The 3 stars is mainly for the translator. It really needs more editing, as pronouns keep changing and sentences are barely on the edge of making sense.

To be fair, the story isn't that great either - about a girl adamant about following her perceived idea of a reincarnated villainess in a story, even when the world does not allow her to. She's s*upidly clueless and comes across as self-centered rather than cute. Not really endearing, just obnoxious and dumb.

The translator did the best with what they could. This story just wasn't well written. The grammar is terrible and the characters aren't any better. If you're wondering about the premise, then here it is in a nutshell:

Spoiler

In her first life, the FL was so obsessed with villainess stories that she neglected to care for herself, leading her to die of starvation. She went to the afterlife and asked the deity to reincarnate her as a villainess. The deity thought she was incredibly s*upid. They outright refused to put her in a villainess storyline due to her s*upidity and single-mindedness but was willing to reincarnate her as a noble's daughter.

FL recalled herself at the age of 13 and immediately assumed she was in a villainess story, only to find that this wasn't the case as she didn't even have a fiance. She demanded that her father give her a fiance while spouting off delusional crap about how she was a reincarnated person so she must be a villainess. She demanded a handsome fiance who would be prone to ditching her in the future for a newfound true love and things to that extent. I would say that it was dialogue that you'd expect from a white lotus reincarnated heroine, except that those are usually far better written than this was.

Dad sets FL up with the ML, the handsome third son of a marquis. FL tries saying the same garbage to him, including the line "I'll never love you". He essentially just goes "Sure baby, whatever you want". FL is frustrated that he's showing her affection instead of being the stereotypical cold fiance of a villainess. She's also upset that she wasn't given any cheat abilities when she reincarnated. FL tries to do the typical things seen in villainess stories, such as study, cook, swordfight, and so on but fails at all of them. She's basically just a delusional, s*upid idiot with a pretty face.

Cut forward to the present day, the FL is upset that the heroine hasn't shown up. She keeps insisting that this person will show up and that the ML will fall for them, but it never happens. FL also never shows any actual redeeming value as a person, yet the ML is super infatuated to the point where he has this "goofy, innocent love" type of persona. The story ends with the FL and ML getting married; the FL has to be forced into her wedding dress. The ML then drops his goofy persona to reveal a more cunning one. Apparently, he did this to keep the FL around, although the reasons for this are a little muddled. It ends up that the reason he fell for her was because she pulled the "I'll never love you" line, which his sisters insisted was a sign that love was sure to bloom. Supposedly whenever this line was said in engagements, the pair would always fall in love by the time they married. FL gives in to marriage, as she now assumes that she'll become a divorced villainess. (IE, that he'll find love after they marry and she'll be the evil, interfering wife.)

If that synopsis sounds interesting, well... parts of it sound interesting in theory but are just poorly executed. I applaud the author for writing, as everyone needs to start somewhere, but this was just pretty bad. <<less
