I'm not sure what BriGuy has been reading, but it sure as sh*t wasn't this. I dropped this in the early chapters for exactly the reasons the second reviewer mentioned, but decided to pick it back up since BriGuy said that the collapsing star was actually starting to grow and obtain awareness, but holy shit that couldn't be further from the truth.

I toughed it out from where I dropped it, and from there all the way to the current chapter 54, I saw absolutely zero signs of character development. All... more>> throughout, Yuito was the same "my brother is superior, woe is me" infuriating attitude. Blushing furiously whenever something even vaguely s*xual in nature is so much as mentioned and adamantly denying anything positive being directed his way. I personally believe that some middle ground between the brothers' character traits is desirable, but I'd much rather read this story with Ayato as the main character, and for him to win. At least he actually knows what he wants, and isn't such a whiny little bit*h baby about literally everything.

I definitely won't be picking this back up again, even if it becomes a legitimate award winner. Lastly, BriGuy, get your eyes checked dude. <<less

Yet another title where early readers jump to a "dense protagonist" conclusion that simply continuing to read would dispel.

This is a story about a young man who's grown up with an understanding of the world around him that's a bit inaccurate, in no small part due to feelings of loneliness and inadequacy -- the latter due to comparing himself with his older twin only in ways he's inferior and never seeing the ways in which he surpasses him, the former due to an unrequited love for his childhood friend and... more>> the teasing he endures because of it from her slightly older sister.

Until the day that onee-san finally tells him that she's not just teasing. That she loves him. That he's a better person than his brother and a much better man.

From there, we follow him as he reassesses everything he believes, lets go of his childish understanding, gradually releases his hold on the things he can't have and grows to cherish the things he can.

It's not an immediate process. It can be frustrating to watch. At times, even the character himself notes where he should be changing even faster. It's tough to let go. That the story fully acknowledges all this is what makes it compelling.

Kano (Older Sis) persistently hangs out with him and drags him around. The MC thinks of it as "friends hanging out", when Kano is clearly taking him out on dates (Hotel room with 1 bed, Vacation, etc.).

Also, most of it is just interactions between the MC and Kano, so you won't see much of Suzuno. I don't even remember if it mentions why the MC loves her (if it even mentions it at all). So you'll probably end up rooting for Kano.

Also, the Yandere Vibes I'm getting from Kano isn't insane as other Yanderes. Maybe it's because I'm desensitized to Yanderes from other novels. But Kano is pretty tame; she doesn't aggressively manipulate things around to make the MC like her. She actually puts in work to improve her relationship with the MC, despite being a Yandere.

Kano takes the MC's phone and deletes all female contacts, which she never mentions why (The MC is SUPER dense for not knowing why she did this LMFAO). While also installing an invisible app that tracks what he searches up, his location, etc. All of which is pretty standard Yandere 101.

But there is never a circumstance where Kano shows / leaks this side of her to the MC (never sexually harassing the MC, never tells him to stay away from women, etc.). She only makes frequent suggestive jokes and stays true to her role of an Older Sister.
While only harboring a deep jealousy towards her younger sister for being the MC's crush, but never taking it too far (such as never hurting her, never ignoring her, no thoughts of wanting to kill her, etc.).

As stated by others, MC is super dense. So if you want fluff and romance, wouldnt recommend reading this one. MC has extreme inferiority complex and always glazes his older brother every opportunity he can. Any advances made by the fMC are brushed off and MC constantly thinks she should be with his older brother. Author will milk this for many chps.
