“Come home with me.”

As the head of the Xie family, Xie Huaizhou suffers from pheromone deficiency syndrome, requiring highly compatible comforting-type Omega assistance therapy—kissing, hugging, and tender care.

Among the crowd, he chooses Gu Jinyi.

Beautiful, gentle, and alone, Gu Jinyi even exudes the scent of red tea that he likes.

/Gu Jinyi, 26, lost his most important loved one overnight—his in-name-only partner, Chu Miyun.

To protect the child left behind by Chu Miyun, he had to sign a contract and voluntarily become Xie Huaizhou’s “medicine,” also becoming Xie Huaizhou’s “wife.”

Pheromone deficiency syndrome, also known as “bereavement syndrome.”

—Your pheromone is the only antidote for me.

Tips:

Steadfast and assertive head of the family (Alpha) × Beautiful and gentle widower (Omega)
The Omega had a former spouse and child, but the child is not his biological child, and the former spouse is only a friend.
There may be some melodrama, but it’s a Happily Ever After (HE) ending.

I love it!

The misunderstanding trope in this one is significant enough that it doesn't leave you frustrated. The angst is just enough. At first though I'm confused with the timeline.

Well anyway, I can get behind ML's fear, he's s*upid and made dumb decisions but I understand where he's coming from. So it doesn't leave me frustrated.

Gu Jin Yi's reaction is also justified, his forgiveness and road to it is also valid. It's not too prolonged, but also it's not given easily, there's enough thought behind it, and I love that... more>> for him.

Not too much about the baby though, and I wish they had more side stories.

Translation is 💯 <<less

Well, I kinda angry with the MC. We know that he is suffering but the ML also suffering for the same year as he is. But he only focus on himself.

He also know the pain of losing beloved one, and almost died himself but he didn't cherises lifes. What if the ML suddenly fell so ill and on his sick bed, than the MC will regret it so much.

It was a nice, casual read. Two lovers separated by time and misunderstandings due to inevitable evils surrounding them.
And they got together and it wasn't dog-blooded as they communicated and confirmed each other's past circumstances which led to the tragedy.

A fairly straightforward omegaverse novel, with a bit more drama at the end, but overall sweet. Wouldn't call this a standard crematorium as neither character does anything unforgivable, but both inadvertently suffer quite a lot from each others past actions. My heart hurt for both, but it didn't end up making me cry, so I'd say this is relatively safe to read in public without a breakdown.

The reconciliation process was more dramatic than I expected, and the handling of their backstory fell short for me as it felt like MC... more>> was so stuck in his own head the whole time that he never fully understood that ML had been suffering the whole time just as much, if not more:
Spoiler

The line where MC finally is ready to forgive ML being that "he was unwilling to let Xie Huaizhou suffer as much as him" misses the mark for me, as ML literally has been suffering just as much the entire time already. It's not like ML was having a great time on his own, being locked up and nearly killed by his family and then watching the love of his life marry someone else. Not to mention the pheromone disorder which gets brushed aside until the last moment but supposedly is so painful that people have committed su*cide before because of it??

When MC finally comes back he still is thinking to himself that he's "compromising" to ML by returning because he loves him and doesn't want him to suffer. I'm sorry but what do you even mean...????

[collapse]

While MC is valid in his pain, the novel glossed over ML's suffering a lot more than I would have liked and only really gave MC the space to vent. MC's thought process really confused me and the reconciliation was definitely very one sided in that all the fault was put on ML, but they're happy together so I think I'm the only one upset.

Also on a plot point that still bothers me:
Spoiler

ML tells MC that he'll tell MC what he likes about him once MC is also in love with him, but the discussion gets lost in all the drama so we are in fact never told in the novel the reasons why.

[collapse]
It's just a bit funny because MC actually has no discernible character traits beyond being stunningly beautiful, so I can't even imagine what it is that made ML so obsessed with him.

It's a relatively short read, and the translation quality is good! Neither of the main characters are well developed and the kid from MC's past marriage honestly doesn't have much of a role in the story, but I do always enjoy this author's writing. Probably not my favorite work of theirs, but it's a decent read. <<less

Man... normally I try to write this after I finish it but I can’t seem to continue ヽ (´□`。) ノ I am lacking motivation...

I feel torn about this one... I think I liked the premise? It has a lot of potential? But idk, maybe it’s bc it’s already a little older (2021) but the write style was meh... (the translation is def on the better side, but maybe some things were also lost in translation, I don’t know ^^‘) I just didn’t get the right feeling when reading.... more>> It was not heartbreaking enough for me to cry, but also not uhm badly written (??) so that I wouldn’t feel nothing. Like, , , hard to put into words haha

I agree with damnmei that MC... well I couldn’t really grasp his character of what made him special? He was exceptionally beautiful, angelic, was very gentle and yeah... I mean normally I don’t care all too much, I like gentle characters hehe
Spoiler

but here he suffered too much and behind all the gentleness is a broken heart?? Like, , , yes he’s gentle, but it’s also only used as a mask? : (

[collapse]

To ML... tbh sometimes I also didn’t really understand him! I didn’t get to his story part yet, but after reading the spoiler, , ,
Spoiler

he seems to also have suffered a lot! I agree that even before the reader knew what happened, a lot of emphasis was on MCd pain but... clearly ML was also suffering a lot.

[collapse]

Okay now my thought are just jumbled together (?) can’t think properly but two points that kind of stood out to me were:

1. MLs Rut episode

Spoiler

The moment he went kind of feral and well... where the narrator basically praised him for holding back not hurting his Omega? And how it’s normal that when their partner tries to flee they won’t hold back from hurting their partner? Man... like, it’s not a problem with the author, many stories have these societies, it’s just sad to see that it’s expected of us to kind of praising ML for holding back from hurting MC??? Goodness, why can’t they build a world where ABO can kind of coexist well enough, , , anyone can live with whoever they want bc medicinal technology is well developed and majorly prejudice (SINCE ITS A FICTIONAL WORLD) anyways, I enjoy my fare share of ABO but I also wish there were some idealistic world in which they can coexist without hurting each other...

[collapse]

2. What was the point of these characters and their story??

Spoiler
  1. for once the Liu guy and the Wen guy who are also married and known that the Omega is tired of him (his feelings areprobably exhausted) so the Alpha is trying to coax him (with material stuff). Their marriage is not working out well, but I really didn’t understand why they were mentioned...
  2. The Yan Liu or smth Alpha guy from the art studio MC worked in? Like yeah he secretly fell in love with MC but point was??? I like secret admires and yeah... I feel like maybe his only purpose was to show how good ML is for holding back blah blah bc this guy looked like he was contemplating taking advantage of MCs heat? Welp... tbh I feel like, he seemed quite gentle? As in he secretly admired MC, and that was quite heartbreaking to read and then of course MC is not tpuched or anything. Tbh since I didn’t know MLs story and how he was hurt, I wanted MC to just find someone completely new, no ties to ML or anything and just live a comfortable life somewhere welp then this guy was suddenly portrayed as some wannebe beast in which ML rushes in to the rescue...
[collapse]

Oh also, the child played less a role as I expected. As many MC and ML couples, they just give their child to some nanny to take care of... :D idk if there is a child I WANT INTERACTION WITH THE CHILD AHDKANS I read this for the childcare haha ANYWAYSSS

Actually it’s quite a good story, I just tend to remember parts that I don’t like more than the ones that I liked ^^‘ it’s quite short so yeah do give it a try~

I don’t know when I will continue reading this... maybe I will also stop here though then id feel like I’ve wasted my time reading all those chapters haha well, maybe I’ll come back and finish this review if I finish this :) <<less
