Leaving 5 starsss definitely a good read! MC and ML had their own hard /sad experience Though ML has some sickness he still tries to overcome it and not truly scares MC. As you read the novel his love and care are shown though kinda clumsy but he tries his best. Mc's kinda afraid at first due to knowing something about the "villain" ML but worry not! He 'll see how good ML in flesh not the book chara is to him. Quick fun read. I got it done in about two days probably could have finished it faster if I wanted. The characters are nice, the ML was my favorite character out of everyone, imo he’s a bit of a black belly character. He’s very sweet with MC even if he’s being punishing. MC... the money grubber bit could be annoying if they over did it, like I thought it made sense since he grew in poverty and had to learn many skills to provide for himself so of course he’s... more>> money driven. But it could kill some of the romance for me.

Pretty detailed and concise, I’ve read similar stories that often drag out things. It calls itself an entertainment circle novel but it’s not really the main focus, I think MC only had to do 2 projects the whole novel. The second project was a good plot driver. Their relationship did feel more like obsession rather than romance, since MC helped ML at one of the worst moments of his life and getting him back was ML’s drive. But like I said they’re very sweet together and I wasn’t expecting a deep romance from a nearly 50 chapter story so what was written was enough, though the last extra wasn’t my taste at all, I just thought it was dumb.

ML is sickly and has poor mental health due to trauma. it does have a very heavy scene describing his mother’s su*cide and him being left alone with her body and the abuse caused by his scumbag father’s actions I felt pity for the ML and his mother 🥲

This was a very funny and satisfying read. The story is relatively short, but the author managed to fit in a complete story. The message is that destiny can be changed, and not every success story is as clean and beautiful as it looks.

In this story, it's really warming to see how the two main characters help heal each other. I also thought they had very strong characters - one is a bit obsessive and manipulative because of the tragedies he's gone through, and the other is aptly illustrated as... more>> a hedgehog who has learned to protect himself with spikes all over. The MC is jokingly called a moneygrubber, but he gives off the feeling of someone who fixates on money because that's something he can control (compared to other people's hurtful remarks or bullying).

The extras gave just enough pure romance (it was a bit frustrating in the main story when the MC refused to acknowledge his emotions because he thought the was a replacement). <<less

Really cute! The action/tense moments were also fun to read!

That said, I wouldn't say this is mindblowingly amazing, just good enough to enjoy. It's a bit predictable, although the plot twist was pretty nice. Initially, it's a bit confusing, but the story straightens out once the two meet.

The MC isn't the smart type, more of a street smart / all-purpose / jack of all trades type. I also appreciate that he's not whiny, haha. I also appreciate that the ML wasn't super manipulative (besides aiming for pity points). The side... more>> characters and enemies don't stand out that much though. I was also a bit :/ at how the villain's supporters acted (are people really dumb?), but I remembered that people actually can be s*upid like that. Basically, the only thing I didn't like was how s*upid the bad guys were, but it didn't ruin the experience.

Overall, a nice quick read, but nothing too deep. <<less

It's good. Fluff. Kinda funny as well but some might get impatient towards the MC denying his real existence and identity to the ML. Nonetheless, good read.

Just started reading it I think it's decent. The story is pretty much like in the description. It's a simple, no brainer story. A bit s*upid and lack of common sense but it's kinda funny ngl. Very cute. I like dumb MC so maybe that's why. ML is kinda creepy but I don't really mind that much maybe because I've read worse.

I genuinely like this. I think I have a preference for the ‘shameless protag x sickly ML’ trope because I eat this up everytime. Regardless of plot holes & certain details that could have been paced better, overall this novel was really enjoyable. Objectively-speaking it’s a 4-star, but because I was entertained, it was boosted up to a 5!

I wished it was a bit longer. I believe that if the author expanded it a bit more, it would’ve been perfect. It’s a fun premise & I never get tired of... more>> reading about indifferent male leads softening up to their more crazy energetic counterparts. <<less

DNF. I don't know, maybe I'll try reading again eventually? I just didn't like either of the main characters. Not because they were bad or boring, I just was already exhausted seeing all the misunderstandings and arguments and low-EQ hijinks being lined up. I find books easier to get into when the characters are more real-life. The summary seemed fun.

A good read. A money-grubber MC x a turned hard-earning cash cow ML who is down bad. The relationship between the two is sweet, and although I felt quite iffy about the MC's personality in the beginning, a little bit of more reading will not only better his character but also make you understand his character. ML also isn't perfect and quite fits under the paranoid villain archetype, but he, like the MC, has depth on why he is that way.

The romance is slow but there, and while face-slapping... more>> also exists, the story focuses on uncovering and developing the romance between the MC and ML. I love that the MC is a tough nut to crack lol—he did not fall as easily as I thought he may.

Overall, it's a one-day read. I would say there's really nothing special about the story that stands out, and it is rather standard, but it was interesting to see two characters slowly work toward their status as truly in love. One is there for money, another is itching for "revenge" but actually just wants to tie the other to his side. Villains are villains, but I say the highlight is the cute but bantering dynamic between the MC and ML.

Also probably gave three stars because the author left things vague—not in a mysterious vague sense but as a poorly written vague sense where you're grasping at straws understanding the first few chapters and the context (it gets better, but I remember dropping this like a year ago because I didn't have the energy for it). <<less

Plot-wise the story is actually a little angsty but it’s focus is on hurt/comfort- meaning no BE and no excessive focus on revenge/face-slapping. The story is really more about Xia Xingchi’s and Li Chenyuan’s resolution of issues both personally and also between each other. As opposed to their problems stemming from something like miscommunication it’s mostly misunderstandings due to the unequal amounts of information they both have on the other... Basically one knows something the other does not, whilst the other knows something they do not- thus creating a mutually strange perception of the other towards each other.

To describe the story without ruining the plot, , , I have to acknowledge that some of the tags used / the way multiple reviewers describe the MCs aren’t quite accurate...

Our... more>> MC, Xia Xingchi, is a really difficult to describe kind of character. He’s pointed out multiple times as being money-hungry/money-grubbing- BUT DO NOT THINK THAT THAT IS THE EXTENT OF HIS CHARACTER BECAUSE IT’S NOT! More accurately it’s something that gets played up a lot before we gain a deeper understanding of his actual character and life experiences... Xia Xingchi is actually a soft-hearted, sensitive character who is also unbending, sassy, vengeful, and dishonest (especially about his feelings) - without being evil, calculating, or a complete genius.

He is not by any means a simple character and neither is the ML, Li Chengyuan.

Li Chengyuan isn’t really what I’d describe as being black-bellied contrary to the words of other reviewers. Li Chengyuan is someone whose cold on the surface and passionate on the inside. His feelings towards Xia Xingchi are complex and partially rooted in past trauma that have really affected his ongoing mental state and overall goals in life. His character is really a teetering balance that becomes more stable by the time the story ends. At first he’s overbearing because he’s insecure but then he becomes this way purely as a way to dote and win over Xia Xingcheng. Li Chengyuan is definitely sly but he always makes his intentions clear with our MC... so it never feels excessive or like he’s being trapped or forced into doing something he doesn’t want to do. This character is one that really uses the “slow boil” method and frequent proximity to his advantage. <<less

This story is very enjoyable for what it is. The interactions between the main couple were enough to keep my interest because of how entertaining they are together, but the side characters fell flat.

The plot and show-biz shenanigans are really secondary to the romance aspect, so if you go into it ready to enjoy a short, sweet love story, you're in for a good time. Just don't expect too much depth plot-wise.

Good story! It might not be perfect, but I had somewhat low expectations due to some reviews but ended up liking it more than I thought I would. It being quite short was also a massive plus to me - I tend to get bored easily and if the novel drags out I either drop or skim it. This one was the perfect length for what it offered in my opinion, there wasn't any need to drag all this drama or the angsty bits for 50+ chapters more (thank God).

It's... more>> your typical face-slapping transmigration story, it's incredibly full of cliches and drama. Personally I'm guilty of loving cliches if they're engaging enough so I enjoyed it lol, but it might not be everyone's cup of tea.

The antagonists are quite s*upid (though they did manage to create an actual well tought out plan that was ruined by MC suddenly figuring it all out) but managed to cause actually quite a bit of damage still. The side characters aren't memorable and they don't appear much. It didn't bother me much in this novel because I was more invested in the main character's story and didn't care much for anything else.

I loved the ML in this one, even if he is quite paranoid. There's a good reason behind that AND he also gets a bit shy and tsundere sometimes. Gives him a bit more personality than just your average cold and indifferent ML, which I appreciate (although he still is very much that). Also the "manipulative" side of ML mentioned in some reviews, didn't bother me at all. ML's just being childish and wants attention and the MC is in on it, I didn't think it was that deep.

There were a few plotholes and the logic behind ML finding out MC's origins just like that wasn't the most plausible, but I believe it's actually quite logical, given the circumstances of how they met both in past and present, but maybe it's the way the author portrayed it and didn't give much insight into ML's point of view of things, so it seemed a bit abrupt when he suddenly figured every single detail of the transmigration out.

I thought the netizens comments were a bit repetitive and went on for way too long on a few occasions. Besides that, I only wish that the author showed more about the MC discussing his past and his memories with the ML and went more into detail about it. The few times they did the MC refused to talk about it and when he finally cleared everything up it was just mentioned that they talked about it rather than the reader being shown the actual conversation. I was looking forward to that, so that's a bummer.

All in all decent story, not among my favorites but I had a good time. <<less
