Review: Set in the same universe as Doppio Senso (another novel by the same author), our main characters come from two different worlds and clash like oil and water. I feel that this novel is VERY similar in tone to Doppio Senso, so if you enjoyed that novel, I think you'll enjoy this one! The novel goes back and forth between the present and the past, and the puzzle pieces slowly come together to form a whole picture.

The love between the two characters is just as explosive as the plot. The ML is very cold, and his words pierce deep. I can see some readers being very turned off by his cruelty. However, the FL can see through this, and she always manages to brush it off because she knows how disconnected his words are from what he truly feels in his heart. Again, there are very dark, criminal themes running throughout the novel, so please skip this novel if you do not have the stomach for them. <<less

Not sure why the rating is low, but I'm rating it a solid 5/5. The storytelling has been similar to the previous novels of the author, and it was gripping from start to finish. For this author's stories, you come for the smut but stay for the plot. This was no different. I surprisingly liked the gruff, rough ML (even though I like doting MLs more lol). Short, gripping story that's definitely worth the few hours to read it.

not my favorite from this author, but still a solid read overall. I love that no matter how angsty the story gets, it always delivers a happy ending. And, of course, the smut? Insanely hot. I’ve said it before—what keeps me coming back to this author’s books is the way she writes her smut. It’s just that good. Top tier.

Also, kudos to the translator for an amazing job. The translation was smooth and really brought the story to life. It’s a 4-star read for me, but I’m bumping it up... more>> to 5 stars purely for the translation <<less

So glad I found this series after DS. Honestly it's short but thrilling with all the smut. After reading the other novel by same author (DS), I had some expectations of this novel and I'm glad it didn't disappoint me at all. To be honest this one went beyond my expectations and I like this one more than doppio.

The Love between them is so intensive and explosive. I so liked their past love story when they were high school students which is kind of cute sometimes and intense some other times. I liked the FL and ML characters although ML comes as a s*umbag in the initial chapters but we get to read ML's POV which explains his cold and indifferent behaviour. The smut is great but the writing and plot is even better for me although it's cliché sometimes. I'm a huge sucker for the obsessive yandere ML's and this one is one such ML. We get to glimpse his twisted desire through his POV and I love it. FL I would say also has strong character and good head on her. Not necessarily OP and Mary sue type. Every time the ML puts on the defense walls around him, FL sees right through him I would say she understands him better than he himself did. ML is so devoted to her and does everything in background solely for her. Although FL comes off as pathetic sometimes which cannot see others suffering and is only absorbed in her self misery and pity, I can forgive her for her efforts in the later chapter of the story. The drama was sometimes unnecessary but I'm not complaining.

All in all I really enjoyed this read with all the smut and tension between the main characters. Short story with good writing and plot which will hook you throughout. <<less

LET ME TELL YOU HOW PERFECT THIS STORY ISSSSS 😭😭😭❤️❤️❤️

The author knoowwwss how to build tension, build background story to HIGHTEN all the feels and emotions. The characters in this story are SO ALIVE. Their pain, their sorrow, their joy, their guilt... From the first word to the extra chapter. Thank you for the beauutiful translation, AnonAnemone!!!!

I have always been a sucker for a young unfinished love meeting again in adulthood. My obsession with Our Beloved Summer a testament to that. And this novel, Jiwon and Seokju, in only 11... more>> chapters, wrenched my gut, captivated me with their complex history, how they hurt eachother, how the find their way back.

If you're looking for a story with characters that's written with soooo much care and so much dimension, THIS IS FOR YOU. I SWEAR.

ALSO, the author writes the best intimate scenes ever 😭 The way they write the emotions, the act, ADDED WITH the witty banter in between. Strong female character who knows what they feel and what they want. Strong male characters who learns how to be vulnerable. AAAAAAAAA READ THIS Y'ALL

And this was so worth it because then they had THE HOTTEST MAKE UP s*x EVERRRR!! I swear that was the hottest eye contact I've ever read in my life. author-nim I love you

Great Novel, another great one from Kimpa its at least a 4.5 /5

ML was great even though he was cold at first. FL too was pretty good

Thankfully we have a happy ending

i didn't like that huge time skip.. 10 years is a huge time skip in my opinion, author could choose 5-6 years time skip and it will work fine with the story...

though at least both didnt have any new relationships during the time skip FL did some blind dates after pressure but didn't sleep with anyone, and ML never looked another woman.

What can I say, this is a well written novel. Even if it has a few chapters it were all packed with smuts, actions, mysteries, tragedies and fluffs. I can't nitpicked the time-jumped as it woven intricately with the pace of the story.

The ending was very heart warming and will make you realize that family is not about being blood-related but accepting for who you are-your past, present and will help you create your future.

This reminded me again that even if the world turns it back on you as long... more>> as there is one person even if its only their memories will always give you a reason to keep on going.

Through out the novel it touched about how traumas came in different shape and form. And how our MC's overcame it and move forward. I especially liked it how the author used rain as a backdrop of reflection for the characters deeper and complex emotions. It was kind of poetic if you think it thoroughly.

This author really loved dark romance as it were presented from their other works which were well written too. Aside from their novels their manhwas were top tier in terms of art aside from their famous Doppio Senso:
