Su Mu returned to his hometown during Qingming Festival to pay respects to his ancestors. In front of his grandfather’s memorial tablet, he lamented about his loneliness and said that he lacked a wife. However, when he woke up the next day, he discovered that he had transmigrated and became the rich and handsome young master of the Su family. To make matters more complicated, he was supposedly betrothed since childhood.

He heard that he was so obsessed with someone to the point of being self-destructive and was persistent from a young age, desiring to be with that person. Grandpa Su was so troubled by him and couldn’t help it anymore, so he tore off his old face and went to his rival’s house to beg for this arranged marriage for him.

Furthermore, it was said that the person he was infatuated with was an unparalleled beauty, so attractive that their admirers could go around the Earth several times hand in hand. Just going out for a walk, he could encounter all kinds of love rivals.

He had starry eyes, eagerly waiting for their engagement…

Su Mu pointed at the man with broad shoulders and long legs, who was so handsome that he couldn’t look directly at him, and turned around to ask the old man: “Who is this?”

The old man angrily hit him with a cane: “This is the husband you knelt and begged me for!”

Su Mu: “What?!”

Later, he discovered that he had transmigrated into a book, the setting of which was that same-s*x marriage was legal, and he was just a passerby in the early stages! Within days of getting married, he died!

#I’ll die in the second week after marriage!#

The main characters are fine enough, somewhat flat but still tolerable.
There's a mystery surrounding the original body owner that's mildly interesting.

What ruins it for me, is that the story is driven solely by coincidences and conveniences.
Things happen because it makes it easier for the writer, not because it's probable to happen or makes sense in any other way.
It was done so often that the novel is too artificial to still be fun.

Spoiler

MC happens to move into ML's complex, ML needs a dogsitter and MC happens to get the job, ML's dog happens to apparently be the dog MC had in his original life, because of that MC agrees to a fake marriage with ML so he can keep seeing the dog, MC happens to fall out of bed and find the hidden diary of the original body, etc.
And so on. Nearly all plot points are "happens to".

[collapse]

I haven't found any comedic undertones either, to me the characters aren't funny or entertaining, they are just childish in how petty and/or overboard they are.
The writer tells us a lot about how X someone is, domineering, friendly, warm, etc., but we hardly see any of it, and the moments that are shown, have very little to do with how this character is meant to be seen.
For example, being rude, degrading, or even insulting isn't "domineering like a big boss", it doesn't install respect in someone or makes them feel pressured.
It's called being an arse and usually leads to people hating that person, not respect them.

The little, mildly interesting mystery isn't enough to balance out the cons, I tried to get through it just to see the conclusion of it but the number of coincidences and conveniences keeps growing and new characters are worse than the earlier ones.
I just can't do it, it's not worth it.

Two stars because there's no abuse or anything seriously wrong, it's either a lack of writing skills or the writer not giving enough of a damn about the execution that kills it.
