Endless gambling debts of the older brother, a sick grandfather. Amin, who has lived steadfastly even in suffocating circumstances, is dragged into the organization ‘Unsan’ instead of his brother who ran away with debts.

The mother of all cliches!!! It's a good, fun, quick read if you just want to enjoy a weak, doormat MC get together with ultra-powerful boss ML.

Sometimes we just wanna turn off our brains and enjoy some weak uke and overbearing seme romance like it's 2010.

Besides that, I'm going to say that the plot is extremely predictable. I really like mafia BLs so I tolerate reading a lot of nonsense plots, and I even managed to finish all 120 chapters of this story. But did I feel good afterward or feel accomplished? Not really.

The MC doesn't get a lot of development, he just goes from having a bad home to having a good home, and he's literally referred to as the ML's mutt/puppy the entire story (but endearingly lol).... more>> I, for one, stand for meek/pushover MCs, but Amin is even worse than Kim Dan from Jinx. He's that meek. But I'm sure there'll be a reader out there who appreciates his patheticness, I just find it more frustrating than cute sometimes.

The ML doesn't really have much development outside of falling in love with the MC. Imma be frank, you'll probably find their dynamic a little boring. It's just typical mob boss ML who likes to tease/bully the in-debt MC and finds him very cute, is really nice to him and treats him like a beloved pet, and they have lots of s*x.

But like... that's it, lol. No mindbending plot twists, not much worldbuilding in general, but if you like the MC and ML's character archetypes, you'll probably still enjoy reading the story. I mean there is a plot, but you could probably predict everything that will happen the moment you see the signs. That's all to say don't expect too much out of this novel. At least you'll avoid disappointment. <<less

MC is basically used as collateral to settle the debt of his older brother. Kidnapped by a gang/loansharks, MC is threatened with physical and s*xual ab*se, is imprisoned, ab*sed, and isolated while the gang decides what to do with him, and is threatened with the possibility of being sold off. But instead of trafficking the MC, the gang leader ML ends up using him for some kinky pet play.

From the very first moment the MC sees the ML, he immediately sets his sights on gaining his favor for the sake... more>> of his own survival, but quickly starts to genuinely appreciate the ML despite the ML directly victimizing him through kidnapping, threats of violence, unlawful imprisonment, coercion, etc. Despite being terrified of him, the MC also likes the ML because... he provided him with food and new clothing. MC's so scarred from his past that he immediately becomes fond of anyone who takes care of him, and he effectively Stockholm Syndromes himself the moment the ML shows him something like kindness. The writing leaves it a little unclear but it's probably a case of "Protagonist Falls in Love First". Even the ML thinks the MC is weird about the situation.

Mind the tags - MC has some traumatic experiences during the story, and he was sexually assaulted in his backstory (doesn't qualify for the "Rape" tag because it isn't shown in-story, but there's your trigger warning). The ML, while still, like, problematic about it, is the least scummy about physical intimacy with the MC that we see, and ML straight up says that he doesn't want to r*pe him. Though the ML is in a position of power over the MC and is kind of pressuring him about it, the MC starts genuinely wanting to be intimate with the ML and never feels bad about his treatment. So there's that. Match made in heaven.

You want immoral ML + weak MC + confinement + obsessive/possessive love, but also don't want the MC to suffer too much or be too unhappy? Here, we have an MC who is all in for his cruel ML. Enjoy. <<less

Predictable yet captivating enough to wanna see how it all plays out. Misunderstandings are solved fairly fast thus far. Imagining myself as a side character reacting to the main characters actions is endlessly amusing to me.

like imagine watching your boss make someone crawl with a leash in front of everybody after almost beating one of your coworkers with a golf club. I'd be gossiping with my coworkers like crazy after that

At first I was hesitant to read this bc ML was a weirdo and infantalizing the MC but I grew to like it because the translator did so well by making it so compelling to read. I like that their characters were consistent as well and the drama between In beom and his brother wasn't dragged out for too long and that the main conflict wasn't overdone as well. So I'd consider this a light read and one of the few novels that I actually finished through the end because... more>> of how fun it was for me. It's quite graphic, but yeah I'd recommend this anyone. I literally stayed up all night reading the whole 108 chapters, if you Wan something semi light or dark romance this is a good read. Thanks for the translation because I was so immersed. This is good manhwa material, the author should get on it. <<less

But regarding the tl, sometimes it change from 3rd person to 1st person pov randomly. But overall it's good!

Altough I think it's a shame how ML is called CEO more often than his own name lol. And I wonder how much their age gap is for ML to treat MC like a child, even tho MC is already 21. It's an enjoyable, light, and cliche age-gap story, good to read to pass time. <<less

I had a lot of fun reading this!

As someone said, this is cliche after cliche but done in a way that's entertaining. It delivers what it promises that's why I rated it highly despite having simple story, because what the tags say it's what you get, plain and simple, so make sure you read them properly.

I was looking for a possessive gangster and a naive cinnamon roll so it was perfect for me. I especially liked how the CEO actually behaved like a cruel and egoistical gangster most of the... more>> time to the point I even missed his more domineering side at the end, when he got softer for his lover, but it was cute regardless.

The only thing that made me uncomfortable

was how the CEO constantly calls Amin child or kid (he's 21y.o. so don't worry) even in the most intimate moments, so that took me out of the reading immersion sometimes...

It's important to note that this is the type of novel you read with your brain turned off, so don't expect great plot twists or deep plot points. It's more like a self-indulgent reading with a dark romance undertone, so enjoy! <<less
