In a world where immortality and martial arts coexist, Qiao Mu can constantly come back to life.

Each time he is killed, he resurrects at the cost of getting older, but his martial arts skills also become deeper with age.

The more he dies, the older he gets, and the stronger he becomes. The more heroic his death, the stronger he becomes after resurrection.

So he finds different ways to court death, always seeking out danger.

The enemy is shocked to discover that just after defeating the young one, an old one has appeared, seemingly infinite in number.

A legend of an invincible immortal family starts to spread.

“The Qiao family is full of loyal and heroic individuals, generation after generation. They all detest evil and cherish righteousness, valuing honor over life, daring to lead the world!”

“After his son died on the battlefield, the father with white hair continues to go into battle. He is worthy of admiration and respect!”

“Once upon a time, the son protected me and died, so today I cannot simply watch his old father living a sad and lonely old age.”

“The descendants of the Qiao family bravely entered the palace to assassinate the evil emperor, but failed and lost their lives. Is the emperor really so clueless? The mysterious thousand-year-old monster from the hidden Qiao family is about to appear!”

“Has the divine immortals and buddhas returned? But why do even those divine beings call the elders of the Qiao family “ancestors”? How many ancestors does the Qiao family have, and where did they come from?”

After countless deaths, Qiao Mu suddenly looked back and found himself to be an ancient ancestor of mankind, who had lived for millions of years and possessed immense power.

This story starts off silly but well put together. The side characters are well crafted but often fade out of the story.

It eventually turns into a more serious story with emotional depth. The side characters play a more prominent role and stay narratively relevant.

Up to where I am there hasn’t been any romance or faux romantic drama.

Caught up to translation, unique concept, it was quite fun at first, but it starts dragging itself as we go, instead of just getting it over and dying we waste like a dozen chapters or more leading up to it, I don't see a reason as to why they should slow the pace down, keep dying and achieve the highest levels of cultivation, also he hasn't really made an effort to gain new martial techniques even though that's what he is most interested in right now besides dying, he does... more>> get techniques from here and there but it would take him literally zero effort to go in a place where they distribute martial techniques or rob some place treasury, he doesn't train his techniques every time he dies it's treated as if that time was spent 24/7 on training and this applies on everything as if he training 1 skill exclusively even though they are all getting trained up. That's my only problem with the novel so far, especially because I'm already damn near 200 chapters deep and there are 540 chapters, he still has not reached the level of a 'immortal', besides his unique aspect of forever reviving just older and stronger, and he has not reached the peak of martial arts either. The number 1 problem with the novel so far has to be pacing.

Do not read this novel, it was the biggest waste of time, I had so many predictions for the end-game of this novel but none of them came true, this novel is extremely repetitive, the MC goes from wanting to die to grow stronger to not wanting to die because now he is conscious for every single year spent in the time room. The ending was abrupt and disappointing, there was no higher realm, no nothing. I think this novel is OK to read for the first like 100~ chapters but anything after that is just a waste time of time, don't bother. <<less

The novel barely focuses on the MC after the 2nd or 3rd arc. Some chapters have several POVs of bystanders who repeat things which have already been told through the MC.

You could skip entire chapters and miss nothing because even tho the MC needs to die or kill someone the author likes to stall for dozens chapters. If the MC needs to kill some dude the author explains what evil he has done then changes POV to the victim and then we get their sob story then the POV changes... more>> to some irrelevant character like the emperor who does nothing for the overall plot or a storyteller who also does nothing or some other evil side character. After all that the MC fights and doesn't die. That's fckn right. The MC stays alive for another dozens of chapters for more dialogue and then he dies.

The MC's system is also deeply flawed. When he dies he grows older and the years he aged are spent improving his strength and skills. However all his skills are incomplete so after a while his skills reach the limit. Since he cultivates his body getting older makes him weaker after a certain age. He learns a technique to become stronger even tho his body ages later on and of course the technique is also incomplete.

I could go on and on but the tl;dr is: the concept is good but the execution is very bad.

0.5/5 don't even touch it <<less

TL;DR: A polished gem with the only flaw of not having enough chapters.

This novel is amazing, to the point that I have no critiques for it.

The main character has a cheat that allows him to lose lifespan and gain the corresponding amount of martial art skills with that lost lifespan. The greater the glory of his death, the more effective the martial arts gain is.

This novel is a comedy, but it absolutely does not lose out in terms of progression and typical xianxia antics either. Despite the moments of satire,... more>> this novel still has deep quotes, fleshed-out side characters, and well-written scenes of showing-off.

I love this novel and can't wait for more updates.

I would recommend this novel to truly anyone. <<less

cool concept, started skimming recently, I enjoyed it a lot more when it was regular progression for him, but he's been stalled for a while now and I can't bring myself to care about what's going on in this arc. I probably would have enjoyed this arc in another story, but this just doesn't seem to fit the earlier style of writing and ngl, if you started reading a story for progression fantasy and the progression seems to have stagnated for the last dozens of chapters it just seems like... more>> it will naturally lose you. Hell the author hasn't even shown what MC has gained from his last few deaths, like he forgot the gimmick that had hooked the reader to begin with.

whatever, I can't say it's bad now, just that it is no longer what it was that had intrigued me before. <<less
