There is nothing more expensive than free stuff.

It’s not cool to get excited about something you got for free.

In a sense, the protagonist is a reincarnation target, but he perseveres while messing with God’s plans.

God makes a mistake in choosing his reincarnation target, and later learns of it.

He later realizes that it’s not like everyone wants to be strong and not everyone wants to make a harem.

And that he has chosen someone who is more attentive than others and is a real pain in the ass…

Here are few examples of MC behavior which shows how 'smart' is he. I basically took examples of what might happen to you and added MC style logical conclusions and replies

Doctor: your leg is turning black and you can't feel it, it's necrose. If we don't cut it off you will die. MC: are you threatening me?

MC was brought to the criminal hideout. And now criminal boss suggests him to leave silently and gives him hush money. MC instead of shutting his mouth, asks unreasonable questions and insults criminal boss

Yes... more>> this is a behavior of MC. He is not curious or cautious person - he is brain dead. The god is obviously not super good natured person why you try to annoy him?

I couldn't think of any good examples for this situations so they are little spoilery

God asks him to use his powers to help the world on the brink of destruction. MC decides to not do this without any reasons. Dude you are going to new world and the only thing you are asked to do is being OP. Instead you decide that it's better to kill new world. WHY?

He asks to become ~3th son of a noble without asking how is noble life. What if he was send to army right a way because they don't need third son?

To be fair I understand that plot armor will eventually prove that MC was correct in his decisions. Nevertheless it doesn't change the fact that his behavior is more appropriate to 6 year old with veeery high self esteem

So after reading a bit more in hope of improvements I'm dropping.

Idea was decent and world building is also kind of ok. However MC never becomes smarter and the same can be said about populace overall. Also plot holes... they are both deep and frequent. I would better have thick plot armor which at least justifies MC actions and 'logical' conclusions in hard way.

The king of the country gives MORE territory to already powerful noble family he is trying to suppress.... And this territory overall is already developed. Why would you do this? To give more money and influence to your enemy? And this is one of the key points in plot

So MC almost purposely is showing that he is way older than he looks to the level that whole house is starting to say that he is 160 years old. Is it what smart person does to hide that he was reincarnated?

He basically complains that people of this world should study themselves and that church and apostles are main blockers. And what he does? Exactly the same thing - he is teaching people to culture and technology which in theory they should come up themselves. Why? Why don't you just destroy church and say to people that they must not rely on apostles? Everyone will believe him as apostles are treated as gods

Also why the hell he never thought why God sends apostles at all??? Maybe there is some good reason, no?

So the biggest aspect of being an Apostle is that everything kind of goes the way he wants. Now, he's seeing all sorts of clues that the church and God and even the apostle system itself is suspicious... because he wants to see them. And he's living in fear (?) of his little sister and letting her and his wife control him... because he wants to be controlled by women.

The story really looks amusingly dumb when I think of it that way, so I'll read it until the author inevitably tries to make God deal with the "mistake" as the description calls it, and replace it with a more appropriate ending in my mind, like:

God sending a message to the protagonist: "Good, you did exactly what I expected you to do" and the protagonist just slowly realizing that everything he'd worked to do was pointless.

So, just a quick review. The author of this novel must be short a few brain cells. The number of plot holes and leaps in logic is astounding, and our MC is idiotic to the point that I think he might be ret*rded. Dropping and never coming back.

The translator, on the other hand, has done a really good job, so there's that

It's too early for a proper review, but I felt like I need to leave this review here so that I can come back to it and add as more gets translated.

As far as chapter 7, my initial impressions are that the MC is very cautious and carries himself in a poignant manner. His understanding that cheats does not equate to the ability to mete out punishment is one of the most striking characteristics thus far. I'm going to be following this patiently, especially after the few bad novels I've... more>> had the displeasure of reading.

Edit 1- I have taken a star off because the tl quality needs just a bit of work. It's Foxaholic so I have high hopes I can revert that decision.

Edit 2- read upto ch. 39 in the raws and honestly, very little action thus far but the MC is clearly trying hard to not rat himself out by fighting. On the other hand, the world building is shaping up to be pretty solid. (P.S- some of the monologues can get extremely lengthy and, sometimes confusing but they're worth it when they click. The monologues could be a deterrent to a lot of people, but for someone who's survived both "Otoko nara ikkoku ichijou no Aruji" and "I said make my abilities average!", This is nothing.) <<less

First off, people complaining that the MC doesn't want to use his OP Isekai cheat powers, need to read the title of this story. LOL

There's a very good reason (s) why the MC doesn't use his cheat abilities. There are certain complexities involved and this is one of the main crux of the story.

It's really interesting and it really goes into detail about the challenges and the wit the MC uses to make the most of his struggle in this new world.

From what I can see so far it's an Isekai with a smart (maybe oversmart) MC who puts a lot of thought into everything he says and does. The supporting cast also look interesting.

The premise is that he won't use his cheat abilities and that would also be original from a storytelling point of view.

Edit 1: It goes very in depth into how MC governs his territory on a level we rarely see. Plus there's a large supporting cast, it isn't just MC and his harem.

Edit 2: Also it's been... more>> over 200 chapters and MC really never uses his cheat ability. There isn't much fighting or magic in this series, it's mostly about a lord ruling his territory. <<less

I really dont understand why some of those here rated this novel high. For me this novel is nothing but a cringe. There's nothing special about the MC. He has no distinct attitude which makes readers want to read it. More importantly, a great number of apostles in a world where they dont even have proof that even a single god exists. How idiotic. I can understand having 1 each era or maybe 2 but a whole organization? Not to mention he hides his power despite living in that type... more>> of world? A world where power matters. I can let it slide if this was a modern world with little to none superpowered people. This nothing but a wuss MC, how disappointing. <<less

Right. So. Yet another GODDAMN example of a great premise ruined by steaming-pile-tier execution.

Many of the complaints from the other reviewers are quite valid-- MC's a f*ckin' idiot who attempts to act clever yet fails miserably. The supporting cast is cringe, starting with the yandere imouto who's a NATIVE reincarnation (yes, I spoiled that for you, because 1). It happens early on, and 2). It's good to at least have a plausible explanation for her troubling unchildlike behavior) and the rest of the MC's bonehead family.

The sperg tutor with zero... more>> EQ, the stock flat-chested redhead, elf, and other characters the MC picks up along the way do nothing to advance the story, which has something to do with MC trying to figure out why all the other transplanted souls from GLORIOUS NIPPON wound up being such utter douchebags and failures (along with their half-breed spawn), and why Isekai "God" keeps screwing up with each subsequent abduction of Japanese souls to populate his world.

Could have been a barn burner, but the author just doesn't have the chops-- he's more interested in the cringe interactions between the MC and his support characters than exploring the broken world setting they've been injected into. MC, despite allegedly being a middle-aged adult, interacts with women in typical virg*n Japanese middle-schooler fashion, to the point of constantly being pushed around by aforementioned yandere imouto and later potential love-interests.

Very disappointing in terms of plot and characterization.

There seems to be a manga version out, which means HOPEFULLY there's a LN version with an editor that can correct the author's many sins against literature. May be willing to read THAT version, but the WN version is a f*ckin' chore to slog through, and I don't care to treat what's supposed to be light snack reading as a f*ckin' chore. <<less

It's a nice story.

I like the characters, I like the (mundane) problems that the MC has to deal with. I like how the existence of apostels kinda created a wacky world.

The thing that jumps out to me is how different it is in comparison to the normal wishfullfilment isekais.

Only minor gripe is that not all logic/details are logical and consistent. Though I enjoy the solutions the writer thought up.

so far appears to be a promising novel, so I hope it keep with the quality since its rather unique spin on a isekai with the MC so far appearing to actually not wont to stand out compared to the classic of the MC saying they wont stand out but then out classing everyone
