After their parents passed away, Haejin, exhausted both physically and mentally from his older brother’s ab*se, encounters a man who visits their home due to a problem caused by his brother. The man, seeing Haejin’s obvious signs of ab*se, extends a strange form of kindness, and Haejin falls for him at first sight.

The man kills Haejin’s brother and, in place of the “meat price” he takes, gives Haejin a “black card,” which Haejin uses to sustain himself.

With the brother he considered a monster now dead, Haejin finds peace and begins to see the man as a savior, developing a blind affection for him. However, the man seems to give Haejin hope while simultaneously keeping him at a distance…

at first it seem like this story could be a good story it had potential, but then it was wasted because of the turn of events and bad writing. There was a huge age gap to the point that even the writer didn't address the age directly because obviously it was controversial, but I did the math and age gap is around 16 15 years.

The first s*xual interaction that they had٫ the bottom was not a minor, but the top admitted that he had thought about him having s*x with... more>> him ever since he was a minor so here's where it turns to a pdf file matter 🤡

I really liked the character of the bottom, It was well written. But in the contrary, the character of the top was just tr*sh. Author was trying so hard to illustrate a realistic picture of a real gangster with inhuman behaviors and questionable acts, but it just felt so disgusting not giving the vibe of "wow so that's how a real gangster is" the author really failed in that sense. It has clichés too which made it boring.

The top is really an awful person, and the author was trying to justify his character, decisions and wrongdoings by saying "He's not a good person" like repeatedly saying he's not a good person whenever chance they got but that is not a good excuse in anyway for me to accept the f*cked up acts that he did towards the bottom. He would constantly say that everything he does was for the sake of the bottom and keeping him safe, but he doesn't even take no for a no. Everything he does is actually harmful And damage to the bottom. He said that he didn't have a r*pe fetish, but it was the only thing that he had. He even said that if you were my brother like my blood brother, I would still touch you and wanted to have s*x with you. It was just so insufferable.

When the story takes turn into serious matters and that's where the actually story escalates, the only thing that made it worse wasn't the bottoms decision, It was the decision that made this so much worse and actually harmed the bottom the most. Like I understand why the bottom wanted to make that decision because first of all

he was in a state of shock and he wanted to get out of the situation even if it meant to sell his body and second, he didn't ask for help because he didn't want to have anything to do with the top anymore, and which made the whole situation worse was the decision that top made and blaming everything on the bottom. He could've just scolded him and listen to his reasoning but decided to torture and r*pe and treat the bottom like a who*e just to satisfy his jealousy and not wanting to accept the fact that the bottom didn't want to ask for his help because he didn't have any place in the bottom's life anymore, even though he was the one who chased the bottom away from his life and hurt him to break up with him.

I love it when a novel has everything I like and delivers on what it promises. This one definitely has its dark themes, so it's best to check the tags. The main story would've been a 4.5 but the side story made it a 5. It tied all the loose knots and turned it into a perfect ending.

First, I really loved the characters. MC had unfortunately a tough life, but he kept his resiliance and even developed a stronger core as the story advanced. I also liked that the ML... more>> wasn't the softer type of gangster guy, and he actually was scary at times (especially in the second half).

Their dynamic was also crazy good. I looove age gaps and this one wasn't the exception, it even had everything I like in this type of relationship. The difference of life stages, life styles and their personalities made it more complicated but entertaining too. I liked how ML admitted he wasn't really a good guy, and that MC came to realize that too.

About the 'controversial' actions by ML towards the end, I don't really see them as that because he's a gangster, so of course he wouldn't really have good morals. It sure made my jaw drop though, because I didn't think the novel would go there, but I'm ok that it did.

Another thing I liked was the ending. I loved that there was a sort of

negotiation and MC stood up for himself, realizing he also had some power over ML.

Part of me wanted more retribution, but at least that was acknowledged, MC is conscious of that and ML accepted his fault too. It felt like everything came to a circle.

Speaking of that last thing, this is even stated in the side story, where we could read more from the ML's thoughts and how their dynamic evolved after clearing up things. The progression made a lot of sense and the last scene was heartwarming. At the end, it wasn't just ML who saved MC from his terrible life conditions, but MC also saved ML from himself and brought better things to his life.

I honestly enjoyed this story. It was refreshing to see an MC that wasn’t a naive fool. He understood how to stand up for himself and did so whenever he could. He worked hard to pay back the ML, even though he was never asked to do so. He also understood what kind of person the ML was and didn’t try to change him or romanticize him. I appreciated the slow build of the relationship. They didn’t just start sleeping together when the MC became a legal adult. It took... more>> time for them to get to know each other and to fall for each other.

As for the TW, obviously, there’s the physical ab*se from the brother. Then the graphic depictions of violence the ML commits against his enemies. But it’s a gangster BL, so that’s pretty much to be expected. What I did not like was

the ML r*ping the MC towards the end of the novel. The ML did it to teach the MC not to treat his own body uselessly, but I felt he went a bit far. It didn’t just happen once though. The ML ‘buys’ the MC and continues to r* him for a few chapters. And at first, the MC thinks he deserves it and stays with the ML. However, the MC soon realizes this is wrong. He confronts the ML about it and tells the ML that this is wrong and demands an apology. Which, the ML apologizes and they slowly build a healthier relationship.

So, if you enjoy a good Gangster BL with some delayed sexy scenes and an MC who stands up for themselves, then I’d give this a read. If you have issues with violence and r*pe, then please pass this one up. <<less
