Chen Shijin was known to everyone as a mute. He hadn’t uttered a word since he was three years old. As a result, countless people wildly bullied and mocked him throughout his life. Yet, he remained unmoved, his eyes filled with pity.

Until that day, when the skies poured red rain, and the gate of fate opened. Under the torrential rain, Chen Shijin, looking at his fiancé and cousin who were involved in an affair and cursing him, uttered his first words in 23 years.

“Tr*sh. Promiscuous jerks.”

Fiancé/Cousin: How dare you speak like that?! No, wait, how can you speak at all?!

Before they could react, they both fell into the land of exile. And then, monsters roamed, in a world where the strong prey on the weak. The fiancé and cousin’s private parts indeed rotted away.

While everyone feared this bizarre and dark world of death, Chen Shijin smiled joyously at the demons, devils, ghosts, and monsters.

Foolish beings! I could speak at eight months! I greeted my ancestors at a year and a half!
At two, I turned in a wanted criminal on TV with a single word.
At three, my words predicted the eruption of Mount Little Sun!
And that golden mountain decoration in my home that’s yet to be carved? Created by my very words!

I remained silent for the sake of world peace!

But now, in the land of exile.
After holding back for 23 years!! Finally! I can openly challenge these demons and monsters!

“Awesome!!”

Demons and monsters: ???
Terrifying world: Shut up! Don’t come over here, aaaah!

This novel is really, really good. In some ways, you could say it's similar to some of the infinite flows out there, especially to "My Ideal Town, " so if you liked that one, you'll probably like this one.

But, there was one thing that made this novel really unique to me. Reading this novel really made me think about my own habits; it addresses a few elements of modern society that made me truly reconsider some things in my own behavior and at times, made me slightly uncomfortable in a... more>> good way, in the kind of way where it really makes you critically think.

Spoiler

In the land of phones, everyone brought their phones into the bathroom with them to listen to music/play games, and that's how some of them died. When I thought about it, it was crazy. We do bring our phones into the bathroom with us, and that's not only gross but also kind of scary. We're practically glued to our phones.

The second thing that really bothered me was in the land of beauty. Hearing descriptions of people forcing themselves to be skinny or fat as the standard changed made me physically uncomfortable. I had to put down my phone multiple times. It really goes to show, skinny, fat, beauty standards change all the time but if you let them rule your life you might end up slowly killing yourself.

[collapse]

I also like how almost all the characters, at least the human ones, were redeemable (except for the fiancee, but you don't see him again). Other than what I mentioned, many parts of this novel are similar to other infinite flows I read, but regardless, it was very interesting, and I remained glued to the page. So if you like this kind of thing I really recommend you try reading it.

The one thing I'm sad about this that the free mtl doesn't go all the way till the end. I managed to find up until chapter 131, but I can't seem to find the last ten chapters for free and it's so annoying. Also word about the romance: it's good. Pretty similar to other infinite flows I've read (big bad overpowered male lead finds MC the only interesting one in the universe etc.) but it was good. <<less

It's not that I don't want to finish this, but there's no accessible remaining chapters of the novel. If someone found one, please kindly message.

I kinda got interested in reading this because a review mentioned it's similar to Ideal Town, which I just recently read. This novel is a UF where people get transported to the Exiled Land in which, they're in constant danger due to getting targeted by devourers. If they don't complete the missions in the places made by the devourers, they perish.

If they successfully escape, they win... more>> energy (= money) and live. This energy can also help their ability get upgraded.

Arcs = I would say it's a tale about humans, either their behavior or nature. I don't really like it as the author doesn't mention the protagonist's thought process on how he got to action (solution) and just poom! The protagonist springs to action.

Characters = I would say good, although I didn't really like how contrary the protagonist is. He is indeed a cruel individual, but he let go of his cousin, who constantly bullied him throughout his life. I just can't understand that, even though most of the bullying is like punching a cotton.

For the male lead, I would say he can be developed and explored more as there's not much to say about him; A pe*vert. I do think he's gonna be revealed more in chapter 133 onwards, but oh well.

The side character are there, but they're not explored that much.

Plot = A bit disjointed as the background of the character and settings came in interval. They're not even in the start and not even in one place. It made me disconnected to the real-world setting and characters (parents of the protagonist).

Overall, it's an okay novel for me. My main issue would probably be that the thought process of the protagonist isn't revealed. It made me feel not in the novel, like I'm just a spectator (although I am). It's clear that it is not my cup of tea. <<less

Recommend this novel for people who like unlimited flow. Side characters are well fleshed out and interesting, and the devourers (and their worlds) all have their unique traits and motives.

Warning for people who want to read romance that other than some playful flirting and interaction the main "couple" is ambiguous. As the author states in the synopsis the main character is Chen Shijin and Chen Shijin alone, any romance with the ML is not a main part of the story.

Leaving a bookmark for now until the MTL site (s) have the whole story.

It's been interesting so far, I like the spin on the horror aspect with real life addictions. That's a vague enough spoiler for you guys who are hesitant to read.
