Due to an accident, half of Kagami Keina’s body was paralyzed. One day, because of a power outage she regrettably died, but just before that she was moved to the world of the online game she was playing. When woke up, she was in the game, moreover it was 200 years in the future?

Well for the time being, in order to survive I should probably do something.

In the world that was a video game, who stands in the way of the fumbling girl making her way through!?

One of the first web novels I had ever read.

Innovation: 4/5

As a pretty old novel as far as syosetsu goes, it predates a lot of the other "game-turned-reality" novels. As a consequence it doesn't seem to do anything particularly innovative with the genre, being one of the pioneers itself.

... more>> Characters: 3/5

The protagonist, Keina, sort of just chills out in a village until stuff happens and she adopts a daughter. Who she spoils and dotes on immensely. Given the short time-frame they've known each other it is difficult to believe that the relationship is much deeper than simply feeling sorry for a random orphan.

Additionally, Keina's interaction with her NPC "children" from back when it was a game is for the most part an unending recurring gag that isn't particularly funny.

Finally, the second most important character to the story only appears late in the game, and they are difficult to treat as a real person because of their oddities.

Story: 2/5

The story seems mellow and mediocre for the majority of its run, but close to the end strange revelations come out of nowhere that seem like complete ass-pulls. Worse yet, these revelations are tied deeply into the existence of the world and the whole mystery behind what set off the plot.

To be fair, a lot of what seem to be complete ass-pulls are in fact mechanics known to the world at large in the author's previous novel. But on the other hand, that novel was dropped midway so you can't expect anybody to have read it, and worse yet there was never any indication or mention by the characters of THIS novel that these mechanics were even around. <<less

This is actually a very fun and easy going story. I'll admit that it has a pretty generic isekai story plot, especially with an overpowered MC but its a pretty good story still.

The MC is really op so most of the action in this story ends pretty quickly but the story doesn't really focus on fighting and its mainly about the adventures and quests she does as an adventurer.

The characters around her are funny and likable. Although there are many characters which can be a little confusing but not all... more>> of them stay in the story for long and when they do come back the story does reintroduce them in a simply way to help refresh your memory. Fortunately, most of them are pretty memorable (such as her kids)

Its not really for everyone as its a pretty mellow and fluffy story to the point some might find it boring, especially for those who expect a lot of action but if you enjoy an easy going adventure story that isn't complex and really gives that wholesome magical fantasy feeling, you will probably like this one. <<less

Given that it’s one of the pioneering novels of its kind, it’s okay. Story’s a bit bland but that’s just coming from a perspective of someone reading this after having read a lot of the same genre.

Most important is no fan service scene (and drawing for the manga). For those who have read New Gate, this story resembles that a bit. The player enters the game, the NPC becomes alive and the MC's NPC/sub characters are also there. One of the purpose for MC is to find all the building/items her friends build and create. The downside is she has all her game character's power, skill and magic and everything so it's overly OP. Moreover, MC is a 17yo girl with no experience living in society... more>> (she is hospitalized) and can be considered as naive. That's why some of her method in doing things are not just too 'do this do that with magic, everything is done!' <<less

A very good read, sag the world building is a mess. Cayna isa no nonsense girl who draws the line in sand and is a shitty parent in all accounts. But she does care about her "children", she just doesn't know how to interact with them. All she even knew were little kids and that's exactly hoey treats her own adult children.

Really recommend this for people looking op female protagonists. She give no damn if her opponent of tht king and technically she won't kill but she had no problem... more>> maiming and scarring her enemies. <<less

Simple, yet entertaining story. It doesn't do anything special from the other OP MC stories I've read, but I find its simplicity quite fascinating. A bit unfortunate no one has picked up translations for it.

The gist is this OP MC in a slice-of-life type story and she's extremely dense about the world as it's 500 years in the future. Every now and then there is a battle thrown in where she just destroys the enemy. Haven't gotten to any of the "big" parts from the anime yet, hope to read... more>> further into the webnovel as time progresses. <<less

It's really good, and I could probably write way too much about what I love about this novel, but I'm instead going to mention some of the things I don't like very much, just to make it easier to read this.

First off, the whole reason I'm writing this review this way (and a moderate spoiler for Volume 4) :

Spoiler

Inexplicable Body Horror

For some reason, Chapter 3 of Volume begins with some nightmare inducing body horror. Like, it's definitely appropriate for the creature doing the unspeakable things, but I (and the characters observing the aftermath themselves) thought it didn't need quite so much... detail. Luckily (or unluckily, as the human imagination is a terrible thing), there is no illustrations of the nightmare creatures the demon-thing created. Really, I get that it's a novel, and that means that you usually need to be able to make people imagine what everything looks like, but as they say, the devil is in the details, and I don't want nightmares from looking at him and his wacky eldritch pals.

[collapse]

If you don't want spoilers on v4c3, but do want the disclaimer that comes with it, I'll tell you here:

Spoiler

Moderate Body Horror is present in the beginning of the chapter, for about 5-6 pages, so if that's too much for you, then I feel it's perfectly fine to skip those pages. I believe it also might be at the very end of Chapter 2, but not nearly as detailed or drawn out.

Also, a not-so-fun fact: The artist considered including an illustration of the aptly titled "Amazing Human Zoo" as a bonus, but, as stated in the afterword, "I considered drawing a scene of the Amazing Human Zoo for this afterword's illustration. Logic won out at the last minute, and I gave up on the idea. I'm kind of glad I did. But I still want to draw it if I get the chance!" So, uhh... we're not out of the woods yet, I suppose.

[collapse]

Edit: I just finished reading volume 8 yesterday, and I can safely say that there is nothing besides the aforementioned event that caused me any discomfort throughout the series that has been translated thus far. I will say, however, that volume 8 ends on a cliffhanger, for some godforsaken reason. <<less

While not the most interesting story, it was fun to read.

Reading the raws you will find interesting plot points and twists. However if you are here for an action packed story your in the wrong place. Its closer to a slice of life with adventurer elements.

I will also look forward to the anime release that is currently happening.
