The initial chapters are quite different from the summary;

- MC and ML are fake-fiances

- MC likes her 'abandoned woman' lifestyle and prefer ML to be away

- ML thinks MC is materialistic and superficial

It is a modern days sweet & fluffy novel. It has a common feature like other novels where ML is very rich, powerful & handsome. FL also beautiful and from a rich background. But there's a little twist. It's the main reason for making this novel beautiful.

ML is actually a illegitimate child who was abused by his stepmother. Though his grandparents knew it, they just turned a blind eye towards it. Like this, he became devoid of joy and sorrow. Meanwhile, though FL is from rich background, she is abused and being misunderstood by her father and upper class society. Due to experience derailment of her father, she became afraid of marriage. So, ML and FL were engaged but they were just a unfamiliar passerby to each other. Gradually, they came together. ML find joy and FL find warmth in their companionship. Though there were some trials and tribulations as Chinese romantic relationships are incomplete without these 🙂🙂. At last they get married. The last dialogue of FL is very heartwarming ---"I'm afraid of getting married. But now I am not. Because I met you"❤❤

If you want a roller coaster type one this is not for you. Apart from some excitement in middle, it is a easy going type normal day mode novel. Also if you don't like second generation rich man with a buy-buy type Bai fumai don't read it. It will only bore you. <<less

Another light fluffy read!

if you have ever read “Endo and Kobayashi’s live commentary on the Villainess”, you’re gonna get some serious double head turns AKA our MF is a HUGE PAIN IN THE NECK TSUNDERE. For good reason. And our ML loves her but is a stone faced emotion idiot.

You can taste the misunderstandings and conflict already right?

... more>> Why I liked it:

  • subtle steam: we get very subtle suggestions on how intense the s*x is (yes, even though MF considers them to be fake engage they do have s*x (rolls eyes))
  • realistic trauma: like all dramas there is backstory. Mainly MF’s, though we do get a bit of a suggestion on why ML is an emotions idiot.
  • Happy Ending: we get an emotional reveal of love and commitment before our happy ending
Why you might not like it:

  • Woohoo capitalism: Our Mains are crazy rich, like Crazy Rich Asians rich, like use your money for something useful already rich. And that element plays a real and alive tool into their character. NONE of the characters in this story are relatable to the common people, but come on it’s a fantasy romance.
  • TALK TO EACH OTHER: given how rich they are, you’d think someone would mention therapy or just talking to each other. But nope, they don’t talk to each other until the very end. It’s all “talk isn’t necessary”, “I have money”, and sh*t like that.
  • What DO you do: This story is basically about a girl dealing with emotional trauma by partying and spending money. But we don’t really see the MF do anything really. She fights (read as flirts) with the ML and her greedy family and that’s basically it.

Super cute, though there are quite a lot of incoherent plot elements. I love how both the MC and ML are very arrogant, had no feelings for each other before, and somehow they made their relatiomship work.

The FL is spoiled. Soft inside but arrogant outside.

ML is too cold. At first, he despised FL, then *i don't know what happen* ML liked FL.

Too much vanity and I like it.

I really liked the beginning although it was pretty cliche, it was full of fluff and it was pretty sweet!!! But in the middle, the author gave it a lot of spice and drama.... which was really stressful and I didnt really like that part... in the end, I just dropped it... but it was still okay.... I dont really like how the author put that in the middle....

I've finished to read this novel. I don't have words to express how I feel. First, I love the relation between the Mains characters, I love the way that Shumi fallen in love with Ji linchen, how Ji linchen given all to her, and the most important, his loyal. I only have a critic, and it is about their child, Shumi doesn't a good job trying to demostrate her love to her son, and Ji linchen don't help with the situation, poor child, but, I love the epilogue.

Mostly forgettable.

This story, Your Most Faithful Companion, and Sweetest Fake Couple are like the trifecta of rich people arranged marriage stories featuring an overbearing CEO and pampered little wife that are forced to cohabitate. Like the other two novels, social media and netizen comments play a huge role in the story's development and the couple's bonding. Also like the other two, these people are rich af and burn money like there's no tomorrow.

Unfortunately, this one is the weakest of the three. It's the most makjang/dogblooded of the trio, and as... more>> others have mentioned, ML seems to fall in love with FL for no clear reason; FL starts out as a badass bit*h in the beginning, but turns docile after being doted upon by ML; and the villains and secondary leads are one-dimensional plot devices that don't really add any stakes to the story. Still, I read through to the end since it was only 55 chapters and there was still some entertainment value from the ML's pampering. But in hindsight, I'd rather have gone and re-read either of the other two stories instead. <<less
