I feel the need to explain the book better since the description is kind of vague.

The story begins when our main character transmigrates from modern china into a dead body of a 12-year-old child into this incredible tribal-like fantasy type world. In this new world fishing is cultivation and strong (like always) prey on the weak. During the transmigration he naturally gains a cheat in a form of a heavenly treasure and sort of a pseudo-system.

This could of been a pretty good read. And honestly it sort of was..... more>> Like really! For a while, for around 150 chapters anyway~

There was very fresh never-seen-before world concept that revolved around fishing, quite decent world building that made you look forward towards the future, interesting and sort of quirky MC with a cool cheat- you know the usual sort of "wish-fulfillment power fantasy -type" that so many of us like. Character developments weren't quite there but that is pretty much expected with these 'transmigration system' novels; I mean you can't just expect a grown person to grow that much more (heh), usually anyway. The concept was promising as it continued for a while and made for some really enjoyable reading, one afternoon well spent I felt at the time.

Here comes the 'but' though. But then something happened. Almost as if the author had changed entirely or had ran out of content for his now thriving book he just had to start plagiarizing. And boy he went big, immediately choosing one of the most popular CN Web novels ever: Douluo Dalu. At around 140 this, promising new story, suddenly became virtually a carbon copy of that enormously successful book. Only, there's 1 small thing that this author failed to consider; this book very clearly used to be 'seinen' rated with its many gory scenes and the usual Wuxia type disregard for life. What about Douluo Dalu then? Well it's always been a kids book.

You can probably already see where I'm going with this. Sudden turn of events and major change in style instantly cooked this book and pretty much ruined it for me. It took total of 3 chapters for our totally cool, badass MC who was going to places suddenly tell his "now friends of couple hours"all about his trump cards and strengths as they formed the "crazy team" in his rundown new academy that everybody in the town looks down upon. Any of this sound familiar to other veteran readers? That's right.

Maybe if I was slightly younger, by 10 years or so, and hadn't read Doulou Dalu yet I probably wouldn't think twice about finishing this book. Right now though I can't be bothered. 3/5 solely because there truly was some potential here. Would I recommend this? Surprisingly yes. If you're into these type of stories, have yet to experience too many of them and haven't yet grown old, cynical and grumpy like me then definitely give it a shot. <<less

The cultivation and progression in power is very interesting. The MC has various cheats, and my only gripe about the novel is that he isn't that much ahead of the geniuses in this world despite having those cheats. [But that is slowly changing, and the MC is slowly becoming more and more ahead of his generation, hopefully it stays like this or improves further in the future].

I enjoy the process of treasure hunting, laugh at how shameless the MC is, and overall, love the friendship and companionship between the MC... more>> and his team mates. It's worth noting that his team mates can keep up with him and grow with him without him having to pull them up, that's what I really love about this novel. All of the MC's team mates have mysterious backgrounds, and formidable talent. They all grow together and help each other out along the way. <<less

One of the best novels.

Mc: One of my favorites. He's pretty shameless but puts a lot of importance on the people close to him. He's also ruthless towards his enemies, as it's kind of a dog eat dog world. His main focus is getting stronger and solving the mysteries behind the world and his cheat, an artifact that gives him a system that has the ability to absorb fish and their energy along with some other functions. MC is very strong for his age group, and is progressively widening the... more>> strength gap between him and other prodigies. As of around chapter 500~ pretty much nobody Mc's age can stand up to him from those we've seen.

Side Characters: Great cast of side characters. The main team of the MC is one of prodigies, each with their own backstory and specialty. Many other side characters are also pretty mysterious and each have their own stories to tell.

Plot- The plot is interesting. The adventures of the MC are always entertaining and the author knows how to build hype.

Romance- Author truly faked me out on this one.

All signs were pointing to the MC getting with a girl from the starter village, He Xiaoyu, but in the 400s he suddenly got together with his teammate Xia Xiaochan. There were signs leading up to it but I had ignored them as I was convinced she wasn't the love interest.

Worldbuilding/Setting-The best aspect of this novel. The world is original and fleshed out with a huge amount of potential.

Basically, humans live on floating islands and the vast majority of the world is ocean. The floating islands are divided into

1 city->30ish towns->A few villages per town

However, the majority of the story so far has taken place not on the Mc's home island but in the ocean. Near the island are the 3 main fisheries and beyond that is the unknown ocean. One can go to each of the 3 main fisheries once they reach a certain power level, otherwise they'll die to the fish there. The power system is based on energy techniques. MC is at the 3rd fishery right now and the story has never really felt slow paced due to the amount of content each fishery has.. It even feels fast paced while he's in the fisheries.

Overall a really great novel. I recommend it to those who like stories with a good MC and side characters, along with an entertaining plot and rich world building. I give it a 5/5. <<less

its quite good up to ch 150 but it goes downhill when he starts to go to town, hes also got nerfed just to justify that those in town is much stronger than in those village

This starts off good and the concept was quite fresh in a world based on fishing. But then it went downhill around 150 when he moved to the city. The author tried to copy Douluo Dalu and its shrek academy, introducing teammates who are not one bit likable but suddenly MC trusts them with his deepest secrets. The romance is also a bit forced as earlier MC states that he isnt interested in 12 year olds cause he is a reincarnated dude, but then suddenly has a change in personality,... more>> again potentially similar to Douluo Dalu where the girl is probably a sea creature (not completely revealed but obvious from the hints till now) <<less

Like every generic novel, the MC seems smart but that's only for people of that world. For you guys he is gonna be an idiot.

It started off good, a little bit funny (not for me, author thought it is but its not), the one thing which I don't get is why is this guy keep giving every good thing he has to others, sometime for literally no proper reason. He will let someone live many time, only when they come back with full force that he will kill them.... more>> The flow of the story is good though.

It would have like 4 rating only if the main character was not so unlikable. The guy logic works like this " so this old man is arrogant so he must be some great master, which he was. He won't go to city with everyone, reasons are really unclear. He will go to a bad 4th school cause the old man said so and is like " its gonna soon surpass every other school ", you already know what's gonna happen now. He gets more than more wierd as he choose illogical options hoping to become a MC and guess what plot. " Author is almost a goddamn pyschopath. In a ch, some guys came to rob them and calls him fatty which he was at that time. So he mu*ders everyone there except who lies that he is slim and in the end he ask him to join his voyage and mutters " he was a good guy, I wanted him " and this was supposed to be funny. Like seriously, he killed so many people and left someone when he said that MC is slim and is now talking crazy. And this is a random example.

I could have given it 3 star but it's so bad at logics. The story was good, MC decisions and logic butchered it.

So I really won't suggest it. <<less

It's a pity, really. It started out good, with a fresh new concept and interesting cultivation system. Then the author turned the MC into one of those usual shameless, mu*derhobo-esque, self-righteous douche that goes around on a robbing spree just for the heck of it. I mean, I'm not asking for a goody two shoes, but at least the guy could be a normal person, especially since he transmigrates from a world that frowns upon such things. Seriously, it's like transmigration messes with the brains of the CN protags. They... more>> completely discard every moral from the world they transmigrate from, all with the weak excuse of adapting to a new world's rules, the moment they transmigrate. They bring nothing from their previous world; no new perspective, no modern problem solving skills, and certainly not morals. Only some references or something to get a few cheap laughs. If you're gonna make them that way, then why bother making them transmigrators? Why not make them original inhabitants of the story world? What's the point of them being from modern world? Just for some meta-humor or something? Seems kinda pointless.

I went off on a tangent there, but the point is, while the beginning was unique, every unique setting went out the window soon and it became like any other run off the mill cultivation novel that I at least got bored of pretty quickly.

Still, 3.0 for the setting alone. <<less

Gets boring after he leaves the beginning vilage and goes to the town, about 150 chapters in.

Then he forms a team with 4 other prodigies from his academy and from then on the novel becomes boring.

MC has his cheat but until chapter 600 that I managed to read, those 4 friends keep up with him in cultivation and strength, plus with a couple of them actually surpussing him. MC gets super nerfed as even with his cheat, he is not that strong. He is definetely above average, but when... more>> you have a cheat, its inexusable to be just "above average".

Once the first 150 chapters passed where the excitement of a new world building kind of passed, the novel is boring.

  • I honestly liked this novel at the start. It was good until he reached the academy. then I found the vibe of soul land, like wtf???
  • MC doesn't seem like someone who was 30 years old in past life. He continues to act like a teen age kid like his friends. Sometimes I even forgot he is a reincarnated person.
  • Those 12 years old kids... ummm.... what can I say, don't like someone of their age.
  • MC was progressing pretty fast when he solo adventured in the sea, then those pests decide to join him.
  • I would have liked this novel when I was a beginner reader like I did with Soul Land but not now... it annoys me currently. I now feel cringe remembering Soul Land, yuck!!!
  • I don't know if i'll read this again to pass my boredom, I'm currently in chapter 227 when writing this review.

Caught up with the latest translated chapters and I felt that it’s a good cultivation novel with a rich backstory.

The MC is OP but not annoyingly arrogant imo, and its real fun.

There beginning is good, Han Fei seemed like a good protagonist with a fun personality at the start with his shameless behaviour and robbing tendencies.

Later, it progresses to be kind of annoying like he genuinely doesn't know that he's being shameless and being clueless.

Somewhere in the 500 chapters where they had to answer tests with ridiculous questions, one of the question was something similar to, 'a girl is sleeping, you walk up and kiss her and she wakes up stabbing you with a dagger, why?' The MC genuinely seemed confused as why the girl would stab you if you kissed her while sleeping and I am concerned about the mc's iq about women

The best parts of this novel are when MC is solo adventuring. These parts are simply amazing, we get to see so many cool adventures, fascinating danger zones, and great mystery/world exploring that we just don't get from other novels. This is truly a unique and interesting world that the author has created and it's the main reason I continue reading this novel. Author has done excellent in this regard and I have to give props to that.

However, now we come to the tedious parts of this novel which is... more>> the romance and academy team he joins around ch 140-150. The love interest/romance is by far the worst thing that the author has done. MC is a reincarnated adult and states early on that he likes older women because he is older in mental age. That changes pretty fast and the love interest is an annoying brat.

All I'll say about the rest of the academy team is that they don't really seem like friends with MC and that really irks me. It seems more like a bunch of kids (which they are) and their teacher. The team is only somewhat useful during fights really, everything else is done by MC. They literally beg MC for treasures, equipment, techniques, danger zone locations, money, food, etc. And MC hands everything to them on a silver platter. Seriously, he just gives away piles of money and techniques to them

One positive thing I will say is that the more you read, the more useless his team becomes and the more MC goes solo which is awesome and after a certain point, they are barely even mentioned in the story. The love interest, thankfully, gets separated for a LONG ass time which is a godsend. They only recently reunited which made me take a break from reading the novel.

Overall a 5/5 when MC is solo adventuring, 3/5 whenever MC is with his team/love interest. <<less

Amazing story really didn't think it will be this good I already read more than 5 novels after I finished this one but can't get it out of my mind, I wish it didn't end, I won't go into how good this novel get but give you a recommendation of it without looking at how many chapters it has or looking at other reviews you will like it from the beginning to the end, sigh wish I can read a master piece like this one

As others have mentioned in the comments, the main character (MC) is strong when solo, but the story takes a downturn when he's with a team. The system is good, but the romance is the worst part. I don't like how the MC seems to become dog to the girl's family due to the romance. He was killed by a member of his girlfriend's clan and had to resurrect later, but still allied with that clan. It's like he dares not kill that guy from the clan to avoid making... more>> the girl sad, despite being killed by him. However, when a human clan tries to kill him, he annihilates the entire clan, saying things like, "I will kill those that try to kill me." The worst part is that the girl's clan isn't even human, but a demon clan, an enemy of the human race. He dares not take revenge on them, but when it comes to human clan enemies, he kills them mercilessly. This is beyond the racial bottom line. <<less

I do not have much to say. The book is easily one of my all time favorites. But although it has its down points, I will not agree to someone saying the MC was telling his friends about his trump cards. Tell what??

His closest friend, childhood friend didn't even know he had it for over 10000 years that they have been together. How can you say he is showing his trump cards to his friends?

The fact that he keeps his cards to his chest is the reason why they still never understood how he always survived (well, how he mostly survived) ordeals. No one knows his trump cards. Han Fei is petty, paranoid to some extent, shameless and even the national exams review of him goes thus:

So, at least, that review of him telling his friends everything about himself is very very false. He is not a very trusting human being and he only lets his enemies go when he is sure they are under his control... otherwise he will not think twice to kill them to avoid future problems. <<less

The kid literally powers up by fishing and sucking the fishes spiritual power using some mysterious demon technique that he has to hide from others 😭

I dont know why I had hope for this book.

Honestly parts were confusing. MC is a tad too arrogant for my taste. Like can't go a chapter without getting into a fight. Which is fine normally, but I had a hard time understanding what this world setting even is.

In Start It's good, but after reading after 500 Chapter, it's getting boring. So I say after writing 500 chapter, author lost in imagination and start writing worst of worst.

MC solo is good, but with team fight everything became worst, only when MC do alone journey, it good.

Author did not know to how to make a love interest, so just he stuck a little bit story and it become love. So in romance genre it very worst.

My suggestion is if you want to read, then only read till 500 chapter,... more>> then forget it. <<less

I have been reading this novel in another website not the one mentioned in the list but since I liked it, I decided to write my review here.

I like it, I do. Unlike other cultivation novels based in ancient China, this one is based in a unique world and the story is actually nice, I like the whole strong but not that strong setting of the ml
