Crow was about to graduate from the Royal Military Academy.
One day, he heard a voice from the Saintly Sword that could only be wielded by the chosen Hero——

The Holy Sword── Excalibur spoke to him!
The voice came from Holly, the Sprite of the Holy Sword.

The Demon King that wanted to destroy the world would be reviving soon, so they had to find the Hero quickly, and hand the Holy sword to the Hero.

Crow thought that delivering the sword to the Hero was a simple task, and will allow him to receive the merit of finding the messiah. He agreed readily, and went on a journey to find the Hero.

However, when the problem child Crow partnered with Holly who had a horrible personality, their journey was filled with disasters! And the Hero they found was actually a s*ave girl—?

How were they going to bring her back…?

“Why don’t you use me to cleave the master of that kid in half?”

I like unwilling heroes and this story does it great.

I like scummy protagonists that aren't evil and this story does it great.

I like lolis having an unreasonable amount of affection for MC and this story does it great

Well... That was pretty disappointing... Expected honestly more. Hero isn't smart or scummy at all! He is just a weak guy with lame excuses happened to hear oh "holy" sword which I would have thrown away if I was MC....

Anyway, lets talk about translation and plot which will be in spoiler, due to obvious reasons

Translation is bad.... Or it's editing is bad idkn, but at the start of 2nd volume, I can constantly see some mistakes in translations which makes me confused. They even didnt properly write name of hero... more>> sometimes! Which they changed from Shawn (Skythewood) to Shion

Story? Well If you like goody two shoes MC, which NOT scummy as title says.... Then it might be ok for you to read. But....

MC just endure insults from a f*cking sword, to which he dont even try to retort. Hell... Without him, she literally cant do ANYTHING. Also... Dude just let off assassin with saintly sword while everyone wanted to kill her... He cares only about her being A GIRL, little girl but still... He even himself admits that he wouldn't have complained to kill her if that was a burly guy. I wouldnt have entrust future of the world in hands of such guy who have weakness for girls.

There is a lot of complaints in spoilers so if you dont want your eyes to rot.... Just skip it. I will say that MC is just spineless guy, which got great because he followed holy sword words. <<less

I'm guilty of reading so many stories just based on premise alone and this one is no different. This first volume mainly set the stage for the hi-jinks. MC is a regular dude, with a special exception of being able to see the holy sword spirit. So, he is tasked with the secret mission of finding the new hero, who happens to be a s*ave girl (Onii-chan vibes already in vol. 1). Rounding up the harem is a classmate, teacher, and the holy spirit herself.

I thought it was a fun... more>> short read, even if vol. 2 never gets picked up. <<less

I think it's a fun read at best but very poorly written and the reasons for plot/things happening are often because of the writers interference. Which makes things feel unatrual.

I have really enjoyed this story so far. The character feels refreshingly different from most fantasy novels. If I had to make a comparison, he feels similar to Subaru from Re:Zero though there are some major differences. The writing is really well done, the way the teasing for the main character's development is written is interesting to read.

For example I feel like the story so far is hinting at Crow being the Demon King that will awaken in five years. (This is only speculation.)

The MC isn't scummy nor a hero. He is just a hopeless and lazy boy with no skill. His fighting capability is low and has no special skill or anything like that. He tried to make a quick success but it turned into a disaster. Things end well in the end but it only reminds him of how powerless he is. The only good thing about him is that he's willing to sacrifice himself for what he thinks is the right way.

Story is both fresh interesting. Both characters and the world feel alive. Author also always points on some issues with how sainty swords are used, so you can see that there are some other undiscovered secrets.

However, I think author run out of ideas by the end of volume 3. He just starts destroying world he build

For some reason kingdom lost almost all sainty swords. Even though they are afraid of their wielders

Holly who should know the most about sainty swords is constantly surprised by dudes who randomly do things swords aren't supposed to do. Like using two failed swords or that sound sword controls air.

Then he starts adding random sh*t like vacuum slicing fire. Vacuum is an absence of matter. Usually gas. So to get vacuum where fire is - you need to control fire to remove it. But for some reason it's done dude controlling sound

Or that lightning sword which controls lightning randomly starts following law of physics. And you know which law? Author thinks that lightning current would go through the path with lowest resistance... Vacuum instead of air. Yes he thinks vacuum has lower resistance than air. In the first place if lightning of the sword was following laws of physics it would always go through the user of the sword
