The Jester ―― More commonly known as the ‘Playboy’ Dylan, was fired from the party of the Heroes. The self-centred Heroes didn’t understand Dylan’s importance to the group.

They were just a group of one-man teams. Not interested in cooperation at all. Any failures are blamed on the jester. Dylan, who was disgusted with such companions and was sick of playing as their comedic foil, happily accepted being kicked out.

The Heroes didn’t know. After saving them many times over with his magic tricks, the level 99 jester can change his job title to that of a ‘Great Sage’.

“Life, how about a rewrite?”

He’s done being the clown. From here on out, he’s going to take the leading role.

I read ahead in the raws, so here is what to expect: the cover picture is accurate for the content. 40% of the content is the main character is a jester/playboy/magic trickster even after becoming a Sage and gaining vast magic. 30% of the content is the two big breast lolis, with it frequently being mentioned that their breasts are huge and sway a lot. The MC also sleeps with them, but le*d stuff is mostly implied. The remaining 30% of the content is a background plot where the typical... more>> demon lord versus heroes plot gets a little complexity and intrigue.

In short, this is for someone that is okay with the MC easily defeating enemies with card trick/stageshow magic in between having the two overly busty lolis glomp him. <<less

If you need healing, this is what you should read. In a world where everything decent has been dropped by their lazy translators, this alone fills the void in my heart. Viva oppai loli.

It starts out well and is a fun example of it's genre with a few unique twists to keep it interesting....... But then suffers from sudden tonal shift disorder (STSD).

Most the people who would like the tone of the first 24-25 chapters are the kind of people who do NOT like the events post-STSD and are likely to drop the story after the tone shift.

This leaves a story where on one hand the author has started building fans only to leave them feeling betrayed, and on the other hand the... more>> kind of people who would like the new tone generally wouldn't stay around long enough to get to that part. It's a dead end when you are trying to build popularity for a story. <<less

The MC was a support class in a party to slay the demon lord. His original party is tr*sh, so he saves their lives, drops the team and goes to grind with him being a carry instead.

The girls are shortstacks, not lolis.

Strengths are that the MC is not an idiot and wants to drive forward the plot. Weaknesses would be in the weak character development and world building.

Solid so far. Slightly OP MC but not quite sure how OP yet.

Spoiler

Judging from the fact that they lost to the first demon general he's not too OP. Fingers crossed for a story that's not another invincible MC.

Edit:

So there's some incongruity. Even though Dylan changed his job from jester to sage he still has jester impulses. I think there was mentioning of how one of the big reasons for why he wanted to change was because he no longer wanted to be restricted by the jester side effects. However after the job change there are several instances of him not being able to control the jester urges. Not a big problem but a problem. I like how the heros story were tied up. Still solid so far.

Translator-san seems to be OK and that's pretty nice. Story leans more on slice of life than adventure and that's perfect for me. This has potential, give it a chance and keep your eyes on it. <<less

This really is a fun read. With the exception of a few dark elements it is a lighthearted story of adventure, companionship, and busty short girls having three ways with the MC.

not bad.

-

too bad the author dropped this (its nearly 2 years since the last update).

i like the story overall, love the MC, the side characters so far, the story is a bit lighthearted and the events are not too serious. Just like the guy who pointed abt the STSD syndrome in the story, it did feel uncomfortable and odd but it doesn't bother me that much and I don't really care as long as the story does a 180° (pr the characters)

-

All in all pretty good. The comedy is fun and the MC feels refreshing. <<less

It's a good light easy read, sure it's pretty boring if your looking for intrigue or actual plot, and although I would love to read more it looks like MWM dropped translating this. As in it's listed in their list of dropped projects.

The story is light, and fun, lots of magic tricks and a bit of action while they are exploring, le*dness is implied.

Just a good story to relax with. No intrigue, little plot and all around fun.

The translation is good, with no major grammar or punctuation issues spotted.

The MC is quite likable and a nice break from all the sword wielding meatheads, but the women...

I think the author was working out some issues with the women, and forgot to make them more than cardboard caricatures of p*rn stars.

If you don't mind that, though, it's an enjoyable read.

We are talking about the same generic fantasy harem tr*sh we read, with some "complex" political conspiracy and stuff.

HOWEVER this time, the MC is the guy that would ocupy the rol of the cheerful "fox eyed" character, and it really feels refreshing after all the virg*n edgelord fags we allways find in any other fantasy harem. Calm, smart, kind.... leaving the playboy thingy aside.... this kind of "mature MC´s" are a rare find.

We dont read this kind of crap for deep, complex, atstounding scripts (if you do... I pitty you...... more>> actually no, screw you) just for laughs and the good feeling of "hehe everything is fine". Our boi is good boi <<less

It started pretty fun, but after they started climbing the tower it became boring. Tower climbing and dungeon explorations are probably the dumbest and most boring cliche plots...

I really like it!

I wasn't expecting much, tbh. I figured it'd be another gimmick series because of the super big b**bs thing but the story's pacing and its MC were much better than I expected them to be -- the story toes the line between le*d stuff and actual events. The MC is also quite capable and isn't a pushover.

I should mention that there's a situation at chapter 20-something that's a lot darker than the early parts of the story, but this was a huge plus for me. Contrary to... more>> some of the reviewers here, I was constantly hoping the story would occasionally get serious and that's what happens. The event dismissed my worries that the series would devolve into fluff with no story. I should also mention that it doesn't COMPLETELY change the tone of the story because the story and its outcomes still remain quite upbeat.

If you're wondering what the event is, here's a light spoiler:

Spoiler

A ruthless enemy shows up and his actions are pretty vicious compared to what we've seen up until that point. I think that's what may have bothered a few readers. Personally I'm a big fan of vicious enemies as long as the MC gives them what they've got coming, and that's what happens here.

[collapse]

So, yeah. This is a mostly cheerful/humorous story with rare struggles that make the MC's grinding worthwhile. <<less

Oh hey, Dragon Quest reference, nice. Unsure if related though. A Jester can change jobs to be a sage mid game in Dragon Quest 3 and that way is superior to the Mage and priest class. Due to better protection and other in game things.

Anyway can't make a full review as it currently has few chapters.

But it's rather average and typical, Tina is the worst character so far and drags down the quality so much. So if she gets better I don't know. I also don't enjoy 18 year olds... more>> (or so she says) looking like 13 year olds with, what the main character describes as "Bigger than her head" makes me distinctly feel uncomfortable and the artwork revolving her looks bad as it's very unapologetic s*upid in body development

Characters other than Tina, so far, are much better but not outstanding or noteworthy except for the main character who acts as expected.

typical low quality stuff not worth investing in. <<less
