The 'elderly couple' in the synopsis refers to Dongfang Bubai and Yang Lianting (from Smiling, Proud Wanderer) if they had lived and grown old together.

However, as someone who hasn't read the original novel, I don't think I grasped the plot references which might've made me not understand their relationship on a deeper level (like the og novel-readers would), but all I got from this oneshot was — these two are adorable, especially their bickering. It was unfortunately a bit too short even for a oneshot, so nothing much happened but... more>> I still don't regret anything. The translation was also beautifully done and it was pleasing to read.

Overall, I'd say you might enjoy it if you're either a fan of DFB & YLT or just want to read about a cute old couple, as this oneshot doesn't have much of a plot and is entirely focused on their interactions. <<less

Like the other reviewer, I did not read the original source. Unlike the other reviewer, I did read the two chapters relating to DB and YL, because I had read the Reborn AU and it captured my interest. So for those of you in a similar niché, this will make you emo and really makes your heart sing for the untold stories we never heard about their lives.
