As long as he found a potential target to invest in, he could receive a ten-fold return.
Completing random achievements, he could also receive various rewards.
“Potential stocks? Is there anyone more promising than Lian Qingxue?”
“I just wanted to invest, not looking for a girlfriend!”
…

So far this story has been a variation of the typical chinese system type novels, but to me it feels like a fresh take on the concept that I have found very enjoyable so far. The system rewards him for spending money on "investment" which occurs when he spends money on a girl in his class that will become very successful later in life. Although this concept can sound a bit iffy since it makes him sound a bit like a parasite taking advantage of her at least so far in the story it hasn't felt this way. Her future is the initial reason why he chooses to "invest" in her but after that point it feels more like a wish-fulfillment slice of life where we get scenes like him buying clothes for her since the system rewards him for spending money on her or other fluffy scenes. I have found this novel enjoyable so far since at least so far there is no drama or tension, just a relaxed romance novel. Generally to me this type of novel is built upon the world and the characters to keep the reader engaged since relaxed novels lack tension or other plot devices that make the reader want to keep going and at least so far this novel has kept me engaged with cute antics and some jokes that I found funny. I saw something on the translator site that this is currently a trial translation so I hope that it gets picked up and continued being translated. Chapter 61:
Currently this novel is starting to feel a bit off to me, which might just be due to it being highlighted a bit more but this novel starts with him going from 2021 to 2008 as a high schooler, so he is 13 years older than her. At first I honestly didn't think much about it and everything was innocent but the most recent chapter had him buy essentially cosplay outfits and had a few lines that have a s*xual implication which feels very wrong with how he is essentially a man in his late twenties going out with a high school girl. Idk, I might just be in a more sensitive mood where I'm just simply not able to read past it and ignore it but it just feels off if you think about it in the context of a full adult buying cosplay and a highschool girl wearing it because she doesn't want to let him down (or some line like this) which just feels very disgusting to read with that perspective. It especially bothers me because the author could of just simply made him not regress, you could of easily had a similar (if not better) story by having him suddenly obtain the system but have him be a selfish a**hole. Have him originally get with FL because she is poor and he would have an excuse to spend money on her and lead it to them falling in love, it would even add a bit of character development. The only reason why I can think it would be better to have the main character be 13 years older is because it allows for easy plot threads because of his "future knowledge" and that it creates a wish fulfillment where people that age can think about if they went back to their highschool days. Anyway, long rant to basically say that this book (and frankly quite a lot of stories in this circle) feel very off when it comes to the ages of characters. Chapter 61 in particular had a lot more of a s*xual implication than what was previously done in this story which set this off so if your able to overlook this type of thing then you might enjoy the story.
So, a few months later when I've stopped caring as much about the above I've caught up again. So from 61 to 84 (With me barely remembering what set off the chapter 61 review) the story was mostly wholesome but there was still one weird scene where he booked a hotel for them and got a room with only a single bed, knowing that she wouldn't waste (spend) money to book another room due to her personality. Going into that makes me dislike the main character for some pretty obvious reasons, but its also the length of like 2 paragraphs in the story so I can overlook it. The story has started going more into expanding their business, which is the part that I actually somewhat enjoy, with the dynamic of him trying to spend money because he will make more from spending it and her trying to not waste money and refusing. So overall there are still parts of this book that feel very disgusting to me, but its also pretty short text wise and something most people could/would overlook. The only reason I'm probably so fixated on it is just because it was so easily fixable by just not making the MC be a 30 year old man dating a 17 year old... I think it would even be a better dynamic than the current story with what I said before, have him start off as selfish teenager (not 30 year old man) and have him get with her simply because she is poor which makes me think she would be wasteful with money. Then make the system have a one person restriction so he can't change it and then have her act similar as she does now. Then we get the dynamic of her making the business succeed which he dislikes, but during this time you have character development and he goes from choosing her because she is poor to loving her. My overall point with this is that the reincarnation has very little to do with the actual story, and is instead feels like a pointless addition the author added. For example, in a recent chapter he buys a factory thats a bit overpriced and there is an inner monolog about it being land that will be worth a fortune, but thats not necessary for the plot. It literally added nothing to the story other than knowing it will be worth a lot in the future since it doesn't influence his decision in buying the place. I just really really think getting rid of this aspect would just remove all of the creepy aspects of this novel. (And to be honest I'm guessing the author doesn't even mean to add these parts... They probably aren't internalizing that they made a 30 year old character do advances on a high school girl since they barely use him being older for anything other than random tidbits of cheat information that do very little) Anyway, that concludes my update to this long rant of a review
Well... Just as I was starting to think it was a one off thing and that I was overreacting two chapters later this kind of creepy interaction happens again. Actually, in hindsight it was already bad a few chapters ago when he booked only a single hotel room at an expensive place knowing she is too frugal to get another room. Now, in this chapter its mentioned that their is a bath big enough for two people with a line like "The bathtub naturally collected dust and didn't fulfill its purpose in Qi Yun's mind." which implies that he wanted to get in the bath with her... Honestly this feels like it just keeps getting worse, If the author just kept it plutonic or at the very least made her be the initiator rather than continuing to have a 30 year old man make advances on a girl just out of high school. I think I'm giving up on this series... I like the system part and I think it had potential for some funny situations of one trying to spend money while the other resists but the way the author is developing their relationship just feels very gross.
