He had a head of silver hair, a human body, and a serpent’s tail. His gray eyes were filled with confusion.

“Y-You’re not… running?”

“Wh-Why?”

I lay sprawled on the ground, without even the strength to resist, and let his enormous snake tail coil around me.

In the darkness, I heard the rasp of scales sliding over stone, the sound of breathing, and the thud, thud of a heartbeat.
