I will start the review by saying that there is a serious consent issue in this story. If you're sensitive about that sort of thing and would like to include more, I elaborated in below spoiler tag (containing major spoilers).

The two main ones are:

1) When Yan Shiqing pretended to be someone else the first time she was intimate with Shen Qiaoyu and then began a relationship with her. In case you're not clear why this is a case of non-con intimacy, imagine agreeing to be intimate with A but then turns out A is actually B all along, who you did not consent to being intimate with.

2) When SQY found out the truth about Qingning's identity and in an act of revenge, proceeded to be very rough while being intimate with YSQ, despite YSQ asking, basically begging, her to stop multiple times. I don't even have to elaborate why this is bad.

There are smaller instances of non/dub-con in the story, but those two are unbelievably terrible, a shame considering they happen at the pivotal moments of this story, basically the things that move the plot forward so you can't skip even if you want to. The non/dub cons instances are excused (as always) because the characters are pretty and they eventually end up with each other, but I believe it's fair to warn those who might get triggered by them.

Even with the issues in this story, I won't say to avoid the story or that it's bad. Just take care of yourself and stop reading if you feel like it's a lot and might bring up unpleasantness in you. The writing isn't bad, and the plot is pretty clear despite some unbelievable scenes from many characters, including MCs that make you question your grip of reality because some of their actions can be very nonsensical.

Also what kind of cheap-a$$ variety show doesn't even provide microphones to its guests, especially when the show has such big stars in it??? Oh, mind you that the majority of the novel is just this cheap ass, borderline dangerous, very questionable variety show. <<less

Theres a lot of R rated scenes, I think it started from chapter 20 or might be from before that. I’ve been binge reading so I didn’t keep track.

I think many will really like it.

There’s definitely humour, or at least when I read it (I had to translate it myself to read up to chapter 26 because there aren’t any chapters past 3. This is how I read any new GL novel before I wait for the NU version) and I saw a lot of humour. This is not a “I secretly love her and we’re going to have a cute romance” nope, both MC and FL have strong personalities that clash but also touch each other in a way that we see both loving sides (puppy love) and humorous sides to them too (it’s not that they’re funny it’s just that their action make me go omg lmfao). I was surprised at how much I laughed every now and then.

Also, to the translator group translating this, don’t stop, you’re doing a great job. I promise the chapters get so much more fun. This is absolutely worth translating.

For readers, it’s worth the read, you get saucy chapters and you will be laughing every now any then. It never gets boring. <<less

As the other reviewer said, don't expect a chaste fluffy romance from this, lol. This novel is very sexually charged from the start. It's not exactly smut but the author is not at all squeamish about showing the characters attraction to each other on every level.

The story itself is honestly quite straightforward so far, there's not a lot of time spent on side characters, subplots or the ins and outs of the entertainment industry. The two female leads are 100% the focus, so let's talk about them a little.

Shen Qiaoyu's... more>> public reputation is that of a low tier villainess, basically. She gives off that "cold but beautiful" impression. However, I was pleasantly surprised by the reality of Shen Qiaoyu's character. She's strong, honest to a fault, hot-headed and hopelessly dense in some regards. She's also very, very pure in some ways. She falls in love fast and hard and immediately all she wants to do is brag about her girlfriend, she's the type that will do anything her girlfriend tells her to.

Yan Shiqing has the image of the flawless white lotus. Regardless of how many love scandals she has, or how much trouble she causes, she always seems to rise up with her reputation unscathed and universally beloved. In reality, Yan Shiqing is, to put it bluntly, a bit pe*verted, obsessive and manipulative. It's all very much played for comedy value and her little manipulations serves as the driving force of much of the plot. Anyone who is not a fan of this type of character might want to steer clear of this story because you can't really avoid it, this is very much who she is.

If Yan Shiqing's personality is not a hurdle for you, the story overall is pretty lighthearted and funny. It doesn't take itself too seriously and there are as many absurd moments as there are steamy moments. <<less

Yan Shiqing isn't thirsty, this girl is in the desert dehydrated.

It was fun for a few chapters, but having her thirst on Shen Qiaoyu who didn't even see her as a love interest and fully devoted to her online girlfriend was kind of off putting. Like, if Shiqing and Qingning were not one and the same, I would think that this girl is too obsessed and toxic, trying to bu*t into an already good relationship. At up to c36, clearly, Qiaoyu still doesn't even have an ounce of affection for... more>> her and once she finds out she got duped, its just gonna get worse (unless the author gives Shiqing the FL halo, where the MC falls in love with her despite how shitty she is anyway). Wish I could read more, but I'm just not connecting with Shiqing at all. <<less

It's not bad but like it's a bit s*upid. And I try and say this in the nicest way possible because without spoiling the story the way in which the MC logics her nonsense decisions is really one heck of a mental gymnastics. That coupled with the FL's misunderstanding and early bad decisions makes for a very frustrating scenario.

nothing is resolved yet. MC thinks FL is taking her for a fool because she pretended to be someone else to date MC but is pretending that the made up online gf is her best friend but is also seducing MC and FL thinks that MC has become a cheating scumbag for cheating on the online gf who is actually FL and worst still they are sleeping with each other under these pretext. Like wtf. The main story is 80 chapters and there is still a huge misunderstanding that literally just came out with no end in sight. I like cannot even.

I really did enjoy this story at the beginning. But as I kept reading further, it got a bit dodgy. I would say the characters and the story is well-written, so I kept reading. But, there's a lot of lies and consent issues involved. I gave this a three star because I enjoyed it enough to keep reading, but not enough that I would reread it again. Although the story isn't done yet, I'm close enough where I can see what's going to happen, and I don't like it. The... more>> ending feels really rushed and some things aren't that fleshed out. There's a lot of questions I have and with four chapters left, I know that if those chapters do answer my question, it'll be really rushed and not well-written. <<less
