[Male lead chasing wife to the crematorium ✚ Male second takes over]

Yusheng was the heir to a centuries-old prominent family. His secret wife was an unremarkable hand model.

When his wife wanted a divorce, he readily agreed.

Chatting idly with friends over drinks, he said, “I’m just grinding down her temper. After some time, she’ll come back on her own.”

Later, eyes bloodshot from drunkenness, he begged her to remarry him. But on the other end of the phone was another man: “My wife just went out to buy deer antlers for me. Did Master Yu need something? I can pass along a message.”

That day, Yusheng nearly died from those words.

His wife’s seven years of love were stolen by Yusheng. No matter – if he could steal it once, he could snatch it back again.

He turned around and took over leadership of the Yu family in a high-profile move, armed with tremendous power and authority. Grabbing the man’s collar, he said, “Either give her up or die. No one can oppose the Yu family.”

The man laughed softly, answering with just four words: “The insignificant Yu family…”

Crematorium male lead: Yusheng

Usurping male second lead: Lu YanMing

I picked up this book and read the original raws, because I was super bored on a crazy long flight (yep, flights have Wi-Fi up there!). The absolute ridiculousness of the story was amusing at times but got old very quickly.

I'm not sure if the author was going for a cleverly sarcastic dark comedy vibe or if it's just another one of those badly written pieces. The whole point of the book seems to be like, "Hey, let's not communicate and just create never-ending problems for ourselves." Classic move, right?... more>> They've thrown in every possible clich

you can think of, except maybe the good ol' white van (although I couldn't continue after after dragging myself through 200 chapters hoping it would get better).

There is potential hidden in there for a great story, alas it falls flat. You have an airhead female lead who is naive, silly and thinks not communicating is always the right way. You have her ex husband who is mentally unstable and abusive and then you have the new husband who is supposed to be a contrast by being super sweet and kind. The story has all the common tropes.
    • she's an illegitimate daughter, who was treated terribly by her family
    • Wicked stepmother and step sister as well as a calculating father
    • She had a Loving grandfather who protected her
    • She eventually married the man she loved and pursued fiercely although he was kinda cold towards her advances
    • She thinks he saved her when they were at university therefore she puts up with his behavior
    • The person that actually saved her was her second husband
    • Both her ex and her new husband are from super powerful families
    • Both marriages were hidden from everyone
    • You have a secret contractual agreement which involves her having to become pregnant within a year
    • foolish face slapping
    • constantly being saved by the male leads
    • Running away and being chased by her new husband
This book should be called "immature relationships and red flags".

Read it if you want a laugh, leave your brain at the door. <<less

Novel seemed right up my alley with the plot summary. However, this female lead is wayyy too dense for me. Like I understand the situation not wanting to tell family her divorce since she was never respected but she's giving mixed feelings to her ex-husband and using the second male lead at this point. I couldn't see any character development or growth beside a sudden realization that her ex husband was a scumbag. The story was too dragged out might have been better for 100 chapters. The villain female lead... more>> is terrible being her old college roommate to get along. Like why does she need such a mask around so many people she dislikes especially since she divorced the ex-husband. I couldn't finish it. I think if you like super slow romance you can give this a shot but this was too slow for me. <<less
