Yun Shan was once the top player in the “Doomsday Camp.”

Owning vast lands, creating a legion of beasts, and nurturing the strongest server-wide battle pets.

But unexpectedly, after waking up from slumber, Yun Shan found herself three years in the past.

Back then, she was just introduced to the game and hadn’t even registered an account yet.

Yun Shan muttered, “…”

Fortunately, the game “Doomsday Camp” boasted an extremely high degree of freedom.

Leveraging the knowledge she had from the past, Yun Shan quickly returned to the peak.

[Fourth Catastrophe, refreshing narrative, summoned player’s perspective] [Initial mutual favorability at one hundred percent]

i felt like it was a slightly inferior imitation of Apocalypse Lord. They do have their fair share of differences but I think that this book could've been a lot more promising if the there had been more romance integrated in it because unlike apocalypse lord, the ML and FL in doomsday camp had chemistry and while we do get to know that they were a couple before the regression, the lack of romance after flight rebirth/ regression made me feel like they were trying to force it with no... more>> romance trope. While apocalypse lord was a book that definitely shines even with its lack of romance, doomsday camp would have done way better if there had been more romance elements in it.

otherwise the story building was pretty okay and the game world life seemed interesting. I really liked the main characters our FL and ml. What I do like about this book more than apocalypse lord was how the NPCs had way more depth and building. The battle pets were a lovely addition.

overall an okay read. Wouldn't re read but definitely recommend if you are interested in base construction type of novels. <<less

I’m done with the novel, and it was a worthwhile read. Just for the record the actual website has translated and unlocked all the chapters (so it’s more than 26

different aspects of the novel was very good the plot was interesting although the ending slightly rushed it did make sense.

I normally dislike novels focused on game but I really enjoyed it hard to explain what I like but one thing I appreciate is that the FMC is very laid back but still pursues money and doesn’t have like a hero... more>> complex.

not good at writing comment but when reading this I don’t think you will find any annoying character even if there some it usually solved quickly and no recurring villains. <<less

This story is... interesting. The concept isn't anything new and it's kinda enjoyable. There is even decent world building. That is, until we reach the ending. And then it's just... done.

The MC is Yun Shan, a woman who reawakens several years in the past after reaching a landlord level status in a game. She doesn't have very much personality other than the desire to get back to the same level she was before she regressed. And to help the ML recover from his illness. Everything she does revolves around those... more>> two goals. On occasion, she will help others but it doesn't feel like she's doing it out of the kindness of her heart.

The ML is Lu Ming, the lord of the base in the game. He has even less of a personality than the MC does. He falls for the MC at first sight and has no qualms with using his power as base lord to help her when he can. Of course, it's not really much help other than giving her property or "codes" to play the game. In fact, you could almost say he has two settings and that's "protect the base" and "like the MC".

Spoiler

Turns out, the ML's world is real and he's the one who is capable of pulling gamers or "travellers" to that world. He can only connect a player once and if they die, then they are blocked off from ever replaying. He's done this because his world has been struck by an apocalypse and having the gamers come over helps rebuild.

[collapse]

We're introduced to some fairly quick world building. The MC lives in the modern world and the ML's world is a "holographic" virtual world. Each player only has a limited amount of time each day which can be increased by leveling up or by the game system deciding that the player is healthy enough. Everyone is also ranked on a "star" system which is pretty much the standard level, just with a max of level 5. The higher your level, the greater chance to go insane and wipe out everything around you.

The ML, obviously, is level 4 and hits level 5 by the end of the story.

We're introduced to a lot of characters but it's quickly categorized into two groups. Helpers for the MC or cannon fodder. In fact, you can almost gaurantee that if a character is named, and it's not one of the points where the MC is looking to trade or get help, then that character is going to die.

There is also a lot of back plotting from people that we have no idea about until an event happens. One major plot point had almost no build up or hint about prior to it.

Spoiler

Such as the attempt from the other base to take over. There is a random line about spies from that base and then it quickly moves into the plot point of an assasination attempt. The story is short, yes, but it's such a fast paced part of the book that it almost feels like the author was rushed to finish it.

Add in that the mastermind for the whole thing dies off screen and I was left fairly confused.

[collapse]

Regardless, it's a quick read so it's not all that bad. Until we get to the ending and we have a late game "twist" and then slamming into a wall level of ending.

Spoiler

The twist being that the ML is connected to the full system and could even arrange to meet the MC. Unfortunately, their first go around didn't get enough "acheivement" points so they couldn't do it. So they traded it all for a second chance. Only, they chose to maintain the memories of the MC so that she could level up faster and make every event much more successful. They even incorporated a car accident into their scheme so that she would be able to go back earlier.

The ML, of course, edits the request when she's sent back so that he would retain his feelings for her. So it's less love at first sight and feelings carried over from the previous timeline.

And then he ends up in her world and has bought a house near hers.

Before ending.

[collapse]

Overall, not something I'm going to reread and not something I'd recommend for infrastructure or apocalypse fans. It's good if you want something quick to read with problems being very quickly solved. <<less

Started reading, enjoying it, vibing with it... until the end of chapter 16.

There seems to an abrupt and to me quite shocking shift in tone and possibilities here.

I wonder if the author thought the original story was too “nice” and went for something more “edgy”?

I am so thrown out of the story here. I don’t know if I will ever come back to this.

I was trying to score it as 3 and 1/2 albeit that it was good I was really loss at the end, like what the hell happened.

Doing the regression thing that made sense in the story.

I get that it would make them meet each other but really made things happen in between blurred and not really well explained.

It was a good read but not a good created ending. It was happy but open.
