It’s been three years after you have been transmigrated into this world.

You overcame language barriers, and through countless efforts, finally passed the Tribunal test and became a government official with insurance and pension.

The humans of this world live in underground cities. Claustrophobia, oxygen deficiency and hunger were not the only things that threatened them — there is also the cultists and daemons of the Dark Gods.

The Tribunal was at the frontline of fighting these Dark God cultists.

It is very dangerous, being a member of the Tribunal. The only solace of the job is for the glory of protecting humankind. You’re not here for glory, though — you’re here for the high salary.

Thankfully, even though your intentions aren’t the purest, you still managed to do a good job. Everyone refer to you as the rising star in the Tribunal — even your superior likes you.

You also admire your superior’s abilities and personality. You think that even outside work, your superior and you are good friends.

Today, he invited you to dinner again, yet you couldn’t work up an appetite.

Because amidst the journey of rising up the ranks in the Tribual — you found out something despairing.

–WHAT?! I’m actually a Dark God?!

———

This is going to be third-person POV, don’t worry.

The superior who feeds (and is also at the frontline of fighting Dark Gods) x The subordinate that got fed (and is also the newest Dark God)

Amidst my numerous anchors, you are still the most shining one.

The ML better be the tsundere and not the mermaid or I'm going to riot. Ok I'd allow bossman, but he's on thin ice.

To be more serious, the setting and characters here are very interesting. I'm sitting on the edge of my seat waiting for more. This very much reminds me of "Lord of Mysteries" but what if the author was a furry instead of having a worm fetish.

The bonds here seem more deep than the ones I felt when reading the first 1200 chapters of "Lord of Mysteries" but... more>> having the character live in this world for quite some time before we get to jump in and see what he has done with his life. His children/younger siblings are so cute and I really enjoyed his interactions with them. The main character feels very hardworking (and for good reason, he has to feed the children afterall) and the mystery going on here is also quite engaging.

I'd talk about my favorite scenes, but I think it's better to go in blind for this. Each plot point/twist is absolutely delicious and you should try it yourself <<less

Incredibly fascinating, it's indeed similar to LOTM, but it's different, as in the MC has a lot more people connecting to him. These side characters are also super fleshed out, each having a life of their own (I ship that pomeranian and the husky). I love all the different types of beastmen, and the gods here are less complicated, but the principles and the settings are all pretty easy to understand, not to mention all the twists. I especially like that the MC is both a judicator and a dark... more>> god, and that he's running around basically hunting himself at times (which I find hilarious btw). I'm also preetty sure that our ML is the dove bossman, which if he is, I really look forward to his realization that our MC is the dark god he's been hating on. Personally, this novel is a must read, and the translator's also doing a great job with the names and terms (I tried mtling and the terms and the names, they really hurt me QAQ). So thank you translator for your hard work! <<less

an underrated gem!!! a must for fans of cosmic horror, gore, occult, and mysteries!

the kind of novel I felt there's not a single boring ch, and I get bored sooo easily even with great novels I like. (like, there's times when it's tiring to read and having to think about the details in the novel even when I like it. but this one? man, any tidbits of lore makes me read it over n over again to actually understand them!)

it's like embarking on a fantasy world full or horror... more>> and mysteries with the MC as your companion ♡

1. worldbuilding

worldbuilding is vast and fleshed out. it can be hard to follow and imagine the world at the beginning as it's vastly different from a typical setting (could be counted as a con), but the mystery and excitement to find out more of the story helps a ton to read more. slowly, without realizing, I'm already used to the setting.

however, I still constantly get surprised on what this story has to offer in terms of worldbuilding (had to read slowly on some ch and even screenshot a ton to remember things, but it's cus I'm invested!), the body horror, grotesque descriptions, and the characters!

i really love the descriptions about the gods and the relationship between believers and their gods. their powers and how they interact with powers from other domains. it's very fun to uncover it slowly as we see things from the mc's pov, a newly born god who is also learning!

2. characters

oh, yes, the characters. all the characters are great! no mary sue or flat 2d characters. each have their own distinct personality and the typical duality of how humans are. loveeee the MC. I love how he seems smart and someone you can count on, but then also shows how sometimes in the way he speaks and acts it shows he really is just 17 and practically still a kid not someone older.

the ml. hmm... there's not much yet to know about him. his personality so far seems clear to me, but no duality that makes me all curious. he's strict about rules, but compassionate. it does make me wonder how he will act once he finds out about who the MC really is.

3. relationship

it's a slow progress. but their relationship is already great even as it is. (this is not a romance focused novel!) the MC has admiration and respect towards ml. (I'm wondering for a bit if the MC unknowingly has a crush on ML but doesn't even realize it.. like he's biased towards ML lol)

meanwhile, ML has a crush on MC, but knows mc's priority isn't on romance rn and has never pushed MC on it. he also has great expectations for MC as his superior.

all in all, nothing to complain about. it's just that great. the kind of novel where I can't put it down. if it's this great until the end (god knows how many great novels are ruined by the ending), it would definitely be on a re-read list. <<less

This is similar to lord of mysteries but just... Actually deep?

I dropped lord of mysteries on account of it becoming a repetitive power creep without actually that much substance.

But here people are treated better than throwaway pieces and plot goes places. ML is also very well written with his own internal world well shown.

Downright one of my all-time favourites.

And even if we speak not just BL but fantasy in general, Ill still put it in my top 15.
