“Alicia, I am breaking my engagement with you!”

With those words, she realized she had reincarnated as Alicia, the Villainess of the Otome Game “Magical Rhapsody.”

More so, this realization came just after her engagement was broken. But that doesn’t matter.

Because the character that she loved through the screen is now in front of her.

It’s not the beautiful platinum blonde, Reynes, the First Prince of the Borg Kingdom… but it’s the main character, Melia, who’s standing behind him?!

It seems the Villainess whose engagement was broken offers her overflowing love to the Heroine while the Capture Targets help or hinder her.

The ending was too disappointing, it felt unresolved. ... more>>
Spoiler

After all the build up of the relationship between the protag and FL it is just left hanging in the end, with the FL feelings not being reciprocrated from protags pov. Though FLs feelings would be a bit more ambiguous to readers but just a bit. And that bit is only due to previous build up of the relationship where the FLs behaviour suggested she might have interest due to blushing or that one instance of jealousy. So no yuri ending for the yuri route...I hope there is a sequel that can tie things together and give a yuri ending after all only two rivals from the game were introduced, there should be more.. and usually ambigous endings are set ups for continuations so o.o

It seemed promising at first. Went through the raws and was sorely disappointed.

In short, it's pointless, unfulfilling and full of cringe.

Even as a yuri fan, I can't justify a rating higher than the minimum possible. The author tried too hard to make it fun and open ended, but that just lead to illogical developments and incoherent plot.

Even the ending is not an ending at all, I've seen better endings on stories that have been dropped without notice.

I like Villainess stories, and I like the ideas behind this one, but honestly the setting and pace bring this down for me, by a lot. I gave it a 3 because there's nothing bad really, but that's it, and even that is perhaps a bit high.

For the setting it's basically just medieval but mentions magic, which is the worst of both worlds. It doesn't embrace the adventure of magic, but also doesn't use the normal setting to create interesting dynamics. It does the same thing with issues of class... more>> and sexuality, everything is confined so no girl/girl dates or anything, but it's also not so bad that it feels horrible, should change yes but not like angering.

And that pace is just so plodding and glossing over things, we get set up but lack the payoff or the interactions it causes. <<less
