… closed.

Rong Yue looked around the temple, threw away the Marxism book in his hand, and planned to calmly accept the collapse of the world.

Unexpectedly, after the darkness passed, he actually travelled to a savage-like world. His skills in the game are all still there but he returned to level 1.

He wore as a weak and incompetent ‘sacrifice’.

Facing a crippled husband, the old, the weak, and the disabled, and a situation where there is no food or water, Rong Yue’s eyes dimmed.

…As a former pope, he only have a makeshift staff and tiny holy balls to save his life.

Implementing the basic policy of not giving up nor abandoning people.

If there is no tribe, just built one yourself!
Since there is no one, we will live by ourselves!
If there is nothing to eat, farm them yourself!
If there are no roads, we create and fix one by ourselves!

Many years later, Rong Yue and his top, built a city, leading the savage people to a well-off lifestyle!

The story is not bad. It's about an NPC who suddenly transmigrated into a body of a "sacrifice" (basically a priest) who has an ex-strongest-warrior-in-the-tribe husband. It's quite an enjoyable story with many sweet characters. This story is really not perfect.

But, what irks me the most is THE PACING

I swear I went back and forth with the chapters just to make sure I didn't miss anything. The story likes to jump here and there making me dazed and confused about what the hell is going on. It's like one time... more>> they are in the tribe discussing food and whatnot and the next page they are suddenly preparing for the war.

And THE ENDING! Oh my god, I feel so cheated!! It's like the author was having a writer's block towards the end of the story.

Spoiler

So basically, on the last 20 chapters, our lovely MC FELL ASLEEP DURING A BEAST WAVE THAT SUPPOSED TO BE THE FINAL SHOWDOWN OR CLIMAX OR WHATEVER.

I thought the author was going to do MORE because he/she already wrote PREMONITIONS halfway of the story. So, I had my EXPECTATIONS. And guess what? It CRUMBLES DOWNNNNNNN like a sandcastle kicked by a naughty kid from a neighboring beach.

Oh, and, you know what's worse?

THE FREAKING MC BECOMES A GOD AND RESET EVERYTHING THEY BUILT. AND FOR WHAT?!

They said, it's to maintain the so called peace between order and chaos.

Ok, sure, the world reset and there will be no superpower/holy power/magic/divinity and devil qi. Great, awesome. Then, the world will be like normal Earth.

BUT WAIT!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

THE MC SUDDENLY CAN SUMMON HIS HOLY BALLS!?!

SAY WHAAAAA???????

IF SO, WHAT'S THE DIFFERENCE BETWEEN BEFORE RESET AND AFTER RESET?!

ML: Oh, now my husband can summon holly balls without his wooden staff...

OHHH WOWWW AMAZINGGGGG!!! SO ALL THAT SWEAT, BLOOD, AND TEARS THAT YOU GUYS SHED TO BUILD YOUR BELOVED XINGYUE TRIBE EXCHANGED FOR..... THE EXACT SAME POWER BUT WITHOUT A FREAKING WOODEN STAFF + EXTRA STRUGGLES?

WOW WHAT A GREAT DEAL!! :D

*slow claps*

And why do I mention extra struggles? Because after reset, MC and ML went back in time where they were still in their old tribe. Without food, without shelter, without prestige, and mostly without the recognition of the people they love. Wow, what a perfect ending. Amazing. So amazing. Totally worth wasting your time :)

It feels like you have an old bucket, and you fight hard with aunties just to get a pretty new discounted bucket on the supermarket. You manage to get it, and you're happy, but when you fill it with water, you realize it has a hole on it. So you ditch your new bucket and back to your old bucket. Back to square one. All the time, energy, and money that you invested is meaningless.

Make it make sense sis :)

**note that I use extreme sarcasm in case you didn't notice**

Thank you author for making me remember you as a time waster :)

[collapse]

Honestly this story could be great ONLY if they can choose one thing to focus on, either;

- focus on developing the tribe to be super tribe or city

Or

- focus on killing the beasts, finding the source, and kill it or seal it

Both are fine IF the story has MORE THAN 200 CHAPTERS.

But, this novel is not. So, when they try to put both objectives and cramp it into 130s chapters, it will feel so abrupt.
Anyways, don't expect too much. That's all.

P.s. I wanted to rate 3 stars but my thumb slipped and cl**ked on 4 stars <<less

I got so confused reading this.

Because so many elements were poured into one story that didnot have the best condition and setting for them to bloom.

It's prehistoric or cave men age but not really that. It's some sort of fantasy cultivation setting but not really. It's building the tribe and the world but not really.

The development of the characters (not only the MC and ML) were confusing too.

It definitely has pacing issues right from the start.
Sometimes nothing really happens for several chapters, then suddenly so much is happening in the span of a few days that none of it is sufficiently described, the story gets put on 4x speed and we are confronted with the results.
On the other hand, the passage of time isn't mentioned nearly enough, so you have to guess how long what took and if the changes are believable or if you need another dose of suspension of disbelieve.

The setting is slightly... more>> mismatched, there are many different points taken from various tropes and genres sloppily mixed together, it seems the writer just took her favourite ones and tried to make it work.
Does it work? Not really, world building is confusing, details are completely missing, it's so bare-boned that you'll likely have more questions than answers, which (so far) have all been either glossed over or simply ignored.
"It is how it is", that's the writer's motto.

Characterisation isn't anything worth mentioning, the story is heavily focused on OP-MC, even the ML gets very little attention, he even seems to vanish sometimes and gets mentioned only in passing.
He's basically a background character, like everyone else except for the MC, who isn't really the most likeable person around... I would have loved for the focus to be much less on him alone.

Of course, there's no end to the face-slapping, only people MC personally acknowledges as characters aren't downright scum, that leaves a handful of poorly flashed out background actors with little personality who's sole job it is to support MC's every whim.

The story isn't extremely bad or anything, mediocre with some glaring problems, but certainly worth a shot for those who are into OPness + base-building + fantasy and aren't too bothered by any of the cons. <<less
