Henry, born in a royal family without skills, is given territory on the border. It’s a grassland full of monsters,, with no people, no resources, and no hope.

Disheartened, Henry wanders the grasslands and falls underground through a hole. However, the moment he touches a stone monument there, words echo in his mind.

It is a mysterious dungeon filled with ancient items, traps, and malevolence. If you die inside, you lose your status and have to start over, but that doesn’t matter to Henry’s off-the-charts skill, “Maintain Status”. No matter how many times he dies, he can always grow and start over.

Henry will die again today. All for the sake of developing his territory with dungeon clear rewards.

The story would have been much more interesting if it didn't skip a lot of the process early on.

Spoiler

The whole growing insanity thing just kind of disappeared without any aftereffects, and now he's just a no-good husband being looked down on by his harem members. Though of course they're not going out yet, it's pretty obvious...

Anyway, it would have been much better watching him slowly descend into insanity while going through the roguelike dungeon and dying over and over. Then, the healing process of the wolf and the elf girls could have started. It would have been easily two arcs worth of character development and made the inevitable future growth of the territory and downfall of the old kingdom more gripping, while giving a firm foundation for the dungeon delving part.

Instead, we have him starting the roguelike. Then time skip and he's already insane (?) and he meets the wolf. The time skip and he meets the elves and suddenly he comes back to sanity.

[collapse]

Solid concept, weak execution. Maybe the LN does it better. <<less

So, the writing and translation quality so far is fine. I personally would have preferred a little more time spent on the loneliness induced madness of the prince, but otherwise its a solid premise that is moving at a decent pace. I have no idea why there is an elf with a 9mm on the cover, though. That is still a mystery.

So far only a handful of chapters have been translated but it looks interesting. The Dungeon he explores follows an RPG type system and his unique ability which is otherwise useless becomes a 'cheat' there because of a glitch. But all that means is that he has the ability to get stronger. He still has to put in time and effort for it.
