6/10 [dropped @ 37] flirtatious all bark no bite mc, a lot of face slapping, fact paced plot, unrealistic if you think a bit hard,... more>> but ehh its a fun read, sometimes you crave junk food. that aside, my biggest problem with this danmei is the writing for npc side characters who only appear for a scene, they gossip and slander the mc in front of him in public every other chapter it breaks my immersion bc who does that?????? i can overlook it a few times but it seems to be the writing style for any conflict in this danmei :\ and theres so much faceslapping, i enjoy it when its not overdone and it seems like thats the main focus of this danmei lmao might have to drop it <<less

okay im laughing at how fractured the fuyao sect is at the beginning with each kid being a mess essentially, the sect dynamic is really funny yet tense, its that meme where each character is thinking everyone else in the room is dumb af. still theyre trying and bonding, and now add a half bird half baby girl into the mix this is pure chaos. adore the found family they have forged together and the way they will do anything to keep each other safe, its how they went from f*ck all these kids to f*ck the world as long as my family is safe. and in true priest fashion everything goes downhill for the sect, from comedy to tragedy. she really made me fall in love with these kids and their relationship with eachother and spent rest of the book coming up with ways to break them and me. favorite part of the story tho is yzm's journey and his feelings for cq which makes me want to yell, his development and his thought process is so human, he starts up as a narcissist but as the story progresses we are shown his selfloathing and how his love for his family outweighs his own hatred and i just (clenches fist). priest writing and romance might not be for everyone but its definitely for me, she writes for the romance for the plot and not the other way around, and thats my preference as well, and this story is esp mostly about this family finding their way back home. the story does fizzle out towards the end tho, like modu, but unlike modu the romance doesn't feel as established towards the end, mingqian have centuries ahead of them so it makes sense in context but i still wanted more chapters towards the end.  <<less
