy this depends entirely upon three characters. The MC, old love interest, and new love interest. Each has significant enough screen time that a strong dislike for any will likely end up causing irritation with the story.

MC’s weird and a bit discordant. Kind of. The man was apparently the ultimate simp for old love interest, but a decade of rejection finally exhausted him as he died from cancer. That’s not quite how he comes off in the story, though that might be because it’s tempered by the way... more>> he interacts (ghosts) with old love interest.

New love interest is a mixed bag. She’s strongly implied to have some kind of mental illness, based off the title I’d say paranoia, and is explicitly mentioned using medication. Like MC, she’s a simp. Hinata to Naruto I guess. The background suggests that she’s an ice queen to her peers, but thats never quite shown. I personally find her kind of bland, but don’t dislike her character.

Old love interest starts the story as a run of the mill villainess, but seems to shift to heroine role as well. Honestly, out of the entire cast she’s the only one to have really seen character development. Not a tsundere, but not not a tsundere.

Honestly, her side of the previous relationship with the MC felt more natural once explained, but it was still pretty toxic from both ends in my opinion. But to be frank, when I think about it, the MC is kind of acting in the same way as she is, but with the benefit of plot induced regression.

I don’t know where old love interest is going, but I would be surprised if it ends in a relationship with the MC.

The rest of the cast seems to be limited in scope at the moment, content to fulfill their roles as side characters.

Plot so far is generic but well handled. The story reads naturally enough, if a bit slow.

Overall, I found it to be rather average. <<less

I only had enough for 8 chapters. Seeing the 4.6 rating, I thought maybe it was something good, but how wrong I was.

This novel can be described as a "cheap Chinese TV series" the characters of which behave not like real people but like actors in a theatrical production. Second-rate.

Speaking of heroes, they're all clowns. One clown has been chasing a bit*h for ten years who neglects him and rejects every confession. The second clown rejects for some unknown reason a tall, handsome, devoted, caring man, but is not shy... more>> at the same time to use him, behaving like scum. The third clown has been in love with the first clown for ten years and behaves like a martyr. She beat up the second clown twice but refuses to say why. They all behave absurdly.

You can call me cynical or callous, but I find such love novels funny and disgusting. A bonfire cannot burn forever without being fed with new firewood, just as love cannot exist without reciprocity.

The author's letter is like that of a typical low-grade Chinese novel. Dry and boring. I even skipped descriptions of the beauty of the heroines.

To sum up, this novel is not worth the time of either the translator or the readers. <<less

This novel reminded of that Fairly Oddparents episode of Timmy Turner wishing his emotions away, and Trixie Tang ended up saying, stop ignoring me, ignoring you. I will explain in spoilers on why that is

Spoiler

Xie Shu is a man that you would call a simp. He was pursuing Su Qianyi for 10 years (3 in highschool, 4 in college and 3 when he got out of college and landed himself a job). But Xie Shun got a disease that was terminal. So Xie Shu decided to confess to Su Qianyi for the final time. Of course, Su Qianyi rejects his final confession. Xie Shu felt he wasted his whole life for nothing. In Xie Shu’s final moment, a woman he knew visited him. The woman was begging Xie Shu to hold on to life. Obviously, the woman loved Xie Shu. Xie Shu died, but was surprised, when he regressed to his 3rd year in college days. Thus Xie Shu decided, that he will no longer simp for Su Qianyi in this life. So Xie Shu started ignoring Su Qianyi. Xie Shu no longer buys breakfast for her, or answer any of Su Qianyi’s calls. This is the part that reminded me of the Fairly Oddparents episode. Now Su Qianyi is now craving Xie Shu’s attention, but gets none from him. There was an online game that both Xie Shu and Su Qianyi played. In the past, Xie Shu would invite Su Qianyi to be in a team. But Xie Shu in that imcident, didn’t invite Su Qianyi. So Su Qianyi ended up in tears in bed. There was even a scene where Su Qianyi even looked at her phone to see messages from Xie Shu that would say good morning or good night, since he used to do this to her. But Xie Shu never sent any of this messages to Su Qianyi, after his regression to his past/current life. Xie Shu is now determined to a Su Qiany free life. Xie Shu’s determination of no more Su Qianyi in his life, is also thanks to Ruan Xianxi. Xie Shu regretted how he treated Ruan Xianxi in his the previous life/timeline. So the one Xie Shu played with in online as a team, was Ruan Xianxi (this was the night Su Qianyi was ignored and cried in bed). As for the messages of good morning and good night, also went to Ruan Xianxi. There are a lot of things I want to mention, but this it for now

[collapse]

There are currently 22 chapters as I wrote this review on NU. I’m looking forward to see what happens afterwards. I want to know if the campus belle will go crazy, and how MC will respond to her. If this isn’t your cup of tea, that’s fine. Everyone can have an opinion. <<less
