“Whose child is it?”

Winston and Yu-jin were once passionately in love, but due to a misunderstanding, they separated. Even now, Winston believes Yu-jin was involved in an affair with his father. After being cruelly abandoned, Yu-jin struggled to survive alone while raising his daughter, never expecting to cross paths with Winston again.

Then one day, a fire forces Yu-jin out of his apartment, leaving him and his daughter homeless. At his lowest point, he learns that Winston’s father, Harold Campbell, left him an inheritance in his will. Desperate for any help, he decides to visit the Campbell estate.

When they meet again, Winston still despises him, while Yu-jin only wishes to collect his inheritance and leave. To his surprise, Harold has left him far more than expected—but with one condition: he must marry Winston and bear another child within a year.

Yu-jin tries to refuse, but reality is harsh. Fueled by resentment over Winston’s continued cruelty, he agrees to the marriage out of spite. Winston, on the other hand, makes it clear that their union is nothing more than a formality to fulfill the will.

Yet, despite their intentions, an undeniable pull keeps drawing them back to each other. Both insist it’s nothing but lust, desperately ignoring the emotions that refuse to fade…

4/5 or 8/10 - If you want angst, frustration, heartbreak, continuous misunderstandings, an omega who repeatedly runs away, a secret pregnancy, and makjang-like scheming in-laws, you might like this novel.

I fortunately like them all except for the makjang-like scheming in-laws. I especially did not like reading their schemes, and would have preferred to just have them as an afterthought, all of them.

The most horrible one is the dead guy, Winston's father, who we only read about in flashbacks, but ugh, ugh, he is horrible. The pe*o. The child mol*ster. Ugh, what a disgusting old man.

Keith makes a cameo here through a phone call (and a bar drinking session), which is hilarious. While I do like him, I also like seeing him suffer through his friends' phone calls seeking for advice; Grayson did the same thing in DMIYC (a far more hilarious phone call lol). The eldest Miller child, Nathaniel, also makes a short cameo in all his arrogant 218 cm giant glory.

I really like Yujin and in the current novels that have been released, it seems like he's the omega that suffered the most, with no one to help him. He didn't deserve anything he had gone through. Winston also doesn't deserve him. I thought Winston would grow on me as the novel progressed, and that my urge to slap him ten million times every time he sl*t shames Yujin would disappear, but unfortunately...I'm not sure lol. He did suffer a lot too, but still, I hope he becomes Yujin's footstool, carpet or doormat for the rest of their lives. Just my wish lol.

EDIT: I was making a list of my ranking of all the extreme alphas in the same generation in Zig's ABO universe with completed stories so far. Up until around Chapter 95 of this novel I positioned Winston slightly above in ranking to Keith. But after finishing this story, I feel like apologizing to Keith lol. This guy just has... NO SPINE lol.

After he finds out that he totally misjudged Yujin, instead of trying to atone for his sins for life, Winston attempts to... off himself LOL. He reasons that his mother will stop going after Yujin only when he's gone from the world. What an absolute clown.

Setting aside the fact that the story is long drawn and nothing of actual significance happens over the chapters (like any vital transformation or improvement in the MC's or ML's personalities), I am unwilling to pay for translations. I respect the translator for translating novels and making it accessible for readers but I am of the type who doesn't support artists unless I am fully done with the story. Sorry if it offends anyone but translators making readers pay for each chapters seems predatory. This is only my opinion and... more>> I have nothing against readers who support these actions. To each their own I suppose. I will drop the story here. I will probably pick it up if there is an official translation. I would rather support the actual writer of this K-novel. <<less

A frustrating read for sure. Be prepared for a misunderstanding that takes a long time to be resolved. ML's groveling arc is very short lived, as he makes a pretty hard choice which in the end makes the MC listen to him and forgive him I guess. However all of this could have been resolved if they talked more, no need to go all the way to the far end. If ML just explained to the MC everything the family said and did to him, I feel like the MC... more>> would have understood a lot more where he was coming from. Instead he decided to play the martyr and not tell the MC details to "spare him" or some other BS, especially after he knows what the MC went through.

Yes, their trust was broken and it would have been hard to build on it, but the way author went about it was just a cheapshot in my opinion.

Not enough communication, especially since in some scenes ML understood what the MC had issues about but he just never voiced anything out loud to resolve any issues. Story kind of ends after the mentioned hard choice and the epilogue kind of shows that not all is a 100% fixed but that they are getting there and yet none of that is shared to the reader. If I had to sit through literally 230 chapters of angst around a misunderstanding, I for sure wanted at least a third of that to be about resolving the misunderstanding properly, not just with

Ending not satisfactory. We got scraps to get over the whole angst that was thrown at us.

I understood where ML was coming from with the whole feeling betrayed but still loving the person, but it was very on the nose that no one (no servant, no driver, nobody) ever let the secret spill (you can't tell me all witness were killed because if so than that is even more suspicious and would make the ML even more idiotic). With how much the family would gloat about it like dogs with rabies it's odd. There is just no way some servant wouldn't try to get more money out of ML by slipping him some info. I mean what are they, the FBI? With how much planning went around for their secret and with how s*upid the family is, or rather, knowing there is no world where the rich actually get their own hands dirty, nobody tried to sell info to the new main boss of the whole rich a*s family??

It really made me think lowly of the ML, the whole time the family was pestering him and disapproving of MC and it never popped into his mind to actually listen to MC instead of the family he gave up on for MC? It's a beautiful story about two lovers overcoming challenges for their relationship from people near them.

The first few chapters tested my patience a bit, since the couple won't talk to solve the misunderstanding. But there is a reason for it, our MC is TIRED. I can understand why he did it the deeper I get into the story.

If you want to read this, prepare yourself for some angst. The author did a good job describing the mc's anxiety and pain. And it wasn't easy to heal.
