In the near future when VRMMO games become commonplace, the main character is suddenly transferred to a world similar to the game he was playing.

The game was of the genre “Nation Strategy Simulation Game”, and it was based on the concept of a human king leading a demon nation.

NPC demons who had suddenly gained an ego.

They had tremendous strength and paid no heed to the grave threat a whole different world posed.

However, on the other hand, the main character they followed was the “weakest king” who had no fighting power.

This is a story about the weakest hero who can’t even beat goblins, leading the demons as the dictator of military power in another world…

It's really entertaining, and I enjoyed every moment of it. However it ends just as it feels like it's ramping up to something bigger. The ending is clearly written as though more was on the way, but as it's completed none will ever come.

I’ve been looking for works similiar to overlord, where instead of MCs being isekai’d its an entire nation that got isekai’d. This one is a 4/5 stars for me, the exposition really bogs it down, like... I’m NOT reading your story for your specs and explanation of your Full-Dive VRMMORGPVP Device! I mean, it’s interesting, but, sooo mannny novels do this already! Explaining it over and over, they might as well be the same thing!

I’ve come here for one thing, and one thing alone in these types of stories.

A story... more>> about peoples, not just the MC. The actions they take, the reactions that permeate the world they (the isekai’d community) found themselves in and how they change them. Not how many enemies the MC killed, not how many harem dolls he can pick up, not how oVeRpOwErEd his stas are.

Nihonkoku Shoukan tried this... but then the civilization area plot kinda made it... Eh...

Gate: Jieitai Kanochi nite, Kaku Tatakaeri also tried... but then it turned into just power fantasy for the nation, the modern vs ancient military was cool, but the other aspects were just... 😑

Man oh man, do I wish there was an JP Novel style that followed 1632.

It was about a West virg*nia town from the 2000s that got transported into... you guessed it, the Thirty Years’ War.

It features culture clash, where 21st century Americans try to understand 17th century Germans, Swedes, and other Europeans and vice-versa. The downtimers (the 17th century people) mistaking the isekai’d town’s women as some kind of prostit**es because they were wearing shortskirts, jeans, and modern fashion, being amazed at the taste of ice-cream during the town’s 4th of July parade or the Americans meeting historical figures like Gustavus Adolphus (Father of Modern Warfare, and King of the Swedish Empire), in later books they got to meet famous painters like Rembrandt, Peter Paul Rubens, heck there was even an entire plot point about a shotgun-wielding american chad leading the charge to save Galileo in Italy.

The tag for Technological Gap would be extremely fitting for this story, as pike and shot armies got gunned downed by armoured coal trucks, a prison breakout that involves blowing up the tower of london and the ampitheatre (making a feminist history teacher screech at her students at doing so), 17th century Paris being divebombed by propeller planes, and a single motor boat defeating the Danish Navy of King Christian IV (with the sacrafice of a rescued german boy doing a kamikaze on one ship). There are also more mundane aspects, like a failed painter watching a disney movie, inspiring him to take on animations, a merchant’s daughter seeing a plane fly, and becoming determined to make Europe’s first airliner in the 1600s, or an austrian prince fell in love with american sports cars and made a racing track called the Vienna 500.

I want that type of deal... heck it could be more than just a town. It could be a prison (Time Spike), or a ship (The Alexander Inheritance) !

But eh, this is good enough I guess. :p <<less

This novel is just complete copy paste from Overlord? I haven't read too far yet but every events and plot points are very similar to what happened in Overlord and from what I see from spoilers, it's just rewriting Overlord with human MC and slightly different cast. The writing is a down grade though

Yep, I'm confused too. What is this novel even?

3.5/5

The writing style is pretty bad. What can I say? Half of the chapters are full of filler. The same things will be told twice or thrice in different forms. The plot is still OK, kind of like Overlord, but this time MC is in the lead and not his subordinates. The author did smash himself in the foot by ... more>>

building up the hype of a certain loli death. The MC went crazy, did a s*upid act, and waste a national treasure on him that can't reobtain anymore. Suddenly the MC remembers he could just revive her with the game system... like WTH? Few previous chapters suddenly become meaningless.

[collapse]

Edit: The plot is decent and interesting enough even though the real main objective hasn't been revealed yet. The writing is confirmed to be very crapy, with long-winded filler, repeated explanations, and a third-person point of view on top of the first person. It is just a wall of unnecessary texts which also dampens battle scenes. <<less

Still early, but thought to say a few words. Will update as new chapters release.

The translation is quite decent, even though awkward phrases appear here and there.

Storywise, unsurprisingly it starts similar to Overlord, but the MC is a weak human, not an overpowered skeleton.

... more>> Only his feamle dog eared second in command was introduced for now, but I'm going to guess 70% of the unit commanders under his command will be women that are in love with him. I hope it won't be inane and rage inducing as is too common.

Supposedly the original game was a strategy nation building simulator, so I'm hoping we will have large scale battles. <<less
