I don't like ML much no matter how pitiful he was. He used FL for his scheme but he didn't even give her a good life after their marriage. She was treated as servant almost all her life and very good at being obedient and enduring and that's the exact reason why ML chose to marry her.

Yes, it's because she wouldn't complain even if their life was hard. I'm really sad when reading that even after she's married, she still had to do what servants did. She didn't even have time to read books because she was so busy maintaining house everyday.

ML also didn't treat her that well either. He was lack of warm and had a poor communication skill. He often made FL misunderstood and sad but with a little coaxing, he easily gained FL's forgiveness. And I really couldn't see why or how he fell in love with FL. Just because she was there for him at the most difficult time? But he knew that she was used to it and she also didn't have anywhere else to go.

I also didn't like FL much. She was too soft-hearted. She actually could stand up for herself but with a little kindness and coaxing, she easily gave in, which made me a bit disappointed. I know it's quite realistic since she was lack of love since she's a little but still...I hope she could just be done with it, pack her bag, live independent life, and be happy without having to serve or consider other people.
