I tried very hard to maintain interest in this novel, but it was a big struggle, because the plot really isn't much.

MC and ML are cute, I'll give them that. But the overall quality of the writing was poor, and basically nothing is explained. The author just says that XYZ happens, and then it does.

MC is super beautiful, so he gets a million fans. MC is really strong, so he can beat everyone up. MC is a great actor, now he won an award. And ML? Well, he's just an... more>> old monster. He beat up the bad guy, and I still have no clue why. He didn't want MC to know, so MC never knew, and likewise, the reader also doesn't know. Hah. Fantastic.

While the writing isn't anything noteworthy, I do appreciate the author's efforts in trying to promote feminism as well as shed light on the realities of child trafficking.

Spoiler

It's actually extremely sad. There's a real Chinese campaign called Baby Come Home, where parents of abducted children can post pictures of their loved ones in the hopes that they might find them. Sometimes, the only pictures they have are years-old pixelated photos, and unfortunately it's their only hope...

Very good! It's simple and there are a few flaws but the relationship between the leads are very satisfying.

In this modern world, the MC is plagued with a weak spirit and bad energy (?) Basically, trouble follows him.

However, the MC decisively chose to leave his family in order to avoid the misfortune he causes to others and takes it all by himself. He is calm in front of outsiders, a cute child with friends, and a coqquetish kitten with the ML. He is a bit dense in the beginning but... more>> he is straightforward so there's no wishy washy love.

As for the ML, hes quite typical but at the same time isn't. Given his character background and identity, he's cold and OP BUT he's like a blank sheet of paper in earth as he learns about the language and technology. Additionally, he's a cute puppy around the MC but a cold gaurd dog to others.

There isn't much to say about the side characters other than that the priest is often playing cupid and works as a dating counselor lmao.

In regards to the conflict, eh, ML is OP. Once antagonist was found that was basically it.

Nevertheless, I wish the author expanded more on the "past life" and what MC did to "exchange" his fate with the ML but I may have missed it in the RAWs.

5/5

Enjou and Adieu!

P.s. Smut was pretty good, but it was just one scene while others were one liners 😭 <<less
