Koyadori Saya is the most famous person in the school.

She is good-looking and intelligent. At first glance, she may seem impeccable, but she has an unmatched tongue.
Yet she is still popular with the opposite gender, and today, as usual, she is being confessed—

“This man is my boyfriend, I can’t.”

“Haa..?”

Hey, can you stop calling me, who just happens to be passing by, your boyfriend or something, as an excuse to refuse a confession from a troublesome guy?

It's a bit early to be giving this series a proper review, but I feel like the direction has been set and the leads personalities have been revealed to a certain degree, but mostly I'm just flat-out annoyed at the female lead and needed to vent this frustration so I'm dropping this review early. This is one of those typical "high school popular girl ropes unpopular boy into being her fake boyfriend to ward off the army of wannabe suitors confessing to her every day; hilarity ensues" stories, and at... more>> least 4 chapters in, it sticks to the basics.

There have only been 3 proper named characters introduced so far, but they each have rather distinct personalities. First off, you have the MC's best friend, who happens to be a female pe*vert... that's it, full stop. We only have one scene out of her so far, so I'm sure there will be layers added to this character in future chapters that show her complexity and uniqueness and whatever, but as of now every sentence she has said has been a dirty joke or similar, and there's not much else to her. She's described as being attractive, because it's court-mandated that all female non-antagonists in shonen novels are required to be hot, or secretly hot. So hot and a perv, but like, an uncomfortable, old man kind of perv. I don't hate her though. She's fine.

Then you have the male lead. As the MC of a Shonen romcom, the author couldn't make him too interesting or give him any quirks that are too outlandish, but his reactions to the other characters behavior and his responses in conversations are genuine and realistic enough that I give him a high score. It's rare that the main character is my favorite in a series like this, and eespecially when it's by their own merits and not because I just hate all the other characters, but I kinda like this guy so far. Once again, I'm only 4 chapters in so there's plenty of time to ruin him for me.

Finally, the female lead... picture the ego of Kanye West, but without the musical talent to made it possible to forgive/ignore that ego (at least for a few years, until he went all Yedolf Westler). In fact, this character seems to have no merits beyond being so hot that shallow men come in droves to try to court her, even with that personality of hers. And it's not just the ego. If she just had high self esteem it might be cute, but she's also an as*hole that verbally abuses the MC, and then expects him to be grateful for the privilege of being her fake boyfriend/meat shield. Of course, the logic she uses to finally convince the MC to reluctantly play along is kinda weak, but the story must continue so as long as we establish the status quo, I guess, it's all acceptable for furthering the plot. <<less
