Still waiting for the extras so technically haven't finished reading yet, but I like this one a lot and wanted to leave a review so people would know what it's about.

A simple synopsis: the MC's mom has debt but has gone MIA, so the MC is forced to work for the woman she borrowed money from, who proceeds to financially manipulate him into working for her into perpetuity. One of his jobs is driving around the girls she pimps out who make coffee deliveries to rich older men. He ends... more>> up meeting the ML this way.

The ML falls in love at first sight and pressures the MC into a relationship he doesn't want. But the people around the MC reinforce how little they care about him, turn away from his pleas for help, and continue to threaten and ab*se him while the ML, though extremely self-centered in a way that causes harm to the MC, shows his feelings are at least sincere. The story is mostly about the MC's daily life/struggle as he tries to change his situation, as well as his developing relationship with and changing feelings towards the ML.

I actually kind of like the ML. While he has the set up of the "bastard abusive boyfriend love interest", he's not heartless like so many other ML's in novels like this and genuinely cares about the MC. The ML isn't mean to the MC for the sake of it, wants to do nice things for the MC, and even tries to change himself (though, again, he's self-centered so he only does what he thinks is the right thing to do, but hey he tries). He's a bastard boyfriend at the beginning of the story but has character development by the end. He's also not an emotionless pile driver in bed (though he's h**ny and kinky 24/7 and completely shameless about it...).

The MC starts out very reluctant to be with the ML, and it would be an understatement to say that the start of their relationship is rough (the first half is pretty dark, and that Comedic Undertone tag doesn't apply until the second half of the story). The MC falls in love with the ML later of course, but he's not blinded by it and isn't manipulated into thinking the ML is faultless. The MC makes the best of his situation, gets some character development, and gets a happily ever after.

I wasn't expecting to like the relationship between the MC and ML and also wasn't expecting to like the ML at all. But I do, and the story has emotional drama, character development, a happy ending, and is overall better than I expected it to be. 5/5 stars. <<less

It was surprisingly a nice read. The interaction between MC and ML were fun, aside from the beginning which were quite rough.

I like how the negative feelings that Woo Minjo (MC) has towards Chi Gioh (ML) were slowly developed into love. It felt like, at the end of the story, MC has found his happiness.

ML is a MAJOR h**ny person. If you like rough speech during the intimated part, you’ll probably love him. I found him quite a fun character to read. He is absolutely flaw, self-centred and, I repeat,... more>> h**ny that somehow I couldn’t hate him for the assaulting the MC. Besides, he’s absolutely obsessed with him, and I like how he take revenges for the people that hurt the MC.

The other review does a much better job at describing the story and the character, go read it!

Give it a try! <<less

I actually found the manhwa version of the bl first and then switched to the novel because I liked it very much. It's a good read and definitely delivers what's in the tags. ML and MC have like a 17 yr age gap too I think, their relationship starts out with the ML being very attracted to the MC and he wants the MC bad. Their relationship is questionable in the start but the MC eventually end up liking the ML too and chooses to be with him. There's a... more>> few dub-con scenes maybe non-con too, I don't rlly remember I read this last year. I also rlly like the ML like the other reviewer since he's the type of ML I enjoy, he's pe*verted asf but also very caring surprisingly and hates it when the MC does anything degrading to himself. This novel has dark themes with a comedic undertone but you can't rlly help but feel bad for the MC, even in the second half he still hasn't dealt with the past after he's in a relationship with the ml. It has a happy ending though and I liked how accepting the gangsters and the mls family were of their relationship.

I personally rlly enjoyed this novel and I've re-read it a bunch of times but what I can't stand are the comments of that one annoying person under every chapter, why are you crying literally under every chapter? Check the tags oml, If it's not your taste don't read it, this novel is in no way badly written, it's for people who enjoy dark romance, dub-con/ non-con and gangster mls and it delivers as such. 5/5 for me <<less
