The author who wrote this novel seems to be some kind of 200 years old grandpa, because of how much he critisizes, and says how shameless it is for a woman to loose her v**ginity before marriage.

    • Our MC has grown up with his loved girl since he was 2 years old, and they have been together ever since (Now he is 27 years old), but they havent done anything basically other than some teasing so far, just because they arent married.
    • Then there are also instances of our MC telling us how noble he is for not doing anything before marriage and how shameless and disgusting others who did s*x before marriage are. It really makes me laugh. Our MC is a reincarnated individual from modern world.... Makes me wonder how old fashioned this author really is? lol.
There are also many ridiculous unbelievable scenes in the novel, for example :

    • At the starting chapters of the novel MC is 2 years old, and he wields a sword like 5 times bigger than himself to kill some bandits, and all this happens right after our MC has just said that he must keep a low profile hahahah. 2years old killing bandids with a sword. Thats what I call low profile.
    • Or the fact that when he is 6 years old and is still on the first major stage of cultivation, he kills someone who is on the 5th major stage. That means he killed someone 4 great stages above him. And the explanation the author says? Its because the enemy let his guard down....
    • Also other than his first wife, he is being a f*cking d*ck to his daughter and other harem member. No, actually he is being a fcking d*ck to everyone else other than his first wife in later chapters. I really came to hate his character
Well, anyway I wasnt really expecting much.

I was looking for a fast food - fast cultivation with OP MC cultivation novel and thats what I got, but man there really are some ridiculous things written in this novel.

Very average.

People are drawing parallels with Emperor's Domination (or however it was called, been years since I last read it), and the two are indeed similar in many aspects, especially the fact that they're both edgy delusions of a chuunibyou patient. Yes, they're literally like those secret notebooks of chuunibyou cases with their delusions, except ED is a full-blown chuunibyou where the author goes all out, and Countless Swords is half-baked in comparison.

Oh, don't get me wrong. I'm not necessarily saying edgy is crap (it's not bad to read once... more>> in a while, especially when done right), but such novels come with two problems.

Firstly, because of their immaturity, they often don't have much else to offer (let's be frank, the characters, plot, and setting in ED are either mass-produced generic stuff or garbage or both, and it's all about the protagonist acting cool). Because of this, and this is the second point, there's little reading value in them unless the author can get the edginess right (as in, interesting enough) or if the author loses his edge (pun intended) and the novel gets repetitive or just boring.

This novel unfortunately takes a hit on both those counts (actually, it has yet to get boring and horribly repetitive by 150s, but I don't have to read further to know after I took a glance at future chapter titles). Some example points:

  • the protagonist is immature and has little character value when he's not acting cool (and that is getting repetitive) ; he's supposedly reincarnated, but he's acting like the brat he is in his second life, and the only sign that he's lived on Earth before is that he spreads internet slang among his friends; also, like some other reviewer said, his character is rather unpleasant in the long run
  • romance is crap... the author barely put any effort into it, it's very immature (feels like 13-14 years old students who don't have a clue how to advance their relationship), it's dry, and there's no developments literally for years (you'd think they'd make some progress after spending YEARS together)
  • characters other than protagonist are just as stale and boring, and sooner or later you'll stop differentiating them because they act all the same, being either the bu*t of some joke or the ones trying to troll others; the demons (as in beasts) are literally the most characteristic ones in mc's party because at least their species makes them unique and easier to remember
  • let's not get started on all the face-slapping, young masters and other silly tropes that serve no purpose except for increasing word count
  • just like in ED, there's no real goal, there are only tentative objectives that don't feel too significant in the story anyway, and it's all about power creep and going to the next, higher-lvl area
Fortunately, there are some good points in this novel. Firstly, most of the things I'm complaining about aren't very much in-your-face, so if you're a less picky readers, you may not be bothered by them. Additionally, at least the beginning is quite readable. It's also a fast-paced novel, and some people enjoy this (I do, too, when it's suitable).

To sum up:

  • Read it if you want a casual, fast-paced novel with no depth to kill some time with while enjoying a protagonist show off with various swords
  • Don't read it if you're a picky reader (unless it's right up your alley for some reason) or want a deeper novel

I am sorely disappointed at this novel, how can you be the one teaching new writers how a novel should be written, when the novel you made is like absolute tr*sh?

First and foremost, I was 'invited' to this novel because of the high ratings and like because Author here is one of the 'writers' you see on Inkstone (Webnovel Book Writer) and that was like a year ago. Last year, I read this novel from start to like 200ish and that was when I stopped, and I forgot why, might... more>> be because I found it bad or the fact that there weren't enough chapters to read.

And so here I am again, back reading this and I finally understood why I didn't continue this last year. I think we all can agree (anyone who has read past ch 200) that the start of this Novel was good and it was fine, it was one of those very chill moments and that's why I think this novel got that much of a high rating. But after 200chapters, this novel just became more and more disgusting and horrible to read. You read it correctly, DISGUSTING.

You have literally OP MC, more OP than Li Qiye, more OP than Fang Yuan, more OP than literally every MC that you have read but still need a fcking cond*m everytime he steps out of his cage. LITERALLY SO MADDENING! I was here expecting this to be a chill novel and I did find that cuz I didn't really put much imagination into it, but the more I read and read, the more I find this novel very very bad.

First problem was ofcourse the Heroine in the story, for ppl looking to find a 40 yr old virg*n looking to flirt with a literal KID, this is the novel for you. Second problem, he's a showoff for literally no reason whatsoever, besides the 'fame' he accumulated, there was no meaning into it, cuz he was just making more enemies. Third problem, things he could've avoided, he would be able to but still find a 'excuse' or 'way' to justify his actions so we as readers can follow him. Fourth problem, and the reason why I said it was literal tr*sh. MC got his OP SWORDS, fast cultivation and everything necessary, peaceful place, and whatnot, but still manage to need every single protection imaginable. First Daoya, then Emperor, then THE LITERAL STRONGEST PERSON IN THE WORLD who so 'happen to be just strolling down the street', are you absolutely kidding me rn?

Then he sees the woman literally kill innocent people and I'm telling you literally so innocent that you would feel so bad like they were ants, says that he doesn't want to be like them, continue to save and protect them, literally put his life for them, yeah right. Kiss my fcking ass.

You can shove this novel up your fcking ass if you think this novel ever deserve above a 0 rating. <<less

This novel was quite a fun read at the start because of the sword gacha, the weird early reincarnation and some character interactions, but as chapters passed, the novel became incredibly infuriating because the MC literally won't stop fighting and will always find an excuse to offend more people, the fact that the plot is being recycled 150 chapters in doesn't help much either.

The plot goes like this (offend someone > fight > kill > run because a relative or sect elder of the person he killed is chasing him... more>> (these characters always have 3 or 4 cultivation realms higher than his) > hide > travel > back to the start)

Right now he's wanted in 2 empires, hated by 3 or 4 sects and he has a young master magnet, so yeah read this one if you hate yourself and want to rage. <<less

It was good the expectation of the MC having a new sword or techniques riled up the reading but after that it become ordinary though I like that he's quite loyal of a man

    • The female leads are common already to other novels nothing special.
    • The time in the story is fast
    • Though it's annoying always hearing about him being peerless again and again
    • He had a very thick plot armor very time he need something he will receive it so lucky as expected.
    • The minor characters become more transparent as the chapters go by I was expecting the author to give them more color their dull not gonna lie.
If you read this novel it a good time killer but don't really expect much still four stars

It's surprisingly decent, nothing groundbreaking, just a decent story without much hangups. There are slow parts for sure and hell, the author even forgets about things it seems.

An example being the Divine Snake something clan they were hyped up to be this clan of dragon and phoenix devouring snakes where even a blackhole heavenly law lion was afraid of seeing a weak golden tribulation immortal snake. Actually, I don't even know what happened to said snake it saw and the lion itself, but the snake was basically attached to the MC whenever possible. And now she is gone completely and the clan never actually came up again.

So yeah it has its flaws, but for a golden finger cultivation novel where said golden finger is system-esque? Gacha at that? It's good enough for killing time. <<less

this book is so-so. There are lots of plot holes and if you want a book with well thought out world building and side characters, this ain't it.

But if you're looking for a fast paced book with a ridiculously OP ML, then this book is for you.

Also, if you don't like harem, don't read this book.

The ML is insufferably arrogant and only caring to his first wife, so if you don't like that, don't read it.
