- If you enjoy a novel that was not too grotesque (what I mean is less killing or less fighting) this should be it, I guess. Most conflicts are usually dealt with either a battle of words or master teacher duel-whatever they're called. Of course, there would be a few that MC decides to kill or annihilate, but it was fewer compared to other novels. Again, this is up until 900+ chaps, not sure how it will go on in the future chapters.
- If you enjoy reading something funny, then I suggest you to read this. The author focuses on the comedy trope and I had a few good laughs as well.
- It focuses on cultivation. What I meant with cultivation, is that the MC progressed fast with his cultivation. Moreover, the novel focuses on learning and teaching, well because the MC is a teacher so that's a given I guess.
- A smart MC and cute students (a little bit mischievous but oh well). Their interactions are quite cute too.
- Fairly good translation as well, though I read it in a different site.
Cons:- Yes, like the other reviews said, it is repetitive.
- There are a LOT of times where the MC is very ignorant about basically everything, then after a few minutes, he'll suddenly comprehend things and everyone will be like 'Oh? It's just a few moments ago, that he knew nothing at all about blah blah blah' or 'What kind of monster he is?'. Though it seems like it was treated as a running joke. It was funny but it is tiring.
- If you like cultivation with a hint of romance, then this is definitely not your cup of tea.
- Overpowered MC, where his only rival is a clone of himself. Yes, currently, his clone is stronger than him. So... mega plot armor lol.
- There are too many insignificant characters that will show up for a few chapters. There are also many characters with the same surname, and tbh, its very hard to remember all of them. These characters are 'decorations' to make the MC shine more.
Anyway, despite it's cons, it's definitely one of the best Chinese cultivation novels out there. But of course, don't expect too much. It's quite good for a leisurely read, again, it's funny as heck so you'll probably enjoy it... more>>What starts as light and well, how to put it, simple; turns into a desperate savage of- "hey, is that a fly¿" *random#1532 started hesitating, after all, he's hesitating, let alone MC, hestitates* "ok then, let's humiliate, insult his efforts just to be gratified and get ours balls all scratched so pleasurably" -*Anyone else*: "True!".
MC does not only have no character, he is supposed to be a grown adult at his past life,... more>>
there's no such things as engaging plot, characters development, interesting side character or whatsoever until the 400th chapter I managed to endure. every chapter was padded with heavy redundant info/reaction that even after I skimmed chapters and only read bits in between, there's still nothing that I missed.
Yes there were plot holes or some highly convenient plot point in it (anyone with even a tiny bit of status in the novel has to carry a terrible illness all the time), but considering the format of the chinese novel I guess it just couldn't be helped. But unfortunately, the novel failed to make me care about anything or anyone in it, thus I could only helplessly thread on amidst being showered by the s*upidity of MC and every characters in the novel. until at which point I felt that reading further would only be a waste of time and decided to drop it.
When the MC's tamed beast tries to make an opponent his tamed human. Also when the MC's clone tries to make the MC acknowledge him as his master.
If I could tip the Author, I would.
It's a laugh from start to end. The MC never does things conventionally, and some of his entourage of friends and family are even zanier than he is. Is it perfect? Of course not.
Are there plot holes? A few, and they're minor at best.
In the Afterword, the author explains why they're there, and more or less resolves them.
And the side stories are even more hilarious and heartwarming than the main story. That's where the real closure is.
Suffice to say, happy endings abound.
Or rather, they weren't missing, so much as they were hiding in plain sight.
