I like it. Read the free raws. Not groundbreaking, but story kept my interest. The description is correct, but kind of has a different mood from the novel. The MC is a transmigrating genius mage who wants to live a life of luxury. He inadvertently ens*aves the Demon Queen which throws a wrench into his plans, as it draws attention. Thankfully, the MC is a gifted liar and is able to get out of most situations that would put him in the limelight. MC is not a dense protagonist like a typical Japanese harem MC (it's a Chinese novel).

The main downside for me is that the worldbuilding is somewhat lacking. No geography, no politics, no detailed description of how spells work. Could be flushed out more.

How should I say this.. This novel is so horrible that rating it 1 star gives it injustice.. Yet I am still reading it for some odd reason and that is why I am giving it 1 star..

First complain is this harem?

The logic behind harem is 1 boy loves more than 1 girls and the girls also loves him.. Aside from the bad tsundare maid the other girls are technically transparent or has annoying background that MC can't touch..

While Harem element is present we have a HAREM fan service no touch which is very bad for a Harem novel.

2nd Complain is the MC OP?

The MC is technically OP but his character is not.. The author created a lucky pe*vert with a lazy character that don't like to stand out but always shows off one way or another..

At first it was good setting for an MC but the continuous nagging of saying that he doesn't want to stand out is quiet annoying.. He lack the resolve of responsibility like other MC..

While He knows he needed to support his sister and his maid he barely do anything in the story.. The MC don't take the initiative to earn money so they remain poor.. The MC NEVER EVER train as he was a walking cheat of OPness.. The MC fight bosses with thick plot armor..

To sum it up to this point the MC is strictly tr*sh and boring..

3rd complain horrible plot

I was started to get interested as they are fighting epic battle only to be slap with a predictable and boring plot..

Who is the enemy? A so called secret organization that appeared with a bang and suddenly disappear out of nowhere..

Who is the enemy? At this point everyone can be MC's enemies including his sister and maid..

Who is the enemy? Might as well call MC his own enemy as he is likely kill himself because of his s*upidity.. (Wait he already did kill himself due to his s*upidity but was save by plot armor)

Yup the only MC I read so far who often near death because of his s*upid action and only save himself because of plot armor..

I have plenty of complain on this novel but the three can sum it up..

It started good and I even thought I won't be satisfied because there's only 300+ translated chaps, well at first that's what I thought, just around a 100 chaps is enough, after the Princess Ying appeared around (70ish chaps) in the novel I began losing my enjoyment. The story became a plot where the MC is always being shamed and push around by others.

This is a harem novel, but it is very bias against the Male Protagonist. This is a harem where the Girls are the ones who came on top and the MC gets push around by girls but the MC doesn't mind he is still a simp for cute sexy girls whether it's his girl or another man's girl they're pushing him around and using him yet he's like a convenient s*ave who still go for it. (Really, what a nice guy)

I just can't read this anymore. Aside from the bias author, the mc's character is all over the place, he's so badly written. He sometimes act very mature but then turns unbearably childish, sometimes very smart but he turns dumb from time to time for the plot, sometimes he seems to be not bothered by girls but sometimes he's too bothered by them to the point he'll stammer so much like "Ah- eh- e- H-he-hello!" It is very unbearable.

This novel is written by Female so in her pov a dumbo childish MC looks cute I guess? I mean I kinda see it why—imagine a little sister acting childish and s*upid yep I got it very cute indeed. But men wouldn't enjoy this kind of sh*t oh dear author.

I have such mixed feelings about this series. And I can't tell if how I feel about is just personal grievance or that it's actually bad. So keep that in mind as you read this.

It's hard to put it all into words. Ultimately I just hate this vibe of this series. Every one of the characters is horrible. I can't really say there is anyone person I like and that includes the MC. They're all just a**holes and all of their relationships revolve around mostly verbal, occasionally sexual, and sometimes... more>> physical ab*se. I just get so sick of the characters speaking horribly to and of each other constantly. That's with the exception of a single character and her relationship with the MC but it's already heavily hinted that she's a two-faced bit*h that will turn into an enemy at some point.

It's like another person said it's like watching two tsundere's in a relationship. Except EVERYONE acts like that with that one exception.

I kept reading it hoping and thinking that something would change but finally, I realized it isn't. Even if they get together I know they're still gonna act the same. And I'm just fed up with it. I place huge importance on the characters and I can't continue reading a series where I can't stand a single character. And the plot basically revolves around character interaction. There's not much there besides that. Which my complaint with most Chinese novels is that they gloss over the character interaction too much. So I should be happy about this series, right? I probably would be if the interactions weren't agonizing and soul-sapping to read.

And the MC is awful. He just upsets me. I can handle an MC being a bad person but what I can't stand is how damn inconsistent he is. Oh, he claims he wants to live a life in peace with no trouble but he constantly invites trouble into his life. He acts like a horrible person that does anything to his benefit one second but he can't bring himself to kill the demon king who literally wants him dead and constantly threatens and even directly and intentionally disrupts his "simple" life constantly. A lot of these anti-hero protag series will balance it by having an evil MC that has principles and boundaries that he won't cross and being kind to the people he cares about. But this character doesn't really have anything? It's like you can't figure him out and he makes no sense whatsoever. He's so damn flippy floppy and is like that with every single thing and I cannot deal with it anymore. You could argue that this is good character writing as real people tend to act like this as it is the basis of his selfish nature. But I just know I'm sick of it after 139 chapters. <<less

TL DR: it's bad. Unless you get off on seeing characters get put into bad situations they don't get out of run don't walk away from this novel.

Idea is nice. And story overall is pretty interesting. Problem is that it's boring. Characters from one glance are very realistic but from another point of view their actions are very illogical.

So about characters

1. People complain that MC and Maid are tsundere. But let's be frank from maid point of view MC is like dog for you. Did you ever wanted to have a s*x with dog? Same for MC. He wants her body, he wants to have beautiful s*ave but he also knows that this is a cat, an... more>> enemy of humanity. Also for me it would be also hard that I love somebody who openly hates me. Look how easily said this words to human girl

2. The feelings of assasin are also rather logical I think. She was trained from childhood so it's hard for her to accept random guy. But she is still young girl

So I really think that story has one of the best showings of characters feelings without plain explanation.

But here is the catch - it's just about feelings. Actions are plain s*upid.

1. For example MC wants plain simple life without risks. And for this he needs go study in academy for several years trying to become replacement of hero? Do you really think nobody will involve second most powerful person in war? Or that hero who fight on front lines will die from old age? So much efforts to eventually still go to the war.

2. Assasin who forgets who leaves peice of cloth with her blood after assasination...

3. Little sister who decides to send frigging monster to her beloved brother...

So overall story is nice but the discrepancies in actions and loooong boring chapters about interactions annoy me too much <<less

I'm on chapter 58 and the novel is starting to lose my interest with the way the MC decide to do everything. He get push around by his "maid" constantly getting threaten and just puts up with it. They show him as a hard head strong MC but he always getting push around and just goes with it. It gets so annoying. I did enjoy this novel. The protagonist isnt someone who are kind and good, he is actually pretty evil as he does anything possible that could benefit him. Although he is actually just damn lazy.

Actually, im also like that in real life so I feel myself relatable. I didnt save stranger just because I have power and knowledge, and mostly do something that could benefit myself in foreseen future, I will endure the hardship. The MC of this novel also this kind of character, moreover he's schemer and trickster.

There's a lot time he's in danger and about to be discovered, somehow, all other character simply doesnt get to know. Even neighbor doesnt find anything amiss when his home broke oof. Also his maid pretty ANNOYING, literally because MC got pushed arround by her and the tsundere just going too strong.

Plot, somehow structured and the enemies isnt really come out of nowhere. Some character sometimes has their own pov to explain the character itself. One of decent fantasy CN novel with op MC that doesnt use drug and face slap moment as plot so far.. Im really thankful.

Look the main character is both lazy but kind of sly, the maid is sarcastic and berrates him a lot. It contains fantasy tropes and a level system. Look I cant express why I love it, but I just do

my favorite character is Elena. She is a tsundere and it is not a temporary phase but her general character. If you love tsundere and are disappointed when the girl steps out of the tsundere phase by accepting her man, this novel is for you. Elena and lin xiao slowly come closer to each other however that is only in terms of hearts and actions. In their daily life they bicker all the time and elena is teased a lot. lin xiao and elena were trying to save her aunt. Elena was helpless. She starts crying in his arms and even tries to offer her body to him for saving her aunt. Saving her aunt is out of lin xiao's power but for her he comes up with a brute force method. Lin xiao strains himself for the entire night for helping her and falls asleep on the floor, she finally relaxed after seeing that aunt was not in danger. Now, before picking him up she places her foot on his chest to establish dominance.
