His current goal is to keep his actual cultivation level a secret, remain a low-key Kunlun disciple and stay out of harm’s way until he is strong enough to take on any obstacles.

This is actually one of the best novels that Webnovel has ever translated. I know, it's easy to say when everything else they pick up is tr*sh, but this one was an actual good choice. I shouldn't have even found this a good read, I mean it is a sign in novel where MC hides his ability, and that is normally sketchy territory for a series. It actually works here though, and his sign in system doesn't automatically make him the strongest there is either.

If you are still hesitating let... more>> me tell you this, there is no harem. Only 1 wife. Plus she's got an adorable personality. This, for me, was the biggest selling point. I had just finished Ferocious Taoist Couple when I found this and I was very pleased I had somehow found another cultivation story that has romance and yet only has one girl. I suspect you all understand how rare these seem to be. <<less

For starters, I should say that the title alone should make it obvious that this is a slow paced story. If you expect the MC to go on lots of adventures, you are in the wrong place.

The MC starts off rather dull as he really wants nothing more than to just cultivate, with the hopes of reaching a level were he can feel safe in a cultivation world. He only really starts to change after the engagement. He is still pretty cold on the outside, but his thoughts often end... more>> up going in a rather strange and funny ways. Like when someone asks how many kids they would want, he just starts thinking about whether the baby would be born from a fetus or an egg (the FL is a dragon) instead of actually responding to the question. He also starts going from feeling the engagement will bring him trouble to proactively (though not openly) trying to make their relationship improve. The relationship also starts to become more and more a focus of the story a couple hundred chapters in, with many of the interactions being pretty cute considering both the MC and the FL (in the default form) are usually stoic.

There is also clearly an overarcing story going on. It's not explained in detail, as even most of the forces involved have no clue what they are even fighting for (which is honostly kind of funny), but the general outline can already be guessed a couple hundred chapters in.

Again, if you don't like stories with a slow pace, nor ones with stoic characters, stay away. Otherwise, the story keeps getting better, but not everyone will be invested enough to get to that point. <<less

Most average book ever. Nothing really happens and nothing is explained. There is no world building, no meaningful cahracter interactions and literally there is no plot. Also random disciples tr*sh talking behind Mc's back. Like, yeah he cannot do that, he is tr*sh.

MC comes out of training some random guys attack him for s*upidest of reasons. They are mostly claim traitors. I am surprised why not all of his clan is filled with traitors. The so called conspiracy is never explored nor are the world structure and the factions.

There was... more>> some dragon clan mentioned just to introduce the wife character. The relationship is so slow progression if you even call it that, you hardly notice is.

In summary, this is a book about nothing. No plot, no world building, no friends. Only some small interaction between MC and his engaged over 100s of chapters.

  1. Even clinche cultivation tr*sh like martial god Asura is better cause at least there is a plot.

This was a good novel to read. It’s only focus was cultivation, mc’s relationship and kunlun.

This was not a masterpiece but it was true to its story. I lovved every interaction of the characters especially the MC and his dragon Wife.
its a recommendation to read. It’s slow pace and does not shower you with unnecessary filler chapters or arcs.

A good novel for its genre. Slice-of-life tag seems suitable the novel is more or less about the life of the MC and people in the sect. The story is very chill so don't expect much suspense or thrilling fights. The MC is very cautious and shares some similarities with MC from 'My Senior Brother is Too Steady'. I'm half-sold on the FMC and the romance as the FMC is too ignorant and immature to my liking. The sign-in system could have been integrated better as well. Overall, a nice... more>> novel to read. Would recommend it. <<less

Super slow paced and very 'go with the flow'. Loved it and the ending that actually feels like it completely closes the story without being rushed.

Honest Review -

The plot building of the novel is slow but the ending was extremely rushed and dissatisfying.

The few things that were really vexing in this novel were:

    1. The system given to the MC is extremely useless since it's a sign-in system that requires MC to travel to different places. However the MC is a cautious and reclusive person who won't leave his sect no matter what and so throughout the novel spanning about 560+ chapters he only receives about 10 good rewards and half of them are one-time consumable pills. He also doesn't possess a variety of spells or a signature weapon.
    2. There are a lot of plot holes left undiscovered at the end because of the rushed ending.
    3. Some part of the story towards the end doesn't make any sense and is extremely confusing. Nothing is properly explained. The situation of various parties in the final battle and beyond is very difficult to understand even when read twice. Like-
      Spoiler

      1. How did MC finally end up as a sage and get the power to resurrect others? 2. What is the purpose of the vegetative egg & flower and why did they only appear conscious for like 2 chapters? 3. What's the real purpose of the youth at the inn? 4. How did the enemity between MC and a certain race of emotionless humans dissapear? 5. What happened to treefront village ? etc...

      [collapse]
    4. Spoiler

The end reveal of the MC's true cultivation level to the whole world didn't feel satisfying enough as half of the MC's friends were dead by then in the final battle. Also, even though I was happy when MC received a special egg from his master, the end result of what hatched from it and when is hatched (at the end of the story) spoiled evey bit of excitement I had for it.

      [collapse]
    5. English translation quality of the last 50 or so chapters is really bad.
However there are some good points to this novel:

    1. The MC is quite badass when he silently takes down of his enemies who underestimate him (which happens often as his true cultivation level is always hidden). The one liners during those scenes are pure gold and so are the scenes of him revealing his identity to people he one-shots.
    2. The humor in this novel is quite good and so is the translation for the first 500 chapters.
    3. Romance between the MC and the female lead is one of the best compared to all others novels of this type. Both are awkward at first and slowly builds up their relationship that blossoms into something beautiful.
My recommendation: Read upto about 520 chapters and then stop at that point if you don't want to experience a dissatisfying end.

Really enjoyed this novel. At first I was under the impression that it was a lot like “My Senior Brother Is Too Steady”, and while in some ways it is, I also find this novel to be a lot better just in terms of characterization and overall entertainment. The pacing was good and never did the story feel like it was being dragged on unnecessarily. Moreover, the last stretch of the novel was really good, much less the ending which was surprisingly well rounded, unlike the majority of novels out... more>> there and I truly felt satisfied.

If there’s one complaint I do have, it has to be in regards to the system of signing in. It hardly played any part in the novel and after the initial several or so dozen chapters it’s only mentioned in passing or on rare occasions. Felt that it had little impact, and while it did get explained in the end, I couldn’t really bother to care about it anymore.

Anyhow, I’d easily recommend this novel to anyone. <<less

this novel is very good, of the many that have been taken only a few are good and this is one of them, and also even though there is a plothole but it is neatly covered by the plot, and this one is one of the few CN romance novels where the FMC is not out of the sect or has a special body.

Honestly one of the best novel I've ever read. People might be turned off by how MC being too cautious but he's definitely not a coward. He accepted his responsibility and shouldered everything when its time for him to actually do it.

There's only around 4 chapters left now and I can't wait to see how it'll end.

Just a reminder that if you don't like slow paced novel, then this might not be for you.

Edit : There is a plot if you actually curious about this. Its also closely connected to... more>> the origin of his system. <<less

Gotta admit I am pretty disappointed with this one. It's not bad, but I was expecting better. The MC never really has to work hard or struggle for anything. All of his powers just conveniently fall into place and he gets whatever he needs at the last second for no reason whatsoever.

He also has no personality. Zero. Zilch. Nada. He's described as having an amazing "temperament" but really he just doesn't give a sh*t about anything or anyone but himself. And not in the fun way that we usually see... more>> in nihilistic characters. He's just boring. He'll let his sect-mates die because he doesn't want trouble and write it off as "well I don't really know them". Honestly his personality is just tr*sh. He's like a less intelligent wannabe "L". He's always one step ahead of his enemies (not because he's superior, but because plot).

And don't get me started on the action scenes. 50% of it is pretty much "He punched him into a blood mist." The rest is "He appeared behind the enemy because he moves too fast." There we go. That's all there is to the fight scenes. Over and over and over. It might get better later on, but 100 chapters of this was enough for me. <<less

It's a sign-in novel. MC is the type of guy who likes to cultivate peacefully and avoids attention because he believes that the more attention you get the greater the chances that you will offend someone. He has a good temperament. He doesn't care what the people thought of him. He prefers that the people thinks of him as a tra*h nobody or someone with just an average talent, in that way, the enemies would underestimate him and it will be much easier for him to kill.

Overall the novel is... more>> good. It's easy to follow. The cultivation system is neat. MC's inner monologue is funny. And the little romance is sweet and innocent. <<less

It's a good read. No deep plot. No elaborate story telling. Just simple narrative. MC has a system and wants to quietly cultivate in peace under his master's protection in a strong sect until he is invincible. I like that the MC here doesn't reach in 30 years the level that others take 3000 years to reach. He's very fast but only relatively speaking. His cultivation still takes centuries and he frequently enters seclusion for decades. He's his master's only disciple and usually doesn't bother with much other than his... more>> cultivation. He's very strong in his level and quietly neutralizes any threat to his safety. He remains low key and hides his true strength, waiting until he's invincible. He's calm, cool and quiet. No drama. The sweet romance between two innocent people just discovering new feelings is fun to read. <<less

It was good and fresh. Not the best out there but was never really disappointed like some "junior you dare" tr*sh novels. There are up and downs in the story. After a while it might be starting to drag too but everything was finished fine in the end. Even though they rushed the ending I really liked the epilogue after the end. It was wholesome. The major drawback of the story is it doesn't have any major plot as a whole. The romance was slow burn and really good. This... more>> novel stands tall only because of the characterisation of each character. Especially the female lead. The character development of the female lead was really good. And the romance was done really well. Thank goodness there is no harem. Loved the bromance of eight dragon prince and the youth. Although I didn't like the way they treated the qillin race woman even though it was treated as comedy it was not funny but really offensive. Other than that this was a good read. I was about to rate 3.5 but I do see lot of shitty tr*sh novels like against the gods have more rating Ill rate 4.0/5. It's more like 3.75 but uh... Whatever.. I finished the novel fully without discontinuing frustratingly and also got a good wholesome happy ending so. That's fine <<less

One of the best cultivation web novel I’ve read. Comparable to early Ze Tian Ji level, but ended way better.

Prose might not be comparable, but I couldn’t tell because the translation is poor. I hope they polished up at least the last 30 or so chapters because it honestly was such a good section, and the peak of this series.

I'm going to be honest, this novel is pretty good.

The world-building can't be called good or bad. They introduce various countries, but you don't really know anything about said countries, besides the powerhouses and different races that reside in them. It takes quite a while for the author to finally show the pinnacle of power of the various lands. However, when this is all said and done, the world feels extremely small.

As for the plot, well, it's pretty redundant. There are various plots against the main character and Kunlun (the... more>> sect where the main character resides) but they are rather silly, especially at the start. The story constantly amps up the power scaling of the main character and his enemies, but looking back at it now, most of the plots shouldn't of worked, especially based on how powerful Kunlun is, it just doesn't make much sense. Onto the redundant part, a lot of these schemes basically repeat over and over, with slight variations. For example, the Netherworld entrance is targeted repeatedly, with ever so slight differences on the enemies cultivation realm. The problem with this, is that this is a power fantasy novel, so the main character crushes them each time, thus making the plot dull.

The side characters. Y'know, the side characters aren't all that bad. They aren't exactly good either, I struggle to remember anything about the masters of the peaks in Kunlun, the peak powerhouses in other sects, etc. The only decent character is the main character's fiancée. Speaking of which, why is the novel named after his fiancée considering they get together hundreds of chapters into the novel, and getting married after over 300 chapters?

The main character. Not a whole lot to talk about. Bland, blank as a canvas, whatever you want to call him.

Overall, a decent novel. Very good at the beginning, however after the novelty wears off it honestly seems like the author is just repeating the plot. <<less

This is bad for my blood pressure. For around the first 200 chapters I rated this at 4 stars because it was actually not bad.

But now the MC is slowly turning into a vegetable.

Spoiler

You have to be kidding me. He says he wants to help his master find a wife and then he DOESN'T. He notices the place where his girlfriend is cultivating getting invaded by a strange dark energy and he urgently wants to investigate, so he DOES NOTHING. Did the author get brain damage inbetween writing?

[collapse]

It's not funny or calculating. Just dumb. Several paragraphs can be skipped at this point. I'm hoping that this garbage is just a short phase that'll end soon.... <<less

It's good but there are a some plot holes if you think about the story even a little. Also the MC hides his cultivation from people he trusts to the point that it's detrimental to him which doesn't make much sense. The FL has been saved by the MC a few times and she saw him do it every time, but for some reason doesn't know it was him?

The romance is good by Chinese romance standards, which is admittedly an extremely low bar. The MC and FMC spend a lot... more>> of time together and she isn't just a prop for the MC to rescue like in 95% of other cultivation novels, she has a personality and everything. Anyway, it's a fairly laid back cultivation WN with a pretty standard set of levels and enough action not to get boring. <<less

Lol! This is the best example of Bad description and worse title of a novel.

I mean the engagement mentioned in the description, happened around 200th chapter. Not the mention the millennium seclusion in title, it was during the last chapter in the novel.

Anyway the story is average slice of life story. Interactions b/w MC and FL is the cutest and best thing in the novel. Side characters are funny and good too.

If you hate romance, then don't bother picking it up.

Average novel. Just ignore the s*upid title.

It's basically a slice-of-life, romance novel in a XianXia setting. The plot isn't very deep, and the characters are pretty shallow. The narrative style feels pretty weak as well. Overall, it's just an average story, but at least it isn't bad.

3/5 Stars.
