Jiang Hao transmigrated and was born into an ordinary household. His family was forced to sell him off into a demonic sect and he became a disciple.

He planned to cultivate, gradually become stronger, and live a peaceful life in the cultivation world. However, he was humiliated constantly by a demoness.

The difference in their abilities was astronomical. He had no choice but to endure the humiliation, hoping that he never would have to encounter her again.

He, who had no backing, caught the eye of the leader of the sect and finally could cultivate in peace. When he became the head disciple and met with the sect leader, he was stunned.

As he looked at the other party’s beautiful face, he was stunned. Wasn’t this person the demoness from before?

“My dual cultivation partner is actually the sect’s patriarch?! ”

”Should I tell her that everyone in this sect is a spy?“

Don't Toy With Me Miss Nagatoro: The Xianxia

Spoiler

The female lead is a tsundere and the male is, by xianxia novel standards, a beta male. Always keeps his head down, avoiding conflict to the point that everyone in the sect viewed him as a coward and pushover, though occasionally he would get his revenge by killing his enemies in secret.

Even though he always tried to be low-key, the MC always gets into trouble for no apparent reason. Example, early on he killed a female spy from another sect because she was targeting him, weirdly enough he not only became the target of the rival sect, but also fellow students (who have a crush on the spy) and a big shot (who wants to make the spy his cauldron), so the MC invited aggro not only from the enemy but also from his teammates, and the more boggling thing is, not only did NOT he get rewards for killing a spy, he got punished and suspected, PLUS he got blackmailed and forced to pay compensation... FOR KILLING A SPY FROM RIVAL SECT!! WHAT THE f*ck KIND OF SHITTY SECT IS THIS?!

This set the tone for the whole novel where the MC got pushed around by everybody into a corner, plus he's poor as f*ck and has to scr*pe by. He often said that the reason he's often targeted and has no resources is because he's not a top student, if only he's a true disciple he would have been protected by the sect AND received resources. Here's the thing... this s*upid f*ck HIDES his strength and talent because he's afraid of being targeted and draw too much attention. Newsflash DUmbf*ck, you're already being targeted by everyone and bullied even by his sect juniors, AND repeatedly drew attention anyway, so what's the point of hiding your strength? Isn't showing your talent get protected and receive resources so you can get strong faster better than hiding your strength, not being appreciated/protected, being poor as f*ck when both scenarios would have him being targeted anyway? Why hide? What kind of a logic is that?

Furthermore, the "drawing too much attention" part is bollocks anyway. His full strength is actually mid even among the students his generation. At least early on there are many students who are stronger than him. He's mid but pretended to be at the bottom of the barrel, which invites disgust from his fellow students and even his teacher, but even at full strength he's barely among the top student there. Those top students seem just fine, they receive more resources and less trouble/hassle, plus no one viewed them as tr*sh and bully them, unlike the MC. So what's the point of hiding your strength?

The MC has cheat, but even the cheat is rather mid early on. He sometimes receive random attributes, but honestly, the MC struggle to win even against someone with the same realm. Forget about fighting across realm.

All in all, if you like a low key MC who got pushed around and despised by everybody (including the female lead) and hiding his strength for no apparent reason, then this one is for you.

As far as cultivation novels go this one is great, has allot of comedy especially the beast and xio li's dynamic.

Exirn is somewhat correct that the romance isn't overt enough for most to notice however it's there between the lines, the demoness hints at it with every other meeting the MC just hasn't reached the cultivation level for it to come to fruition yet.

I would've given it a 5 but entire paragraphs are just plain missing every few chapters and sometimes it'll have have paragraphs where the words are just... more>> scrambled as If someone forgot how to keyboard.

However reading this novel I binge read all 800 chapters currently out without stopping so it's a really good cultivation novel.

Tldr: 5 stars if there weren't so many missing paragraphs every few chapters, the romance is long game and Will probably come to fruition in the final chapters, it's there you just have to be able to see it <<less

This is a great low-key xianxia story.

First, to dispel the rumors, there's no r**e of any of the characters. This isn't a spoiler since it all happens in the first 5 chapters of the series, but MC has a system where he can see bubbles near high-level objects such as inmortal herbs and treasures. He can absorb different colored bubbles by going near them and others don't see these bubbles. For plants, he only gets bubbles when he waters them himself and is able to grow really high level plants... more>> that can't be grown even by immortals just by watering them.

As for the FMC, she's really strong and she's roughly around 6 whole realms above the strongest person in the sect. These aren't starting realms either but very late realms. She's so strong that it feels like she shouldn't be the sect master of such a low-level devil sect. Anyway, she gets ambushed by multiple of the so-called righteous sect masters who are on the same level as her and they pay a heavy price to defeat her. During the battle, one of the sect masters is able to successfully poison her with dragon blood/aphrodisiac but FMC is able to escape back to her sect, only to see MC going about his business. The poison in her body acts up and she has her way with MC and since FMC is massively stronger than MC, he isn't able to escape and they end up doing it. In the morning, she leaves after pushing a pill in MC's mouth which he later believes to have made him not have any feelings towards even very beautiful fairies, all except FMC ofc. Also, she's so strong that the system fails to ID her, which is also one of it's functions. MC still doesn't know that she's the sect master of his sect and is only able to know that her name is Hong Yue through the system.

Later, she visits him again but they maintain a senior-junior relationship. Hong Yue gives him a immortal seed to grow which will help her heal from her injuries just to tease him, knowing that nobody in that continent can grow that plant. To her surprise, MC is able to make it sprout in a few months by just watering it regularly. She keeps all of her emotions hidden and MC is too scared of her strength and cultivation to even look at her in an improper way, let alone suggest doing it again. They maintain their senior-junior relationship and Hong Yue tells him to do some important tasks for her, things that she doesn't trust anyone else in the sect to do since she had gotten ambushed before. MC ofc has no idea that she's the sect master and doesn't have a problem with doing her tasks since she gives him very high level cultivation techniques in return.

It's a very slow-burn romance from there where neither of them tell each other how they feel and maintain their previous senior-junior relationship. MC quickly becomes strong because of the system by growing Hong Yue's flower which gives him bubbles and improves his cultivation further. He keeps his real cultivation hidden from everyone though and continues to act subservient to his senior brothers and sisters of the sect without slipping up. Only Hong Yue has an idea about his realm but she doesn't care much. The pacing is done well and MC doesn't feel like a meat bag being carried to immortality by the system either. In fact, the system starts becoming less useful as he becomes stronger and he has to gain enlightenment himself without depending on the system for breakthroughs. Hong Yue also keeps sending him really high-level treasures in the name of the sect master, but since MC thinks that Hong Yue and the sect master are different people, he believes that the sect master has seen through him hiding his cultivation level and is secretly trying to raise him as a core disciple of the sect instead.

Spoiler

Hong Yue also saves MC's life a couple of times from really strong enemies even at the risk of injuring her already damaged soul.

The rest of the side-characters are also well-written and there are no young masters as well. The interactions of MC and Hong Yue, although rare, are a joy to read.

Needless to say this is definitely worth checking out. <<less

The guy gets r*ped by this jade beauty who is one of the strongest beings in the world. She then forces him to eat a pill that gives him ED except against her. Occasionally she gives him some stuff that helps him out but most of the time she basically forces him to spend insane amounts of money buying high quality tea to serve her. Almost 800 chapters in and their relationship is still the same, with no sign of romance in sight.

This basically feels like those sign in novels... more>> except there's no sign in. The MC likes to be lowkey but somehow gets dragged into random trouble. Honestly the novel is pretty bad but I still like reading it after turning off my brain. <<less

I couldn't get pas the first 20 chapters this is too ridiculous. It's one of those MC who got isekai'd in a cultivation world with a system and who wants to lay low. I like this trend but only when it's well executed. Meaning MC is strong and finds ingenuous ways to get rid of people and reach his goal. Also MC need to have a clear objective. If he just sits in a cave cultivating for thousands of years just for the sake of being the strongest then it's... more>> all for naught. that's why I like revenge stories more, at least there is some kind of defined goal. but I digress. So why did I drop it so early you wonder? Well...

Spoiler

In the very first chapter there is a r**e. Anything involving SA in the first 10 chapters of a story for absolutely no reason is a no go for me. I know many Chinese authors love to put it in their story but so far in my reading journey of hundreds of novels it was in maybe 10% of them and it was just one scene or two in the whole novel. But if I see it from the get go then I'm already biased towards dropping it. It serves absolutely no purpose.

The second thing is the ridiculousness of the story. Turns out MC's r**ist is the sect master described as a jade beauty blablabla you already know the drill. She came out of seclusion and found out that her sect had been infiltrated by spies. oh yeah it's supposedly a "Devil faction" sect and the spies are from the Immortal Sects aka righteous. Do you know how many spies have been found in just these few first chapters, dozens. How am I supposed to believe that righteous sects sent dozens if not more of their own cherished disciple because we have trues disciple, saintess, etc. come to this sect and nobody noticed anything for 60 years until the sect master came out of seclusion? As if it wasn't enough MC killed a spy and he is punished for it? And the justification is it's a devil sect. What kind of nonsense is that? Especially when it's been told that that sect take spying very seriously. What a way to contradict yourself author. Added to that MC is then clearly bullied and used by the sect master and frankly anybody with a bit of power. I don't find it enjoyable no matter how strong he is if he has to act dismissive and weak.
