I quite liked this. I read it first and then went to check out "Kiss Me, Liar" after because it was clear there was more story going on. Gotta say, glad I stumbled on this "side story" first. If I had read Kiss Me, Liar first I don't think I would have given this one a chance (KML is very angsty and dark and somewhat toxic). Thankfully Kiss Me If You Can is pretty fluffy. At first I wasn't sure since the ML (Chase) is rather crazy at the start... more>> and I just couldn't see Josh (MC) getting back together with him, but their relationship evolved in a fairly believable manner (and ended up pretty fluffy). Both of them are very much about consent/treating their partner right so it was nice to see a relationship of equals once it evolved beyond employee/employer. Josh is a sweetheart and devoted father, while Chase has some past trauma that comes out as the story progresses. There is some drama going on, but not to the point it gets tiresome. Also, the way all the bodyguards interact with each other was pretty fun to read. It's clear they have all worked together for a long time and trust each other. I actually liked this enough I intend to purchase a physical copy once WordExcerpt sorts their publishing deals (according to their site they worked out a deal with a bigger name publisher who will be handling physical copies of all their stories in the near future). <<less

Truthfully, I really loved Kiss Me, Liar which is the first novel of this universe. I know many hated it but for me it was a very good manhwa/ novel. And since I loved KML, I was really interested in reading Josh's story ever since I heard he had one.

At first I was really curious about Chase (a person KML didn't talk much about) so I was astonished when he appeared in the first chapters portrayed as a violent and narcissistic extreme alpha. Josh disliked the man very much so... more>> it made me wonder what really happened between them. Surely, nothing was what I expected but I loved getting to know Josh and Chase.

I love that they have a healthy relationship based on consent compared to KML. They talk to each other and their fights and misunderstandings weren't big or dragged on for chapters. Moreover, I love how Josh "displines" Chase whenever he does something bad without getting mad or shout at him but trying to make him apologize and see that was wrong to do. They love each other deeply. They are sincere with each other and their sweet moments made me fall in love with them.

Ever since finding out about Chase's past trauma, I loved how Josh behaved and tried to help Chase by being there for him and by loving him.

And despite how Chase is portrayed at the beginning, I love how he is, how he laughs and smiles whenever he is with Josh, how he tried so hard to bond with his son even before he knew it was his just because he was a part of Josh, the one he loved the most. He is sincere, innocent, loving and gentle. And Josh is his everything.

I remember how Josh didn't want to get married anytime soon or have another child but after falling in love with Chase, he changed his mind because he knew he wanted to spend his life with him.

I hope this will get an official translation since I had to read volumes 2-5 on google play books in Korean and use google translate. I need a better translation and I'll surely reread them again and support the author for such a mastepiece. As an avid reader of romance and BL, I have to say this is my favourite one. <<less

It's a great story on it's own but if you read kiss me liar first it really adds context to the world both these stories take place in.

I finished the main story I'm still looking for a translation of the side stories. I also purchased the Kindle version of volume 1 and really liked it. Now there seems to be a licensing issue so I'm going to read the unofficial version because I'm getting tired of waiting for word excerpt to figure out what they're gonna do. I still plan... more>> on purchasing the Kindle versions to support the author. It's just a little frustrating when you're trying to do the right thing and the publisher can't get their act right. <<less

I actually like this more than the kiss me liar. There's reason why Chase act that way. He isn't playboy like seme in kiss me liar. He is looking for the man he shared his night with (Joshua). Joshua is not a weak s*upid crybaby uke. He raised his son on his own. He is tall, handsome, a bodyguard. And he isn't afraid to get into a brawl with Chase even tho Chase is an alpha.

It's not as dark and as toxic as kiss me liar. Seme on kiss me... more>> liar was belittling r*pe attempt on uke and used uke as s*x buddy even tho uke likes him. In here the seme (Chase) isn't a playboy. Even if his family really did send Chase to s*x party, but Chase didn't like it. He was suffering with his rut alone. But as same as Zig other novel. Chase also has toxic seme characteristic such as violence and cruelty. I read 3 works of this author and I think the author really like toxic seme.

I bought the novel first volume and was looking forward for the 2nd and 3rd but the license was canceled and no translation team pick it up. I only know from kiss me liar, Joshua and Chase will end up together and have 2nd children. <<less

At first, I really disliked how ML treated the MC, but as you keep reading, everything becomes clearer on why ML is like that to basically everyone around him.

I read through the manhwa on kiss me liar after this story and personally I really liked this story better. Its pretty violent at first but ML is truly someone who is very sweet once he starts trusting MC a bit more. Near the end

Oh god, I was so sad because ML has severe phobia of dogs thats explained in the novel (its pretty fcked up), but he still fought against it to save the mc’s child without even knowing its his child as well.

I have not read the side story since I can’t find them but the main story really satisfied me.

Oh, and MC isn’t one if those crybaby O’s but more on calmer and more thoughtful side. While ML is at first pretty violent to MC, like he’d get beaten up, hit (nothing s*xual though) but as their relationship develops, it honestly becomes so wholesome😭 ML is still one of the jealous types/they have some misunderstandings but they get resolved. <<less
