Traversing into another world, Zhang Xuan finds himself becoming an honorable teacher.

Along with his transcension, a mysterious library appears in his mind.

As long as it is something he has seen, regardless of whether it is a human or an object, a book on its weaknesses will be automatically compiled in the library.

Thus, he becomes formidable.

“Emperor Zhuoyang, why do you detest wearing your underwear so much? As an emperor, can’t you pay a little more attention to your image?”

“Fairy Linglong, you can always look for me if you find yourself unable to sleep at night. I am skilled in lullabies!”

“And you, Demon Lord Qiankun! Can you cut down on the garlic? Are you trying to kill me with that stench?”

This is an incredible story about teachers and students, grooming and guiding the greatest experts in the world!

By the time the tropes get overplayed, there is a really good plot to follow. As long as you have the ability to skim fluff writing, the pacing isn't bad at all.

The ending is one of my favorites of all time if you don't count the epilogues. They reek of fanfiction, but I don't know enough chinese to prove it.

This is definitely one of the worst xianxia novels I have read up to date.

Do not waste your time. This novel is bad.

The novel reads like a very bad sitcom with a laughing track and a studio audience, in the sense that everything he does or says is the 'bestest', he leaves the audience in awe, amazement or complete regret for not shining his shoes or absolute reverence everytime he perfoms.

His intelligence flactuates at the whims of the author. He is super intelligent when he has to impress his audience... more>> and super dumb, ignorant and lacking in self awareness when the author want to force some cheap laughs.

The author is more concerned with impressing the disposable characters he created more than the reader.

I repeat: this novel was not written for readers to enjoy but for characters to be amazed at the MC. The MC will go out of his way to create conflict just so he can look "cool". And he doesn't even need to prepare anything or plan anything he has tons and tons of plot amour. It always works out in the most obvious of ways.

you will always know what is going to happen in the beginning of a chapter or event then you have to read about it for the next 25 chapters as if it was a big surprise. <<less

Read the novel till 900+ chapters and still currently reading. I'll give a few pros and cons of the novel that I've seen so far.

Pros:

  1. If you enjoy a novel that was not too grotesque (what I mean is less killing or less fighting) this should be it, I guess. Most conflicts are usually dealt with either a battle of words or master teacher duel-whatever they're called. Of course, there would be a few that MC decides to kill or annihilate, but it was fewer compared to other novels. Again, this is up until 900+ chaps, not sure how it will go on in the future chapters.
  2. If you enjoy reading something funny, then I suggest you to read this. The author focuses on the comedy trope and I had a few good laughs as well.
  3. It focuses on cultivation. What I meant with cultivation, is that the MC progressed fast with his cultivation. Moreover, the novel focuses on learning and teaching, well because the MC is a teacher so that's a given I guess.
  4. A smart MC and cute students (a little bit mischievous but oh well). Their interactions are quite cute too.
  5. Fairly good translation as well, though I read it in a different site.
Cons:

  1. Yes, like the other reviews said, it is repetitive.
  2. There are a LOT of times where the MC is very ignorant about basically everything, then after a few minutes, he'll suddenly comprehend things and everyone will be like 'Oh? It's just a few moments ago, that he knew nothing at all about blah blah blah' or 'What kind of monster he is?'. Though it seems like it was treated as a running joke. It was funny but it is tiring.
  3. If you like cultivation with a hint of romance, then this is definitely not your cup of tea.
  4. Overpowered MC, where his only rival is a clone of himself. Yes, currently, his clone is stronger than him. So... mega plot armor lol.
  5. There are too many insignificant characters that will show up for a few chapters. There are also many characters with the same surname, and tbh, its very hard to remember all of them. These characters are 'decorations' to make the MC shine more.
Anyway, despite it's cons, it's definitely one of the best Chinese cultivation novels out there. But of course, don't expect too much. It's quite good for a leisurely read, again, it's funny as heck so you'll probably enjoy it... more>> as well. I'll give it a 4/5 rating. <<less

This is a face-slapping cultivation novel about a guy who humiliates all his opponents using omniscience.

"Ha-ha, you thought you are smart? You are nothing before my omniscience! Didn't expect that from me, ha? Slap! Slap! Slap! Next!"

If you tear through the first 80 chapters with repetitive and pointless slapping of poor teachers you may reach fun parts.

The story goes around the concept of being a teacher. There are graders of teachers and the protagonist progresses through them to get more strength, just because his cheat power (omniscience) makes it easier... more>> to go this path. The author himself is a real-life teacher, so his personal delusions and philosophy influence the story a lot.

While growing in power and slapping everyone left and right, he collects disciples, artifacts, fan girls, a girlfriend, tamed beasts, and such.

The plot doesn't worth mentioning, but the ending is not disappointing, at least it ends the way you expect it to end with no weird quirks.

It is not a masterpiece I would recommend, but it is ok if you want to waste some time. <<less

I read up to 1000+ chapters out of boredom and doing that made me feel even more bored because at the start it was interesting and funny to see him faceslapping and teaching the others but it gets really repetitive. By the part I am at now it has happened for at least 3 major arcs/area and nothing big has changed, even the characters react the same way.

It is one of the novels I love even though I stop reading because it is too long. Even though I said it is a long novel, the main character is experiencing extremely conical internal conflicts and you are reading 1000 chapters without realizing it. I recommend if you are looking for something fun.

Story: The story is interesting. The plot is ok even though the author repeats the face slapping action again and again. The ending and the last arc on the final world feels rushed.

Translation: The translation is excellent with very few errors. The most notsble is wrong names.

Character: Character development is fine for the MC while the side characters is less developed. The MC is quite naive/dumb at times and smart at other times.

... more>> World: The world feels too simple and “small”.

Overall: I give it 3 of 5, middlung performance. The story has entertained me, but the auality is only so far. <<less

The most kind of ridiculous writing, on the most promising different modus operandi chinese cultivation novel.

What starts as light and well, how to put it, simple; turns into a desperate savage of- "hey, is that a fly¿" *random#1532 started hesitating, after all, he's hesitating, let alone MC, hestitates* "ok then, let's humiliate, insult his efforts just to be gratified and get ours balls all scratched so pleasurably" -*Anyone else*: "True!".

MC does not only have no character, he is supposed to be a grown adult at his past life,... more>> just to become ret*rded. A librarian who doesn't know how a human could think¿ Lame.

No character, at all, let alone something as important as a feeling of being a MC, it feels more like a side-story suddenly becoming more intense than the main novel, but in the end is all a fraude and is being forced, non-stop, without any sense of reasoning.

Any other characters lives for MC.

That's it, that's one of the worst sh*t there is in some novels, not even BTTH was so adamant and ret*rded upon side-characters, here, anyone exists only for MC, they aren't a character in a novel regardless their role, they're just npc mode for ever, any and every single one of them.

1* For different plot, although comparing it to ED, this one is a suck-up all the way till you get the blood and marrow clean off the body through the balls to "the higher-ups" of society, and that's what this novel is based about... -2*.

1* For at least having a sense of progression of "knowledge" and importancy of not relying on brute force when havng such a 2, 000, 000, 000, 000, 000, 000, 000, 000, 000 IQ cheat. Litreally, that's what kept me going until- I got tired of cultivation being mentioned as highest important but is in fact, just a f*cking word being written, as much as inconsistent "You..." everywhere for by no reason at all (thanks satan he isn't a scripter), which means -1*.

Anything else is the less, romance¿ meh, kinship¿ can't go through it with pixels.

Would recommen this to a starter of reading chinese novels, but I believe this ridiculous MGA level of writing is nowhere near satisfactory to give it a full read, only if you wanna experience a new thing until you actually get tired of seeing the same plot that happened 5 chapters ago repeat itself in 30 chapters after the actual one lasts for 20... how many chapters does this novel ha- oh, no, im, f*cking, out. <<less

The first 100 chapters are quite enjoyable and fun read, but then it only gets worse from there for me.

the story revolves only on face slapping and face slapping only. (They were the so obvious in-your-face rinse and repeat and author spare no effort at all to steer off of it the whole story)
there's no such things as engaging plot, characters development, interesting side character or whatsoever until the 400th chapter I managed to endure.

every chapter was padded with heavy redundant info/reaction that even after I skimmed chapters and only read bits in between, there's still nothing that I missed.
Yes there were plot holes or some highly convenient plot point in it (anyone with even a tiny bit of status in the novel has to carry a terrible illness all the time), but considering the format of the chinese novel I guess it just couldn't be helped.

But unfortunately, the novel failed to make me care about anything or anyone in it, thus I could only helplessly thread on amidst being showered by the s*upidity of MC and every characters in the novel.

until at which point I felt that reading further would only be a waste of time and decided to drop it.

I really enjoyed the story and the main character. He views himself as humble and low-profile, but he ends up being exactly the opposite. There's many hilarious moments. My favorites:

Spoiler

When the MC's tamed beast tries to make an opponent his tamed human. Also when the MC's clone tries to make the MC acknowledge him as his master.

If you liked The Silly Alchemist or A Will Eternal, you'll like this one. The translation and editing are excellent.

Repetition? I didn't give a damn about it, you never get bored of the comedy part of this novel, well that was until the later part of the 1500s chapters where a heavy plot twist appeared...

Spoiler

The little princess was not Luo ruoxin but his student Luo qiqi, Xuan didn't confirm it until Ruoxin appeared (She was super angry at him, not your typical yandere anger but a dark one, if he didn't explain himself and she did trust him no one knew what would've happened then). In the end, he cancelled the marriage and got away with Ruoxin and her subordinate. Well he married Qiqi in the side stories but that was just under the fans' pressure as he said because he intended to end the story with 1-1 pairing

So an advice,
Spoiler

don't attach yourself to any of the side-girls, from the teacher at the first kingdom to yu-fei and maybe even his female students.

That was a very fun journey, I liked the comedy aspect about this novel, its lightheartdness, but I stopped at those 15XX chapters, and when I read the wiki, I believed that it was the best choice. <<less

The point of reading is to read, not to relate. The story would be plain without a deus ex machina, and the Library of Heaven's Path is interesting enough of a concept to simply think about.

The world building is amazing for the first 1900 chapters—it's massive and diverse, but Zhang Xuan is lacking in development just like many Chinese cultivation novels. However, around 1300 chapters in does the author really begin to bring out the character. The focus of everything then on isn't the cultivation levels; it's how he paves... more>> himself.

The story itself is lacking the insane tension that other novels have, and I can say that I like it that way. The story is much more light hearted and makes me feel much more impelled to read it. Also, it is quite rushed after 1700 chapters.

I expect you to struggle when you're reading this. The answers to your questions are at the very, very end. <<less

This novel is like WMW in one way that the MC has a super cheat to store and compile data. Also the plot armour and face slapping is a big aspect of this novel.

This novel be either loved or hated as the story gets pretty much recycled after kingdom arc.... But it is funny so give it a try skim through battles as they are tedious and uninteresting.

This is a massive pile of turd. I just can't fathom how it got so many 5 star ratings. It is basically about a fool in a world of fools, using a cheat to face slap fools and the cycle repeats hundreds of times. The phrase "other party" is used very often to refer to the people conversing with the MC, and it makes it very annoying to read. Especially when it is used 4-5 times in a single paragraph and 20-30 times in a single page. It doesn't get... more>> any better and only gets many times worse. <<less

SCREW THE ROMANCE

This is my first time dropping a novel just because of its awful romance.

Exaggerated scenes with repetition? Ok can still accept it.

Face slapping repeatedly yet again? Fine, I'll just skip that.

Romance? ----NO. Nu-uh.

Spoiler

Just like the usual Chinese romance with cultivation, the author's way of putting or expressing the love of the two involved is plain horrible. Even at the time when the female lead is being introduced going up to the later chapters, it did not make a good impact for me to change my impression. ZX's acting out of his usual self just because of a girl he barely spent his time on? Even if the author inserted that there is some lingering feeling left because of their past as a reason, that shouldn't implicate to the point of breaking his character.

[collapse]

The Story is quite decent than the other xianxia novels I've read, though there are lots of holes and the author never bothered to fix but I still managed to overlook it because of the novelty of the story----Being a teacher.

This is really one of the selling points of this novel and I love to see how ZX would groom his students/disciples as they grow. But....

Spoiler

Where is the promised teacher-student growth? ZX imparted the (heaven's path bla bla technique) to his students and they cultivated silently. The end.

Where is supposed-to-be heart warming stories from the disciples? Why the hell are they only being mentioned from the sidelines and just occasionally shows up with minimum exposure?

I guess it was me expecting too much that the story would provide at least 50 chapters for each of his disciples, how they had faced their hurdles be it personal life or in cultivation. Sadly after the first few chapters they just became Zang Xuan's baggage whenever he goes to certain places. The decision of Zeng Yang and others to leave the shelter of their teacher in order to expose themselves is not a bad idea. What's only disappointing is that they didn't even have a life update mentions from time to time and only gets to show up in the late chapters of the story.

The spotlight mostly falls on the MC face slapping others with or without his intention to do so--repeatedly

Btw Lu Chong's story is something that really pulled the strings, same goes with Wei Changueng's sacrifice for his daughter. The father will do anything just to let his daughter live.

[collapse]

One thing that made me continue to read this till a 1000+ chapters is its humor. Some jokes might have been recycled too many damn times but not everytime. Im also interested to see how his disciples have become but due to some unsavory facts I never bothered to resume reading this.

Overall Rating: Standard 3.0/5 <<less

This story is literally underrated.
If I could tip the Author, I would.
It's a laugh from start to end.

The MC never does things conventionally, and some of his entourage of friends and family are even zanier than he is.

Is it perfect? Of course not.

Spoiler

Are there plot holes? A few, and they're minor at best.

In the Afterword, the author explains why they're there, and more or less resolves them.

And the side stories are even more hilarious and heartwarming than the main story. That's where the real closure is.

Suffice to say, happy endings abound.

[collapse]

All in all, if you're looking for a tragedy, go read Renegade Immortal or The Godsfall Chronicles or something.

If you're looking for a comedy, I recommend The Library of Heaven's Path, and it's on the same level as A Will Eternal.

But you'll have to read it 'til the very end to understand what's really going on. It's like a hundred-piece Jigsaw puzzle with the central pieces missing until the end...

Spoiler

Or rather, they weren't missing, so much as they were hiding in plain sight.

[collapse]

The Author gives hints and foreshadows, but even so, it'll still slap you upside the head.

Really enjoyed this novel. It's absolutely a wish fulfillment novel, but it's written well enough to be very enjoyable. What I enjoyed most out of the novel is it's humor. The author has a great way of bringing the MC's zany actions to light, and there were plenty of times where I was chuckling out loud while reading. I won't get into the details of the actual story, as I'm sure many reviewers have already done so.

There is a reason, however, as to why I've only given it 4 stars... more>> out of 5. It's the same reason that plagues so many web novels, especially extremely long ones. That is the ending. More accurately, it's what feels like a rushed ending, when the author finally decided they wanted to end the novel. While this wasn't as bad as most novels, it still took what felt like it should have been another 800+ chapters and compacted it into about 100-200. I couldn't help but feel a bit uncomfortable reading the last 10% of the novel, because even then I could already see that the pace of the novel was picking up in an almost extreme manner.

Although I have this small complaint, I still definitely recommend this novel to people who like cultivation novels but get a bit tired of the truly cliche novels out there. This novel bursts with humor, but at the same time doesn't lose the edge that most cultivation novels have. Give it a shot and enjoy!! <<less
