“Do you want your passport back?”

He stared directly into her eyes, which were shining under her short bangs.

“…Give it back.”

“Then you will have to work hard for it.”

As she chewed the meat in her mouth, another piece came along. Avoiding it was not easy, especially since she feared the fork might become a weapon in his hand.

The meat, which she barely managed to chew, lodged itself in her throat in large chunks.

“What should I do to get it back?”

“Didn’t any adults teach you this while you were growing up? You can’t just ask for what you want, so don’t phrase it that way.”

A sizable chunk of meat remained stuck in her throat, and Sarin clenched her fist, tapping her chest in desperation.

“Hmm…”

“Well, if you had just spent that money on laundry, we wouldn’t even be facing each other like this. Don’t you think?”

It started as a simple favour for money, but it quickly turned into malice. Owen’s interest bordered on cruelty, and his golden eyes glistened with a crazed look that gave her goosebumps on her wrist.

“…My flight is just around the corner. I have to go back.”

Not wanting to continue eating, he carelessly set down his fork. She heard the metal clatter against the plate.

“That’s your situation.”

It became clear that her situation was far from over.

The story is really interesting so far. Usually in stories like this (involving the mafia and smut etc.) the FL is always strong and she knows how to kick ass. However, it's kinda cool to see another FL that's not that OP and is just desperate to do things because of the people she loves (her sister and nephew). She has her own weaknesses but she's not fragile either.

The more she learns about the place, the stronger she becomes. She has a really good character development so far. Also, the... more>> misunderstandings are easily cleared up in the early chapters which is very good.

I also love the ML because he asks for her consent first before doing anything *ehem*.

Anyway, when she said stuff like "don't lay a finger on me, the ML agree. like "ok sure, so if you don't want me to touch you then I'll just m*sturbate in front of you" (trust me, this scene was so hot)

The masturbating scene was ch 22 I think, or somewhere in early 20s. And their first night was ch 30.

Trust me, it isn't like some other smut with bland and "meh" scenes.... their scenes are really hot hahaha

it was pretty good

I loved the FL and the ML was quite good moreover both wanted each other from the start and I really love their relationship its sweet and wholesome.

there also some good side characters and story is quite interesting too.

... more>> also some tags are missing in NU (first time interc**rse / romance /devoted love interest)

its a solid 4/5 stars in my opinion.

unfortunately the translation had some mistakes with the (she / he) and it was confusing to understand who talks sometimes.

Nonetheless if you searching for modern romance with gangs and strong ML /devoted FL this one is a must read. <<less

It was such a great storyline. The plot was interesting. Characters was flawed and complex. Their development throughout was good. It was a dark romance with each characters has their own trauma and dilemmas which led them to their decisions.

The story was really interesting, with a mixture of adult drama, action, romance, and smut, it was overall good. My only concern was the translation. I thank the translator for putting such an effort but to be honest, it s**ked. It ruined the flow of the story, the intensity, the emotions.

The misuse of she/he was I often encounter with the story. Yuri (ML right hand), I get confused whether she was a girl or a boy bcoz again--the translation. He was a MAN. Another, Hayan/White (FL nephew), some chapters he was referred to as a girl and some chapters reffered him as a boy, I was like WTF? But he really is a boy. I read some spoilers on the forum. Sometimes, I get confused who are talking, whom speaking to who, and the lack of coherent also. It was so bad, I thought I should have dropped it but the story was promising and I would like to know their relationship progress. Plus, some scenes doesn't makes sense to me or maybe bcoz of the translation? But it was really off. The ending was good, but I really hope there was more, like give us deep, heart-wrecking, fluffy ending!

But anyways, give it a try. The storyline was really good. And the characters were interesting also. Hope other sites will translate it tho. (Hope the NoveltyRead (?) translation) *fingers crossed*

With how violent and forceful the ML was introduced, I never expected for this couple to become so wholesome lmao.

I really enjoyed reading it. The characters are complex and have real depth to them. And even the side characters or extras doesn't really feel like disposable. They have real contribution to the story. FL takes a long time deciding something but when she does, she sticks to it. Helpless FLs are usually not to my taste and they can get annoying for me but this FL was just desperate and reasonably so. What I love about her is that you can see her doing her best just trying to understand how to navigate his world and him. After I finished reading, I came to think that she is a strong person.

ML is... grey. He does have red flag tendencies but he has clear boundaries of what he should and shouldn't do especially in regards to how he runs the place which reflects the control he has in it. The dogs... enough said, they are simply my absolute favorite in this story. I LOVE THEM!

Beware of the pronouns as it can seriously cause you to misunderstand some characters' gender.
