It's pretty cute. The story manages to distill about 3/4 of all Japanese. "I was expelled from my party etc" stories down into 5 chapters and does so in a comical way. There was nothing I didn't see coming but it was still done well enough that I got a good laugh even Tch Thched a couple of times at the antagonists.

Bottom Line: I certainly feel reading it was a good use of my time.

Short, sweet and doesn't overstay its welcome. Only improvement I could think of would be if Kirie pulled an "here let sempai show you how" to Reg to get him over his rank bottleneck and feelings of inadequacy in the same way Reg did to Alfred at the start, building on the theme of working together and not just ditching comrades nilly-willy, but seeing Reg overcome it this way wasn't bad either.
